I was sold a car in January 2022 by Mark Lewis. I was asked to pay for the car in full before collection which I refused to do. On the day of purchase I was kept waiting at Mark Lewis’s desk for ages before sale was complete due to multiple visits to the mechanics garage by Mark Lewis to see if the car was ready after it’s “service” despite arranging collection days in advance. I was eventually told by Mark Lewis that the car was ready but there was a tyre pressure light on the car but this was following its service and would go off after an hour of driving. I had a witness present. Turns out this light was actually the tyre pressure sensor that was no longer working! Within the year I emailed to discuss this. I received a very brief response from a Daniel Same who said he would pass on my complaint. I emailed again 3 weeks later and received a reply from a Gary Miles stating was original email could not be found. I then had to wait a further 2 weeks for an official reply where I was told by Gary Miles I was out of warranty. When I pointed out that I was not out of warranty when I originally emailed, I was then offered to have this fault fixed free of charge if I paid for the part! But when I told Gary Miles a garage local to me had already fixed this fault and replaced the part, his reply was “we did not find any reason to consider a fault existed at point of sale and as it was nearly a year it would be considered a wear and tear item”. I have multiple emails from this branch that are contradictory and I will be passing my complaint onto a third party.

Recently purchased a Touareg 4X4 from Marshall VW Horsham, sold to me by (Mathew Blackman). From the Test Drive on Day 1 I have had issues with the Car which they promised would be fixed before Picking up / buying. When I had picked up the Car & Drove 5 Mins down the road & realized they had not fixed any of the Problems, Steering Alignment / Tracking out & a big Vibration at 60 MPH i Phoned the Dealer ASAP. After various attempts & weeks later to fix the Car (3 Visits in Total) the Wheels were Refurbed & Re Balanced for the 2nd Time which seem to fix the issue. I had to get the Tracking fixed myself at my cost as they did not bother. When cleaning the Car I had noticed some Corrosion on the Rear Boot Lid in 3 places, i contacted the garage straight away & spoke to(James Fisher) & explained the situation to him. The Car went back again to the Dealer who insisted he would get the Paintwork Fixed. 4 Days later returned to find all they had done was Polish the Corrosion not Respray the Panel. this is just not acceptable in my eyes on a £21,000 6 Year old Car sold by a VW Dealer. I had to take the Car back home because i needed it for Work. Have since been to another Garage (Paint Sprayer) to look at the car & they have stated that the Whole Boot Lid will need re spraying to get a good acceptable finish. After multiple Calls & Emails to Marshalls to try & get this sorted i am getting no Response whatsoever. Now seeking legal action with Marshall VW to have the work completed elsewhere & claim my Money back. If you look at the Latest Reviews for Marshall VW Horsham there is a common theme appearing of unhappy Customers who cannot get a response when an issue arises. just not good enough from a VW Dealer. expected better Service from (Mathew Blackman, Salesman) (James Fisher, Aftersales) (Elliott Crosby, Dealer Principle) who seem to have all just washed there Hands of this. Stay well Clear.

Speaking from experience, Marshall’s is probably an entity that you may wish to stay clear from and here’s why; purchased a Polo under approved used scheme in April 2022. This was the second one we had as the initial car had faults and thus, exchanged, and so does the new one, woohoo!! The car I purchased from Marshall’s group just doesn’t simply drive in a straight line, and veers to the left. Meaning the whole time you’re driving, you’re wheel is at a 20 degree angle to go straight, but according to Sales Executive Mark Lewis, this is completely normal for a Polo GTI..? Therefore I should just enjoy it how it is? 3 attempts have been made to rectify and they still cannot sort the problem. Elliott Crosby, the Sales Manager never calls back as promises nor responds to any customer emails. As a customer I feel completely fobbed off by this dealer and feel like I’m a massive inconvenience every time I have to report an issue. Hopefully allowing a buy back for me and I shall take my business elsewhere. I’m hoping that Marshall’s will for once pose me something responsible, take accountability and allow me to hand the car back over without getting VWFS involved. After sales manager was only helpful guy. My own local VW dealer after sales manager handed the car back to me and said that the car doesn’t drive right, but seems to intricate for steering alignment and sounds way more serious …still not enough for Marshall’s to believe though…new customers, beware of the low standards of vehicle condition and lack of customer support from the staff here.

"20k car with aircon not working"

Terrible experience!! I bought a 20k in April everything was fine until I tried to use the aircon during the heat wave and it was faulty. I wrote to the gentleman who sold me the car and I explained that the aircon wasn’t working. He replied this: “ I have been advised by our aftersales team that aircon servicing is only recommended every 2 years and not compulsory. As part of our 142 point check, we do check to make sure the aircon is working correctly and at point of sale it was working correctly. Unfortunately, If 4 months later yours is not working that is not something we can control and these things can happen. If it is not something covered under warranty we can’t be expected to pay for a cars faults or work that is needed throughout ownership.” Basically I bought a 20K car where the Aircon isn’t working and they don’t care whether it’s working or not. Very embarrassing service!!

I have owned VW's most of my life and have never felt so frustrated with my experience as a customer having booked by car in for a service last week. When collecting the car I was told that it may need a Carbon Filter fitted to it, the Service Advisor then proceeded to inform me of the potential cost of the repair at which point I advised him that my car was on warranty. I was then told he would need to check this out and that he would get back to me ASAP, two days lapsed and no update from VW, I made numerous phone calls including two visits to the site asking that the Advisor dealing with my car call me. Given that I did not get a response added to the fact that I could not get through by phone (in a Que for over 20 minutes) I attended for a second time at this point increasingly agitated by the lack of consideration given to me by not calling me. It was at this time that the Manager became involved who showed empathy and offered direction to his Advisor confirming within minutes that my car was covered on warranty and that the work could be completed. However having booked the car in for the essential works on Monday the Advisor informed me that the part was not registered on the system at VW and that they were waiting for confirmation that the part would arrive, it was agreed that the work would be competed today and that I would be able to collect it, I stipulated that I needed the car back today at the latest. At 5pm today the Advisor phoned me to say that the part was in and that it had not been fitted due to not having the authorization from the warranty team to fit it, this after it had been confirmed that I was covered to have the work done, you really couldn't make it up! Needless to say very disappointed with my customer experience to date which brings into question whether I would willingly book my car in again with VW at Horsham?

Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear that the levels of service you experienced were not to your satisfaction but i would like to clarify some points. Your vehicle was diagnosed and the fault confirmed. We were unable to identify the required part as it was not listed on the VW Parts finder, this resulted in the Parts technical team having to assist us. The part was ordered the following day. It was then discovered when processing your warranty claim that the policy had expired some two days previous. This made it impossible to process the claim online and resulted in us having to contact the DAS Welt warranty team via phone. Correspondence between us and the warranty company added a delay due to skeleton staff in this department, thus delaying the claim process. Once this was authorized the repairs were carried out swiftly and the vehicle was ready for collection. When making warranty claims, procedures laid out by the manufacturer have to be adhered to which does result in a delay in carrying out repairs. On this occasion, this was increased due to a reduced workforce here at the Dealership and within the Warranty department at VWUK due to the current Covid-19 pandemic. I can only apologise for this delay and hope this offers you some explanation.

After buying 5 cars at VW Horsham it's time I recorded how great the staff are. Both sales and service departments are second to none. Today I took car no. 5 in for the first service. I needed the car urgently for 12.00 and had a 40 min walk from home. I had a call at 10.30 to say my car was ready. You can't ask for more than that. If I've had an issue with a car ( which has been very rare) the problem has been addressed immediately.
