Bought a car off of Long Eaton Motor Company and when I got the car the gears were stiff to get into 1st, 2nd and reverse gear. When I took it back they told me nothing was wrong with it and they greased up the linkages but I have still got the same problem. Then my car broke down and was back there for repair. Although they told me they would ring me as soon as its fixed they never rang so I had to call them first to then be told its been ready for a few hours. Now my car makes a funny noise and after ringing them to book back in the garage they told me everytime I have took the car back there is nothing wrong with it, so when I took the car in yet again they tried fobbing me off with the same thing saying there is no noise coming from the engine, but to bring it back when it gets worse so they know where the problem is coming. This is even though ive took it to my mechanic who took the time to look at my car found and found the problem of it being a auxiliary belt tensioner. All that the people at Long Eaton Motor Company have done so far is to fob me off even though the car is under a warranty and I only had it for 3 months. They have very poor communication and aren't as helpful as they make out they are when they see you walk in willing to purchase a car.

I bought a car from Long Eaton Motor Company in April of last year. A BMW 320d for £10,000 In under a year I have had the following; 3x blown bulbs Squeaking breaks caused by low quality pads put on just before LEMC sold the car. This caused high pitched squeaking on breaking - £59 for front and rear brakes to be stripped, cleaned and greased. No pressure on windscreen fluid - Washer pump - £29.50 2 Front Tyres (Michelin run flats) - just over £300 (new tyres needed within 3 months of purchase. Front not rear - Embassy tyres described as old and worn and not due to driving style) Turbo failure (car roadsided) - exchange turbo unit Dual Mass/Flywheel/Clutch - car not slipping into gear smoothly and juddering on starting. Oil and Filter (Brand ADI - not recommended Castrol or Mobile) - Combined cost £1187.30 (Dale at LEMC did say he would stand by his vehicle and do it as cost.......before then charging £380 on top for labour.) It now also requires a glow plug and glow plug controller which the estimate I have is £400. The parts that LEMC have put on the car are all unbranded, questionable parts and the oil put in is 'ADI' and not the recommended Castrol or Mobile, which means to prevent engine issues I am being advised that the oil should be changed to a proper brand. In under a year this vehicle has cost me over £2000 and those problems currently show no sign of stopping. Having spent £10,000 to buy the car of my dreams, I cannot put into words how disappointed I am. Part of that disappointment is in the vehicle, but my main disappointment is in Long Eaton Motor Company. They use low quality parts, they try to fob you off with sales talk of how you car 'will now be like a formula 1 car and you will now be racing around' to deflect from actually talking about what work has been done and where. It was also particularly galling to think Dale was helping me deal with the problems on the car he sold me, but then to charge me just under £400 on top of all the other costs to make more profit off me. My advice, there is no car available there that is not available everywhere else. I could have bought the same car with the same mileage from 6 different dealers within 10 miles of me. I made a poor choice and went to Long Eaton Motor Company. I advise you to choose differently and avoid this very negative experience, these extra costs and all the hassle involved with trying to get the vehicle back on the road.
