Owner had to open up especially for us and asked me on the phone was I going to buy the car if he did cos he didnt want to "waste his time" otherwise! Car was filthy even though he had a days notice that I was going to view it. Sidelight not working. plip key damaged, cracked dashboard button. When I said I'd think about it he asked "think about what?" and said he'd close his gates whilst I thought! Then turned his back and started saying I was a timewaster. I felt rushed and like I was a nuisance. We travelled 20 miles to see the car and were very disappointed by the sellers attitude and the whole experience. We left quickly and would not go back. I would not recommend this garage.

Martin Harrison in response to Very poor viewing experience
Response to dealers response to my review!-- I'm not sure which bits you think I'm lying about here. When I contacted you the day before to ask to view the vehicle the next day you said it was fine and to ring you before I set off, which is exactly what I did just as you asked. You never mentioned your family's circumstances, and if hadn't been convenient for you I would have completely understood. Instead you choose to make me feel bad by taking the tone of 'I can open up but it's a lot of trouble so unless you're going to buy it don't waste my time.' This was a bad sign to start with, and I probably shouldn't have pursued it any further at all if I'm being honest. The car looked good though. Having seen other reviews this seems to be a common theme- asking people whether they'll definitely buy the car if they're allowed to test drive it! I work in sales and believe me, this is not a good sales technique. You would sell more cars if you make the customer feel that nothing is too much trouble! I don't see what you have to gain by asking that question? I'm sure most people would agree with me that it's not creating a good impression, just putting pressure on people. I didn't say I'd viewed a "great number already"! You have entirely made this up! I said I had seen a few, which I had. I also did not say to you that I didn't like some "salesmens attitude"! Again you have just made this up, and try to turn this on me accusing me of a bad attitude! I think people will make their own mind up about you if you accuse people of having an attitude just because they give honest facts about their experience. Not very professional! You were about 10 minutes late, not two. I chatted for several minutes with my son about how long to allow after you became late! This would really not have been a big deal to be honest because I understand that anyone can be delayed. It's just another little red flag. To be honest I daren't ask for a test drive because I felt you were just waiting to get rid of me . If you were muttering within earshot about me being a timewaster even without me test driving it just because I wanted to think about it, what would you have said if I had test driven it and then said I wanted to think about it?! Feeling pressured like this isn't how a buyer wants to feel. I'd already told you I'd driven 20 miles to see the car, which I had. I've now bought a car from elsewhere, so am not a timewaster! As a professional salesman, would it not be courteous and good customer service to offer a test drive and to see paperwork etc? --- this is what I get from other dealers.. The car may have been good for its age and well priced (I gave you 4 stars for value for money), but a potential buyer doesn't just make a judgement based on the car, they need to feel they can trust the dealer and that the signs are he is helpful, and that he is professional. Whatever people believe about my initial review is a bit irrelevant,- the unprofessional way you have responded to it will help tell people what they need to know about you and your professionalism. It doesn't in itself mean you would handle any aftersales matters badly, but to many people, me included, it would be a good indicator.
Lane Autos only actually open till 4.30 through the week which doesn't help when you work full time. Bit rude and abrupt on the phone and not very helpful, makes me wonder how difficult they would become if something went wrong with a car
brilliant service guys awesome car awesome briliant price even give me free charger thanks guys

Very helpful both on the phone as well as in person. Car itself good for age and great knick. Very positive experience, family run company and does what it says on the tin! Would recommend.
A few months ago my daughter bought a Ford Ka - on the day Lane Autos were friendly and helpful and the car was exactly as described. She recently brought the car here so I had the chance to jack it up and give it a once over - and it's a little cracker. She is delighted and if she is happy so am i.
We purchased a var recently, the young salesmen called Max , was very pleasant, polite and helpful, A pleasure to do business with , Thank you Max
Very rude, misleading, aggressive and liars, when to see a car that didn’t fit the description one bit, they lie so people come to view the car, and and also lie about if a car is available or not. Nothing but cowboys running the centre, DO NOT RECOMMEND!
I have bought 2 cars off Scott. My guest was a Vauxhall Zafira which was written off in a car accident. Had no hesitation in going back to replace my car. No pressure to buy. Would highly recommend these guys. Thank you so much

Thanks for the feed back ... I’m sorry I don’t see the revelance of bringing up that your ex military..as much as I respect ex military we treat everyone the same .. you arranged to view a car (not purchase) as no deposit or confirmation of a sale had taken place .. unfortunately it was a popular vehicle and another person had also arranged to view .. we phoned and text you to make you aware of the fact it had sold !! We apologised profusely over your misunderstanding and lack of communication skills !! And you also missed out the part where you then asked us to inform you of any other vehicles we may get in future !!! As ex military I would’ve expected a more honest explanative review from you
Bought a Vauxhall corsa in August from lane autos, only lasted 2 weeks car wasn’t starting and was leaking oil, took it back while it got repaired told me it needed a new engine, had wait another 2 weeks while it got repaired, finally got it repaired only lasted another 6 weeks broke down again, took it a garage told me said head cylinder miss firing needs a new engine but yet the dealer told me he’d put a brand new engine in, so it’s just cost over a £1000 to get it repaired, fair play the dealer put £250 towards but fact is just spent a fortune on the car not even had it 6 month yet......Just adding another issue from the last review I put, now needs a new abs drum as the car is breaking to one side and is dangerous especially in the rain, I’ve now spent more on repairs than what the car cost, absolute joke, shouldn’t be allowed to sell cars in the first place this dealer, would not recommend to anyone
