Booked the appointment for the test drive twice , whereby had to take time off work. On arrival of the first appointment the salesman who had arranged to meet me and have the car ready for the test drive was not available nor was the car ready for the test drive. spoke to the management, and was told that they were had no knowledge of the appointment for me to test drive the car. whilst having conversation with the management , I saw the salesman hding in the office trying his best to avoid me. I was told by the management that he was delivering a car. On the day of my appointment the same salesman had contacted me to confirm and said that he was looking forward to seeing me and reminding the documents required to test drive. i told him that i am on my way and be at the showroom in 1hour. I then booked the second appointment through Carwow and they had booked to view a new car. Carwow confirm via email to test drive the car at Johnsons Volkswagen Sutton Coldfield . On arrival the receptionist was very rude, had to wait for 30minutes before the salesman came to see me. I gave him all my details and showed him the email confirmation. The salesman said they had no knowledge of the booking, was very rude, obnoxious, he kept on going in and out of the office and did not even apologise. I asked to speak to the manager in charge also was very rude. I thought if i book a car through Carwow then all this will be done professionally, I will never consider purchasing any car from VW JOHNSONS, SUTTON COLDFIELD, WEST MIDLANDS. Star rating if i could give ZERO STAR RATING I DEFINITELY.
Bought my VW Golf 8 from these cowboys a few months ago, and right from the outset I have had constant issues with warning lights displaying, safety kit not working etc etc, You would have thought that they would be keen to sort the issues out on the car as i have recorded the faults on video and so has the service manager at the local dealership i used that I have recorded on video, but no apparently not. I went to reject the car and they said they would not support the rejection because they had no evidence there was anything wrong with the car. I should point out that they are over 200 miles away from me, so I took the car to a local dealership to diagnose and record the evidence that my car was indeed faulty, and not one but 2 dealers have recorded faults, but still Johnsons VW Birmingham stick their head in the sand in the hope they can pretend this is not happening and that I will go away,which I will not.. I have tried dozens and dozens of times to get in touch with them to discuss this and even VW have got involved but they still wont help or cooperate or even provide an alternative resolution. If you are after a VW I would seriously go somewhere else. If however you do have your heart set on a VW Golf 8 be aware that a lot of the systems on that model have been developed in haste, and there is no known remedy because VW have not developed one yet, This includes an emergency assist button in the roof that 2 dealers have told me may not work when you need them or may go into fault mode and the green light turns to red meaning it doesn't and wont work. I resent very much the fact that VW are using new buyers as unpaid Beta testers for their rushed and bodged tech in the new Golf. P.S. I am obliged to give them one star but they dont even deserve that
Bought a car off them in 2018 and the sales team was great back then. Upgraded to a newer car this year (2021) and the sales team has been horrible. Once you've paid them your money, they don't care about you. I still haven't received my second key and didn't even receive the green new vehicle keeper sheet to tax the vehicle. Had to chase them to get the reference number to tax the vehicle. You're better off going elsewhere.
I contacted Dean at Johnson's VW to discuss a Motability car. Clearly he thinks we are second class citizens and he'd rather be dealing with "better things" Taking my business elsewhere.
Ordered car in October and we are still waiting. First car they ordered was the wrong one and when we call for an update, they either fob us off or don't respond. Please do not use this dealership as they are unprofessional and a waste of time

Excellent communication, completed used car warranty work to my satisfaction without hesitation. Picked up and collected my vehicle from Wiltshire. Also paid the fuel used ..... recommend Johnsons VW Birmingham.
I choose a VW Tiguan after many years in Land Rover products. I had factory manufacture issue with my car, Johnson held the vehicle awaiting a VW fix to be available. The dealership arranged for a service vehicle for me, and kept me informed of the status of the resolution on a 48 hour period. After a number of weeks (6) waiting for the manufacturers fix to be ready, Johnsons suggest that I have a replacement vehicle as they felt I'd not had the level good service they wanted for any customer. Within 1 week they sourced me a new Tiguan of a higher spec. All the way though the sales period and the service period I felt that Johnsons considered me, my feelings and needs above anything. I would recommend Johnsons Volkwagen in Birmingham to anyone, and will look to stay with Johnsons for my next vehicle to.
Volkswagen Birmingham have no interest in the customers once the car is sold. They also give misleading information and once you complained are made no one cares no managers come to see you or apologise for their attitude.
We contacted Johnsons VW Birmingham as our daughter had a fault on her car. We asked for a diagnostic test & was informed it would cost £62 & then had a call to say they needed a further 3 hours to investigate the fault. At a cost of £380 after checking the wiring, the fault was not repaired as that would cost approximately £2,000! The car was taken to another garage and they were shocked by the time and price that we were charged and completed the work for £180. We also requested the EA 189 voluntary service action to be completed- but this did not happen. I am really annoyed and confused how a main dealership can overcharge and be dishonest and get away with this sort of customer service. I am in the process of making a formal complaint.

I'm currently having the same issues..£62 for diagnostics (when other places charge £20-£40). Been advised may be an electrical fault but won't know for sure until main technician has had a look, which will take 3 hours at a cost of £380 and then whatever it costs to repair the fault! Absolute robbery. Julia, where did you get the car repaired from?
