Twice I have been to lookers in Chelmsford and the service has been dismal. Staff who can barely manage to leave their chairs and have a very lazy attitude if they don’t like the look of you. Needless to say and went to another dealership!
We had to take our Jaguar into this Dealer as the Service light could not be turned off via the Dashboard reset at our local garage. After multiple phone calls between Jaguar and Lookers they decided they were able to reset the light for a small charge. When we collected the vehicle they said that they were unable to reset the light via the Dashboard and finally had to reset via computer. They charged us £185 for what was clearly a fault with the vehicle. The Service Manager said that was their standard charge and they would not do anything about it. Not quite sure why we should have been charged for a fault, but had no choice but to pay. We would not use this Dealer again even if they were the last one on earth.
If I could give -10 stars I would. Having read the reviews, most of which are shocking, I thought I might be an exception..... How wrong could I be... what an absolute shambles of a place. Whilst I accept things happen, what I refuse to accept it downright disingenuous customer service. Lookers Chelmsford should advertise their after care as just after.. no care and definitely no service. Care or service is does not figure or apply to any part of their vision or philosophy. They are disgustingly unprofessional and do not have an ounce of professional courtesy within any fibre of their very existence. I have had a shockingly appalling experience at the hands of this dealership and would advise all to avoid this pile of ‘something’ at all costs. From the front of the service department to the after sales management is a joke! You should be ashamed of yourselves!! 1) For a two hour job - my car was kept onsite for 3 days.... 2) I was charged £155 for an investigation whilst the car was still under warranty - how does that work? - fraud I’d say.... 3) The after sales manager acknowledged this and only offered a 50% refund, although the service manager admitted this wasn’t correct.... 4) The after sales manager refused to come and explain her decision, and I was subsequently ushered out of the dealership I was then informed that I would need to leave the car with the dealership for a further 2 occasions of which they couldn’t confirm when. This place, and I call it a place, out of respect for other dealerships , would benefit from a few lessons in morality, custom service and professional etiquette. IT IS A DOWNRIGHT DISGRACE. I will be posting more as my ordeal continues.
well i must say after purchasing in the region of six range rovers and having GAP every time which tells you if your car is written off you are placed in a new vehicle. well good luck with that my vehicle was written off and have asked range rover to look into as mine is the second vehicle for no reason had a blow out tyre sheared off of the front wheel spinning me on the motorway and writting off my vehicle. purchased a new vehicle from lookers land rover in chelmsford and paid a deposit and was told delivery in April now they tell me delivery not possible until the finance is paid in full. my insurance have agreed the value which pays the finance. GAP are asking for every detail and delaying my new vehicle. i have not had one response from anyone in Range Rover to which i am totally disgusted and now next week passing onto a solicitor who has stated he will take the case on. there are problems every day in life but its how you deal with them and i must say when i,m spending money they are all over you like a rash have a problem and they posts you from department to department shame on you range rover.

Lookers Chelmsford branch took a £500 deposit from me for a Landrover, didn’t return my calls then after I’d arranged car finance, I was told they’d already sold the car 2 weeks earlier - disgraceful service!
