PLEASE BE AWARE! I write this to avoid anyone else going through the worry, upset and financial loss as we have. My 80 year old dad purchased a 2008 car for the best part of £3000 . A car he hoped would last him a good few years. Eleven months later when he has come to renew the MOT, the car is a complete MOT failure as the subframe and chassis is completely rotten and has been previously filled with fibreglass filler and painted over. Something my dad could not have been aware of. He trusted he was paying good money from a garage that states it provides its customers with a five star service and goes above and beyond to do so. The facts … When I phoned Phil from the little motor company, he said he sold a tidy car 11 months ago and is not prepared to financially help. He was sarcastic, rude, sniggered and trying to take the conversation to an argument. Something I didn’t want to enter in to. It is irrelevant that he claims he has sold hundreds of good cars. He has sold my dad a car that is not safe to be on the road. Would cost too much to repair and is only worth scrap value. I tried to appeal to Phil’s good nature which he clearly doesn’t have. Asking him to consider the situation if this were his father/grandfather. I think the fact he only has three cars for sale and is winding down his business shows that he is not the thriving trusted car sales company he claims to be. His last words to me were “ go down the legal route”. I don’t think my 80 yr old dad wants to spend his time with the stress this can cause going down this route. So it looks like you have got away with this one Phil! Very unfortunate for my dad . Especially as he parted with his savings to purchase the car and is now left with no car and no savings. Which also takes away his independence in being able to get out and about. And now , sadly he can’t.
