Brought a car one week ago from JGM motors. As I drive round the corner the driver door swings open, I rang the owner who was very rude and had previously promised me 1 months warranty. First he refused to do anything and was extremely rude and patronising. I took a week off work for kids holiday which we spent in the house as my car was with him from Monday to Thursday and he said he could not fix my car round my ‘social life’ - again rude and unprofessional and unnecessary. I have given the company one start however it is not even that. I would not recommend this garage and will definitely go elsewhere. I wonder where he got the cars MOT passed and I am yet to get the door fixed elsewhere out of my own pocket. Avoid.

The man who owns JGM Motors is rude, arrogant and condescending. He sold me a car which obviously needed a new clutch but I bought it on good faith as I had explained my very dire circumstances and I believed him to be genuine. He took me for a test drive, I didn’t think to argue. Yep fool me once. So I stupidly paid because I needed a vehicle there and then. After that he basically became nasty. Each time I have called for basic information he has been rude, told me that he has spent loads of money on MOTing my car. Nonsense, I paid for the car with 12 months MOT. I believe he has set ways with set circumstances. Seem nonchalant but happy to help at first. Friendly wife comes in and you think ah great, family man. Then, if makes a sale he’s fine to see you off. From what I have read on his other reviews, if he has to answer awkward questions he becomes sullen and pushy. If you call him about anything ever again he will ask for your name, if you have bought a car with him and which one. He’ll then make you feel like you did something wrong (buying a car off him is obviously the mistake). And that will be the end of all communication. Next victime please. Awful. Avoid, avoid, avoid. I’m going to make myself heard about this man everywhere I can. Having read the way he has treated other too. I’m furious for his behaviour towards me and on behalf of everyone else he has wronged. Shame on him.

I am looking for anyone who would be willing to collectively come together with myself and another party I have also been in contact with to provide evidence and pursue a large case against JGM Car Sales (owned by Tracey Maw)/JGM Motors (previously owned by Joseph Maw) - fronted by Gary Maw. Looking online there is an unbelievable amount of horrendous stories of good, honest people being subjected to what can only be described as unscrupulous dealings by these 3 people named above. I think it is high time these people were brought to justice (again in the case of Gary Maw, re: BBC coverage of his waste disposal company). Please let me know if this is something you would be willing to do. Thank you.

Hi, My son recently visited this dealer to buy a corsa, He left 300 deposit, however luckily the finance didn't go through but the dealer will not return his deposit and has been very obstructive, rude and arrogant. There was no contract or paperwork of any kind signed. This dealer is a disgrace, I would be happy to put case against them. Dale Fletcher
Bought and well overpaid for a Volvo XC90 from JGM Motors, was happy paying a bit more from a dealer as would be getting a warranty etc. After viewing the car decided to buy it. I was then scurried off to their little office by the son while the father disappeared with the car, which i thought was a bit odd. The minute the full balance was paid i was told the car wasn't ready to be taken away!!!! I had already explained i needed a car to drive away then and there. i immediately asked for my money back which was just outright refused, and the aggressive behaviour started. should be avoided at all costs

I am officially complaining about this company. I will not give up. I hate that this has happened to so many people. I will stand up for us and have this man made accountable. He has an official disqualification on a gov. Website. Sorry to hear about your plight. I’m complaining to AutoTrader and Customs and Excise.

Wish we had read reviews before buying a motor off JGM Morors Durham- Warranty not worth the paper its printed on. Autotrader should not advertise their motors as every review is bad. Cost us a fortune to repair.

I'd been saving a while for a new car, saw an advert online from these guys which I thought was too good to be true (it was). I've seen similar reviews on here, stating they were going to get a 12 month warranty but it was only 1 month. Also had numerous problems with the car as soon as I got it, the car would cut out whilst driving, very dangerous. Don't know how they can sleep at night, oh yeah, it's because they've got lots of money from all the people they've treated like me. I'm sure karma will come back round to haunt them soon anyway.

Dont buy from JGM Motors. Bought a car from them and it's useless takes five or six times to start every time. Blue tacked front bumber on only realised after a couple of months when it started to come loose
I saw the car I wanted from JGM Motors for half the price of everywhere else. Very well priced vehicles. Had the car a month. Condition is amazing and runs well. Definitely a good car. As for the dealer himself. The owner was an unpleasant man to deal with. He is very pushy, rude and I felt like I was bothering him coming to view the car. Car wouldn't start as it needed a new battery. Yet he was still pushing me to buy it without even test driving it. As I asked questions he was snappy and didn't seem like he wanted to answer. He kept asking me if I could afford it. He stated 12 month warranty on the ad. Which is wrong. It's only 1 month. I had to take the car back for new battery. Which was done easily. I then took it back for the engine management light. Easy fix but they had scuffed the car and denied it. Horrible service. I can recommend the cars and prices but not the dealer. If you have to deal, deal with his son. The owner's son was very nice and friendly and easy to deal with.

JGM MOTORS ARE DODGY - DO NOT GO THERE. The man who owes the company Gary cannot wait to get your money off you, he will try to push you into putting a deposit down on the car over the phone - which he CLAIMS will be returned if you do not like the car. He is unpleasant, pushy and rude. I recently bought a car form this dealer and within hours of the purchase the engine light was lit up and it was cutting out intermittently. I gave the garage the opportunity to fix the car - they took it away for one week (meanwhile I had no transport). They then returned the car claiming it was fixed - it wasn't. I then requested a refund, which they refused, even though I am legally obligated to one. - I've had the car less then 2 weeks!!! They have also sold me the car with a false service history. The invoices they gave me for the service history are the same make of car - but a different registration number!!. This illegal, I have Durham Trading Standards investigating them. I have also found that the company is register to a strange little office in the center of London. Bailiffs will not recover much from there I doubt. THIS COMPANY IS DODGY- DO NOT GO THERE.

I purchased a second hand car from JGM Motors at Coalford Farm for my daughter in November 2017, the vehicle came with a 30 day warranty. The car turned out to be defective, not to a standard of mechanical worthiness that would reasonably be expected, the dealer failed to make good any of these problems or to honour his warranty. I gave the dealer every opportunity to repair the vehicle or compensate me for my losses, calling him 7 times, sending 5 emails and 2 letters by registered post before seeking redress through the small claims court. The County Court awarded a judgement against JGM Motors for the full value of my claim, but when the bailiffs went to enforce this judgement at the dealership where I bought my daughters car at Coalford Farm, they were informed that JGM ceased trading in October 2017. The company that is now trading from Coalford Farm is called JGM Car Sales and is not liable for the debts of JGM Motors. The lady that signed our receipt for the payment for my daughter’s car on behalf of JGM Motors is now the Director of JGM Car Sales. JGM Motors have now applied to be struck off at Companies House without filing accounts to March 2017, these are still overdue. I would strongly recommend that anyone considering purchasing a vehicle from this family ran business should have an AA or RAC inspection carried out before handing over any payment.

Just bought by our 3rd car from JGM and we couldn’t be happier. Great curtomer service, family values that make you feel welcome, recognised for being a return/loyal customer and a great cuppa too. All cars have been great value. If you’re looking for a second hand motor, these guys are by far the best in town.

I've seen the same reviews posted on AutoTrader and other websites. From similar fake names, always stating how they got "a great cuppa too". If you're going to leave fake positive reviews for your company, at least vary them slightly.
I went to view a car yesterday traveling 14 miles to get to their farm. Everything was fine until the test drive, the clutch felt very unusual but some do. When pulling out of a junction the clutch wouldn't bite and I was left rolling into a 60mph road. I finally corrected the issue before being hit with the gentleman in the rear seat screaming the entire time. The old gentleman was polite and courteous up until I suggested we get a mechanic to review the car before purchase. He was very pushy suggesting that people buy cars with full MOT all the time. Even going as far as to suggest that if we didn't leave a deposit the car would be gone by tomorrow (It's not). He was quite a scary gentleman who wouldn't take no for a answer. He constantly was asking for a deposit even after I said 'if it's gone tomorrow then that's ok'. Constantly he said we had wasted his time even though we actually had intentions to buy just wanted a mechanic to review it. In summary I travelled 14 miles to a farm to view a car I was heavily interested in to basically be out of by the pushy and dominant behaviour of the owner. I would of returned today and actually have purchased the vehicle in full if it wasn't for his behaviour. Reading previous reviews about MOTs being dodgy I'm actually very lucky I didn't cave in to his pressure and purchase without a mechanic looking over it. He explained that a MOT means nothing is wrong and even lied about servicing gaps. I told him we had other cars to look at on the way back home but we are very interested in the vehicle he has and by then he just told us to leave. 30 warranty is standard but you have to pay a external company for any extended warranty.
