Hi - I have experienced exactly this and since June 2024 been going through the court process but am finding it really difficult. It feels so unfair he is able to get away with this and scam so many others. This was after I'd purchased the car I was then sent the logbook which turned out to be Cat S and completely unroadworthy- the MOT was forged etc. As you've stated you are taking him to court I wondered if you've had any luck? Everytime the baliffs go to collect the debt he changes his company name. Since i've been working on this he's been KB cars, angel cars, oldbury auto cars, a and a motors etc. He deny's he is KB cars and the baliffs simply have to go along with it because all his signage has changed etc. I know it is the same man however because the photos he takes are in the same place and when calling up its the same name. The courts won't do anything as his company name changes, do you have his surname or any help in trying to reclaim your money (best of luck by the way)
