purchased a citroen c4 from lane autos on sunday the 11th June with an apparent MOT from end of May. on Thurs 14th June the ABS, (!) and STOP warning lights all came on. Had the car checked and there is literally ZERO left on the brake pads. Upon contacting he was a bit funny but ultimately agreed to pay for pads once i explained about the 30 days every customer has when purchasing a car should something like this happen causing the car to be classed as not fit for purpose, a car should not be undriveable FOUR days after purchase. Was happy with this resolution so booked car in for pads, then he REFUSED to pay for pads, went back on his word. now is ignoring me. having to liaise with Trading Standards to resolve who have now got a mechanics report stating that this car COULD NOT have passed an MOT 100 miles prior so either the MOT is fraudulent or the pads were changed to bad ones afterwards. Arranging recovery of car back to garage. AVOID!

Had a fantastic experience when we part exchanged our car. We turned up at closing time and he stayed open for us and offered us the best deal we could have found. He was so helpful, honest and reliable and enabled us to drive away in our new car within the hour. Drove an hour to come here and did not disappoint. Could not recommend enough!!

I'm a cautious chap but I do know my cars. I saw an advert for a Golf bluemotion on Autotrader and it stood out in terms of price so I thought it worth a look. I lined up a few cars in the Bolton area to look at and turned up unannounced, as i do. Scott handed me the keys to the car and left me alone to have a good look over it. No sales chat or unrealistic promises. After viewing all the cars in the area it was a clear winner. Excellent condition and great value. I'd never buy a car from someone I didn't like and Scott was really easy to deal with. No messing about. Scott, if you are ever over in Wales give me a know and we'll go for a pint. Anyway, I paid my money and drove away. Straight away I took the car to my garage for a safety check and the garage confirmed what I already know. Bargain! I know nothing about cars and was therefore worried about going out and buying one with only a description from autotrader and an address. This little dealership is tucked down a little back street and I admit to being a bit scared,but I had absolutely no reason to be. The salesman was so friendly despite being rushed off his feet. He offered to collect me from the bus station, drove me into town to the bank and then stayed late ( he obviously had a delivery to make) while I sorted out tax and insurance. Nothing was too much trouble. The car was exactly as described with all the paperwork and I am thrilled with my purchase. I can't recommend Lane Autos enough.

Went to look at a ford fiesta for sale at Lane Autos with the cash and the real possibility of buying the vehicle but after my experience I'm happy that I walked away I was doing simple diagnostic checks at first on the car I ask if it was ok to do this and he seemed ok with it but then he became impatient saying what are you doing u just sitting there I tried to explain that I was just checking the vehicle properly before I think of Buying I Can't see what his problem was them he became more impatient and sarcastic/rude if there's problem it would come up on the engine warning light then went to say I don't like you putting the diagnostic check on the vehicle it might break lol I try to explain that it shows up any Problems and The fact that it's a cat C who wouldn't do the extra checks o Yeah 3 owners not 1 and also on top of that there was no car history/paper work showing the repairs of the damage of the write-off claim suspicious! so I just thought at that point handing back the keys thanks for the attitude best thing to work away I ain't saying it's a bad guy/place to buy a car from what I am saying has all the signs to me pointing that way maybe he was having a bad day I don't know but I thought if you wanted to sell the car that he would be except that I would want to thoroughly check the vehicle test drive ask questions but seemed not interested with that I wasn't just going to handover cash without checking my advice personally I wouldn't go there again or recommend Lane Autos.
