Bought a vehicle from J & I Car Sales a couple of years ago. Tried to trade it in yesterday only to find it had been an insurance write off when I bought it!

So I purchased a car from J&I and was sold a warranty. 1 week after purchase the wheel bearing went - so I took it to local garage who did the work to replace it and also highlighted that the brake discs were so warped that they were dangerous and this should have been noticed by any dealer. When I tried to claim on the warrant for the wheel bearing I was told it wasn't covered because it wasnt a catastrophic failure ( i.e it didnt shatter whilst the car was moving causing an accident!!) I immediately phoned up J& I and asked for a refund of the warranty I had purchased as it clearly was not fit for purpose. I was told dont worry they would sort it and get the warranty upgraded and then I would get refunded the costs of the replacement. 6 months on, lots of blame sharing between Sam the owner and Gordon the salesman and still no cheque. Typical slippery car salesman. Avoid this garage.

I really would avoid purchasing any vehicle from this dealership. We thought we were buying a great car that had "just been serviced and had no problems at all". However like another said in his review of J and I, they really only make any effort of caring during the sale of the car but when it comes to any fault or in our case ongoing multiple faults they really don't want to know about it. It's almost impossible to get any sort of contact from the owner, they never reply to emails or answer phones and if you do speak to anyone the majority of the time they were incredibly rude and not helpful at all. When we did finally get through to them and they offered to fix these ongoing issues, they sent the car to their chosen garage who are just as bad, in some cases the car came back worse off, the communication was terrible we always had to chase up the progress and nothing ever got fixed after taking the car back there 3 times! We've now had our car for 3 months, there are still issues and faults with the car relating to previous faults that their garage apparently fixed. We took it upon ourselves to take the car to a more competent and closer garage to get the issue fixed paying for it ourselves as we were fed up of them failing to resolve the issues yet they made no effort to help us with the problem we were just told "the boss is on holiday for a whole month and we can't help you". Poor customer service, won't be recommending them and most certainly won't be buying future cars from them again.

Purchased a gorgeous Mercedes Clk convertible which sadly developed a few problems. The seat belt wouldn't retract properly, the sat nav and CD player didn't work correctly and the spare key only operated manually. I telephoned Sam and Gordon and whilst I hoped they would offer a quick solution you always worry if the promise of good after sales service will be the reality you are faced with. I am delighted to say the guys went out of their way to fix all of the faults at nil cost to me and due to the distance from my home in Kent to their location they even delivered the car back to my home address. I find it very hard to believe that anyone could submit negative feedback as in my humble opinion if you offer some patience and flexibility they will resolve any issues you have. My car is a gorgeous trouble free drive and I plan on using them later in the year to purchase my wife's next car. A great sales team who live up to what they promise. Thank you Kieron

I never write reviews unless on TripAdvisor as I'm very fussy. I researched the car I wanted in depth on line. Common faults and buying guide and different models like se es ex models on a Honda. I like to view a car with some knowledge on what to look for and what I should expect. I didn't mind paying extra to buy a car from a proper garage. But that doesn't necessarily mean you get the right car for your money like where the garage is based and what it looks like on street view and online. I called J and I and inquired about the Honda. They seemed very knowledgeable both about the Honda and my which I wanted to px. Happy with the customer service I decided to make my way to them. I was warned that the garage is in the country side. This didn't bother me. Took me 2 hours getting there through country lanes and I remember thinking this trip better be worth it. Found the garage and all I can say is they are not your everyday salesman who claim to be traders from their home address. This place was nice with a in door well lit show room. The car I wanted to buy was ready for viewing. All the gadgets were explained in detail before we went for a test drive. It was perfect. My wife loved the car. I was very happy with the service from the beginning. I'm glad I made the long journey. I didn't pay extra for the service as they were very competitive. They also offer a 2 year warranty at a price cheaper that warranty direct and cover the same item. I'm actually glad I went there because I'm very cynical about salesmen but these guys proved me wrong. The car was as it described with no awkward moments relating to the sale and offer of my car in px. Very professional service. I would highly recommend them. Don't let the journey through country lanes put you off. It's worth a trip. Keep up the good work guys.
