After needing a RELIABLE car to get to and from work and to carry my young children (1 of which has medical needs which mean he cannot walk for too long a period of time) we found a white 2010 plate 5 door Astra with black stripes on the roof and bonnet for sale on their website which seemed brilliant value, low mileage, good features advertised and with a very enticing 2 year warranty to go along with it. Seemed perfect! Regular contact with the garage provided information about the vehicle including what features it had for example Bluetooth enabled facility etc and we were encouraged to attend the garage to view the car in person. Me and my partner made a 3 hour journey to the garage to view the car and while they had stayed late a little past closing time (roadworks etc on our route) we arrived at the garage to find the car already pulled up at the entrance ready for test drive which we managed to do for all of a few minutes down the road due to the time. The car seemed good at first look to someone looking around a car who is not a mechanic, signs of wear and tear cosmetically on the outside which you would expect to see on a 10 Yr old car I'm sure but the car was supplied with an mot which listed minor advisories and nothing major. Car was purchased along with the 2 year warranty paperwork being supplied. The member of staff completed the paperwork and said he was off to the pub for a pint and was gone before we had pulled off from the side of the road after completing his sale. We then completed the 3 hour drive home again, all seemed well other than the fact that the Bluetooth did not seem to work even though it was an advertised feature! Upon returning home the car was booked in for a vehicle safety check at a local garage for peace of mind and to my shock the garage found a number of issues - tyres heavily cracked and worn on the inside, uneven braking on the back, discs pretty badly scored and worn, handbrake cable loose, and most concerningly the sump plug had been siliconed in place to they can only assume hide an oil leak!! I was completely shocked to find this was the case and very upset to find I had driven the car on a 3 hour journey home at motorway speeds. A full brake check was then completed also where they found the brake sliders to be seized on the back which was causing the uneven braking. After this information coming to light the decision was made to put the car through another MOT test (at our cost!) because the issues found did not match the one supplied with the car which was extremely worrying! The MOT tester did a thorough and legal MOT test and listed a number of concerns on the new certificate (not mentioned on other recent certificate) and the garage told me that quite frankly the previous MOT was not worth the paper it was written on. They told me the siliconed sump plug was big cause for concern because it can only have been done to hide bigger issues with oil leaks and a costly repair having to replace a sump. The car was only driven to this garage on the occasions listed above for tests and straight home again, I was now left with a car sat not being driven and not fit for purpose for a reliable, safe, family car and over £3500 out of pocket! 2 months of car tax and insurance also paid out for a car that was sat not being moved or used and not to mention over £250 spent on ubers in these 2 months to and from school runs and work because I am stuck with no car! A quote given by our local garage to fix these issues found came to £1600! These issues were pointed out to LNK MOTORS who offered nothing, in fact the Blame was put on us for not seeing these issues while doing our 'due diligence' checks while looking at the car - I would like to see how anyone would know a sump plug had been siliconed in to hide issues or to see seized brake sliders or cracks on insides of tyres without having a car on a ramp, wheels taken off or with a mechanic to hand, when you buy from a garage you expect the car to be safe, legal and these checks to have been done. You also expect to be getting what you have paid for, a reliable and trustworthy purchase and a positive experience! After an email trail of back and forth an insulting £250 was offered by LNK towards the repairs - their offer was rejected! This was obviously offensive and was subsequently upped to £500 'in full and final offer' this also was rejected. My partner upon following legal advice was in contact with them with regards to how things stood and after them being unwilling to pay for the repairs which we should not have had to pay for - after back and forth emails they eventually opted to collect the car and refund the cost of the car - as a sign of 'goodwill' they wanted to point out they would refund the cost of the car and the 2 payments of insurance and tax I had paid out for while the car was useless sat there. Refund received although I am still left out of pocket on an MOT test which should not have been necessary, around £250 I had to spend on taxis every week while the car sat there unroadworthy outside my house, not to mention a wasted trip and nearly a full tank in my partners car on the 3 hour journey there and back again and quite frankly the impact of the stress the whole purchase has caused me and my family! The possible outcome of potentially failed brakes or a blow out from a heavily cracked tyre on the motorway does not bare thinking about! The car was collected only last week to my shock by someone not in a tow truck but someone who was actually driving it 3 hours back to the garage! To my disappointment I have noticed that the car is also already back up for sale (at an even higher price than I paid!) I only hope the price increase is to cover the cost of the repairs which I hope have been carried out for the next buyers sake! I have found this whole situation extremely stressful and have certainly been put off purchasing in future from a garage that you expect to be hassle free. I now find myself carless still with young children and I will not be looking to LNK for the next purchase!

I expressed interest in one of LNK’s advertised vehicles. I’m so glad I did as I wasn’t disappointed. The team were pleasant and patient. Jason kept in touch with me throughout and couldn’t do anymore to help. You don’t feel pressured by pushy salespeople. I test drove on the Saturday and the car was ready to go on the Tuesday morning. (Monday was a bank holiday) The car came with an extended two year warranty which give me extra peace of mind. I even received a complimentary gift bag filled with car products as well as brand new company car mats and fuel to drive away with which was also a nice touch. I purchased a Vauxhall Insignia from here back in September. I had a couple of issues with it but the aftercare was fantastic and I can't fault them at all. The car was clean and in really good condition when I received it and a very good price. I would definitely recommend to friends and family.
