Hilton garage happily sold my 17 year old daughter a faulty, unroadworthy, dangerous vehicle. After 2 weeks of appalling aftercare, they then let her take it home again, after saying it had been fixed and tested, for it to breakdown on her yet again 15mins into the journey, leaving her in a precarious position on the A50. This company clearly DO NOT check the vehicles they sell, (as stated on their website). DO NOT trust them. Believe me were not the only disgruntled customers in their separate aftersales area. (Which is only open 9am -5pm Mon-Fri, so don't expect any support from them if your car breaks at the weekend). After 5 weeks of pure stress we finally got her money back.

We put our car into a Dealer Auction via Carwow. Hilton Garage won the auction and therefore provisionally bought our car. The day of collection they sent out a car transporter to collect the car. After umming and ahhing he advised that the garage may take some money off the agreed price as there ‘extra scratches’. He would need to speak to them and they would come back with a revised figure. 20 minutes later he advised that the new price would be ‘Six and a Half’. Being that the agreed sale figure was £6777, I assumed the new price was £6500. Disappointed but in the back of my mind I expected they would try this and we had moved on and bought an another car already I reluctantly agreed. Bear in mind I was on my own, with my six month old who was upset as she is at that age, my 5 year old who was off school at the time and the collection had been going on for an hour or so at this point. I signed the esign document. The transporter advised he now needed to wait for the money to land in my account but he said he was in a rush and asked if he could leave my car for now and come back later- he would call to check the money had landed and collect 2-3 hours later (he already had a car on his trailer). Around 30 minutes later he called again and asked me to check my account and my heart sank- they had only transferred £6050, £727 less than agreed! I advised that “this is not right, please do NOT take my car, the figure is incorrect, I will call the garage to advise.” I called them, no one available to take my call so left a message with sales team. 45 mins passed with no call back. I called again, still no one available from transport team so I left another message. I went outside to check the car which had now disappeared (again the transporter had said he would come back in a few hours and been explicitly told by myself there is an issue with funds and do not collect). The car had disappeared. At this point I am hysterical, everyone is ignoring me and I don’t know what to do. I informed my partner who rushed home from work, calling the garage all the way home (30 min drive). They advised (recorded phone call to prove) that ‘There is nothing we can do, the car is now OURS, your wife signed the document and that is the end of the matter’. My partner advised that I would never have agreed to that figure, she has called several times to speak the garage and has been unable to do so as no one is available and no one’s calls back. He informed them they need to return the vehicle as we do not agree with the revised figure and would like a call back from a manager. 30 minutes later the transport manager called him and further advised that ‘they would not return the car, it’s my wife’s fault for not reading the documents correctly and that’s the end of the matter’. So, they agreed the price based on extensive photographs which were obviously accurate. This car has done 20,000 miles, is 9 years old with full service and is almost showroom condition. Came to collect it, advised they would only pay £6500. I reluctantly agreed, as I was stressed and just wanted all this to be over, then sent £6050. I explicitly told them that is incorrect DO NOT take the car. They came back and then took the car. I have loads of evidence of all of the conversations, this above is a 100% accurate description of events, I ‘feel’ like I have been robbed, I’m really upset as money is tight- I would have never agreed to this figure and fell I am out of pocket at least £450 as that is what I was told was the new figure. We are short on bills now this month, £727 less is so much money to us we would NEVER have agreed to this. We have already taken this to the Motoring Ombudsman but we feel like people have a right to know just how bad our experience was and how far these companies are now going to make more money out of people. This weekend we will also be writing to Watchdog as after research it seems this kind of practice is on the rise. Just to reiterate, this is 100% how this happened- I asked them NOT to take my car as they had sent the incorrect figure- they took it regardless and then said ‘there’s nothing we can do- the car is now ours’. The feeling after someone dupes you into something like this is horrible and I’m still really upset that this can happen…

I helped my 91 yr old father sell a car with minor scuffs to these guys via motorway. They picked on stupid little details, everything was declared photos etc but they took advantage of them and knocked 700 off. Livid is an understatement do not touch these guys immoral!!! I never bother reviewing people but this gave me no choice

Costs. Waited a week discussing a car with multiple people, having to wait days for a collection time… to only find that the MOT has been fudged, and they won’t fix the issue, or reduce the price so that I can fix the issue. Honestly the worst company I’ve ever dealt with, take note of the multiple people saying how RUBBISH they are their service is. Don’t commit to buying spend your cash elsewhere

After a pleasant experience with the sales representative we agreed to buy a car at the price that was displayed in the car windscreen and shown on the garage system. The final agreement was reached an hour or so later over the phone (but confirmed in messages) so the reservation fee was paid online, noting the price online was higher. Even so, we were told not to worry about that we had agreed a price. This agreement is all in writing! The invoice arrived a few days later with the higher price, we queried it, again we were told not to worry about that, we had bought it at the price displayed on the vehicle. The day of collection arrives, our own car has been sold privately so we now have no vehicle. We are excited and have the cash waiting to pay but lo and behold the purchase price is incorrect and is higher (£450). We query this but no problem, he goes to sort it. Only to be told that it can’t be sorted. We are then met with two managers who give their spiel that the price is the online price as that’s where we paid the deposit. We explain and show all the proof and the sales representative agrees with us but these managers have their price audit that shows they increased the price. They state the price can change and they don’t even have to give us our deposit back. This has never been explained before and is not what we agreed. After 4 hours of sheer distress because we now have no vehicle and no means to pay the higher amount they agree to meet us halfway. However, their halfway is £200 of £450 not £225 which admittedly they eventually concede. So basically we were backed into a corner to pay more money on the day or be left with no vehicle and therefore no means to get to work tomorrow! There was virtually no fuel in the vehicle and work that was agreed to be done - wasn’t! They decided that it was just wear and tear and they weren’t doing it. It was an absolute disgrace. This is no reflection on the sales representative who will undoubtedly be blamed for making a mistake. He at least displayed humility and integrity and was professional. Why on earth they put stickers with prices on car windscreens that aren’t the price is absolutely beyond me? It’s misleading at best….. there is most certainly a staff training issue, a lesson to be learned to remove pricing from windscreens and a lesson in honouring what you’ve agreed!
When buying the car, the sales team were great however post sales service has been terrible. They made an administration error in sorting out a warranty. Despite several emails and various attempts to discuss this they have ignores all correspondence. Based.on my post sales experience to date I could not recommend this business.
These people have had very poor training in sales. Bought a car, went to collect it after seeing it. Promised the body work would be sorted and it wasn't. It had front end damage since I purchased it. No work done on it. Was not given my deposit back. Manager is a useless moron. Have gone to trading standards. AVOID THIS PLACE COMPLETELY.
Sold my car to them through motorway. Was greeted with hostility from the people coming to pick the car up, initially trying to knock over a thousand pounds off the agreed price. Was haggling for an hour to get back to the original selling price, awful company don’t bother with them.
Bought a car from here yesterday, massive dent on the inside of the drivers door brought up to the lassie that was dealing with us due to the original lassie that was meant to have an appointment with not showing up . To the dent inside the door getting Told that it can be fix without a new door took it to a bodywork’s place when drove 10hrs to be told that it can’t be fixed and it’s a new door got £250 off the car to get new door and everything else would cost £2,000 would avoid this absolute garage at all cost - the young lassie that ended up dealing with us was lovely woman didn’t get her name tho
AWFUL: Like buying a car from a bunch of Ocean Beach club rejects! No service, no empathy, no care - just pure sales. Please understand your car before buying, check every document and run a health check if possible. Pure frauds - you'll be lucky to come home in one piece"
