I cannot rate Johnson’s Volkswagen Birmingham highly enough. Excellent customer service from Alisha and any problems were put right straight away. Would definitely recommend buying a car from them.

Incompetent or corrupt? If I could give Johnson's Volkswagen zero stars I would. They are either unforgivably incompetent, or unashamedly corrupt. I have a VW Eos which is a hard top convertible with an additional panoramic sun roof. The main roof had been leaking for a few weeks when the panoramic sun roof failed to close leaving the car open to the elements and unsafe to drive. I took my car to Johnsons VW in Shirley and they kept it for 2 days, charged me £240 for 2 hours labour and did absolutely nothing to close the sun roof. All they did was tell me what they couldn't do. They said the bill would go up to £720 for an additional 4 hours labour, but they wouldn't be able to guarantee they could close the roof. At this point i smelled a rat. I therefore had a look online for alternatives. I found a you tube video of a self taught mechanic based in Leicester, which showed him closing an Eos sun roof, with the problem my car had, in 5 minutes. I called him and explained the situation He said "get your car back from VW and bring it to me tomorrow and I'll close your roof free of charge in under 10 minutes". He was as good as his word, he closed my sun roof and made my car drivable again and charged me nothing. His company is called Vag Pro and he is a cabriolet specialist. I explained to Johnsons VW what had happened and sent them the invoice from Vag Pro showing the work he had done, free of charge. They have refused to refund the £240 they charged me for doing nothing.

l Bought a VW Passat GT September 2021 at the time of sale they said the vehicle had a full service l noticed there was a issue with the central locking as l live in London and the vehicle was under warranty l took it up to my local VW in London. l was told by my local VW that the car needed a service also the issue with the central locking was on this car before the sale so VW will not repair it under warranty so l went back to Johnson in Liverpool. they was very rude and just refused to service the car and fix the problem with the central locking never again l will stay away from them specially the sales Rep Sophie she was all nice in the beginning once l bought the car she turned into a witch.

Booked the appointment for the test drive twice , whereby had to take time off work. On arrival of the first appointment the salesman who had arranged to meet me and have the car ready for the test drive was not available nor was the car ready for the test drive. spoke to the management, and was told that they were had no knowledge of the appointment for me to test drive the car. whilst having conversation with the management , I saw the salesman hding in the office trying his best to avoid me. I was told by the management that he was delivering a car. On the day of my appointment the same salesman had contacted me to confirm and said that he was looking forward to seeing me and reminding the documents required to test drive. i told him that i am on my way and be at the showroom in 1hour. I then booked the second appointment through Carwow and they had booked to view a new car. Carwow confirm via email to test drive the car at Johnsons Volkswagen Sutton Coldfield . On arrival the receptionist was very rude, had to wait for 30minutes before the salesman came to see me. I gave him all my details and showed him the email confirmation. The salesman said they had no knowledge of the booking, was very rude, obnoxious, he kept on going in and out of the office and did not even apologise. I asked to speak to the manager in charge also was very rude. I thought if i book a car through Carwow then all this will be done professionally, I will never consider purchasing any car from VW JOHNSONS, SUTTON COLDFIELD, WEST MIDLANDS. Star rating if i could give ZERO STAR RATING I DEFINITELY.

Bought my VW Golf 8 from these cowboys a few months ago, and right from the outset I have had constant issues with warning lights displaying, safety kit not working etc etc, You would have thought that they would be keen to sort the issues out on the car as i have recorded the faults on video and so has the service manager at the local dealership i used that I have recorded on video, but no apparently not. I went to reject the car and they said they would not support the rejection because they had no evidence there was anything wrong with the car. I should point out that they are over 200 miles away from me, so I took the car to a local dealership to diagnose and record the evidence that my car was indeed faulty, and not one but 2 dealers have recorded faults, but still Johnsons VW Birmingham stick their head in the sand in the hope they can pretend this is not happening and that I will go away,which I will not.. I have tried dozens and dozens of times to get in touch with them to discuss this and even VW have got involved but they still wont help or cooperate or even provide an alternative resolution. If you are after a VW I would seriously go somewhere else. If however you do have your heart set on a VW Golf 8 be aware that a lot of the systems on that model have been developed in haste, and there is no known remedy because VW have not developed one yet, This includes an emergency assist button in the roof that 2 dealers have told me may not work when you need them or may go into fault mode and the green light turns to red meaning it doesn't and wont work. I resent very much the fact that VW are using new buyers as unpaid Beta testers for their rushed and bodged tech in the new Golf. P.S. I am obliged to give them one star but they dont even deserve that

Bought a car off them in 2018 and the sales team was great back then. Upgraded to a newer car this year (2021) and the sales team has been horrible. Once you've paid them your money, they don't care about you. I still haven't received my second key and didn't even receive the green new vehicle keeper sheet to tax the vehicle. Had to chase them to get the reference number to tax the vehicle. You're better off going elsewhere.

I contacted Dean at Johnson's VW to discuss a Motability car. Clearly he thinks we are second class citizens and he'd rather be dealing with "better things" Taking my business elsewhere.

Ordered car in October and we are still waiting. First car they ordered was the wrong one and when we call for an update, they either fob us off or don't respond. Please do not use this dealership as they are unprofessional and a waste of time
