I had been looking for a low mileage VW Tiguan, and spotted one at Howards Used Car Centre in Yeovil, so after making sure everything was in place, finance approved, part ex accepted, Insurance ready, I drove the 228 miles down to the dealership. After introducing myself to the sales exec who I had been talking to a few days before, I was shown the documents and was handed the keys to a gleaming Black 6 year old VW Tiguan with 24k on the clock which was parked outside. After a good look around I was given a test drive ( make sure you take your driving license ) happy with the car I was taken through the documentation and everything explained to me. Howards is no ordinary used car centre, as it is fed by 8 franchised Howards dealerships so there is a lot of stock. All cars come with new or good Mot's and a full service, at sale. My advice is to know what you want and to speak to them if your travelling far, They where very helpful to me, and explained what documents I needed to take. After returning home I realised that a new cambelt was needed as the VW was over its time limit. I phoned Howards who agreed to pay for this with no arguments or conditions. Arranged a test drive at the Howards Used Car Centre Yeovil branch.Travelled from South Wales. The actual car was covered in this ‘Saharah Dust’.Could not inspectbtje bodywork. Surely this car should have been cleaned. There are absolutely loads of cars on site, jam,ed so,closely together that you have to squeeze sideways to pass through them. Very difficult to read the information sheets on the side windows. Drove in to customer parking and had to manoeuvre very slowly through sales cars on both sides. There was no parking it was full of for sale cars.Very difficult to reverse back out. Looking through car windows and in boots and they simply seemed as,if they had not been cleaned! Very poor show!

We went at the weekend to have a look at the used cars .. Specifically for an automatic only.. We explained the situation and was asked to come in .. Sit down and he would see what they had ... First we gave details then he disappeared for 20 mins and came back with no information but asked again what we were looking for.. He then went to see his manager to see what stock they had!!! .. 20 minutes later he came back and we asked what automatic did he have for us to look at .. He said I'll have a look on the screen !!!! We asked if he did actually have anything for us to look at . Wasn't bothered about make /model/colour just A CAR!!!!!!! WE WALKED ROUND OURSELVES IN THE YARD AND AFTER ANOTHER HALF HOUR WE GIT IN OUR CAR AND WENT SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! WASTED AN HOUR ...NEVER AGAIN.. DON'T GO THERE.. THEY HAVE LOTS OF CARS ON DISPLAY BUT THEY DON'T WANT TO SELL YOU THEM..

How nice to have a brilliant experience when buying a used car. Bought a Honda Accord estate from Howards Used Car Centre in Yeovil. It was in good condition at a fair price with a 6 month RAC warranty. Unfortunately after 4 months the electronic tailgate stopped working resulting in not being able to open the tailgate at all. Contacted Howards who contacted the RAC only to be told this was not covered by the 6 months warranty. This, however was not an issue for Howards who took it upon themselves to have it fixed (whilst providing us with a courtesy car) totally at their own expense. No fuss, no arguments. In all fantastic customer service, highly recommend and wouldn't hesitate to use them again. Clearly second hand car dealers with a conscience.
