The Service at Martin Brothers Motor Company was 1st class,The salesperson was very professional and most helpful throughout, would certainly recommend.
i saw a renault grand scenic at martin brothers and tried phoning to arrange a viewing but got no answer ,i saw that you could leave £100 to book a viewing so i did this and it was taken out of my bank on 28/10/19 ,i booked a rental car as i did not have a car at the time ,i went through to look at the car and was very disappointed as the drivers seat was ripped the wings and front doors had a gap that was uneven and the bonnet was higher than the front panel, i told tim the salesman this and asked about the £100 being returned but was told it was not returnable , so i looked around for another car, there was a zafira sri i liked so said i would have it , i was told it would be ready a week on monday to get the mot test and service done, i went home and waited the saturday before i phoned to arrange collection details and was told the steering pump was not right but it would still be ready for collection on monday, monday came and i phoned again and it was still not ready and phoned again next day and was put through to the service department where the manager said he did not know when it would be ready, i said i needed a car as i did not have one, and i was hiring a car to see cars, the manager said he would refund the £100 and it would be in my account on the following monday, this came and went so i phoned again, and again the manager said the money would be refunded ,again nothing went in my bank. i am totally fed up with this treatment, evans halshaw take a £99 fee which was refunded within two days, martin brothers should take a leaf out of other dealers books.

Rang Martin Brothers Motor Company on 12/08/19 re: a Mazda3, spoke to Tim. Explained that we would be travelling 150 miles each way to view the car so asked for honest condition of the car. “Mint condition” was the response. Paid £100 deposit over the phone to reserve the car for viewing on 17/08/19. Arrived after 3hr drive. No one around, went to look at the car. Car had a sign in the window congratulating us on our purchase. While a nice gesture, we had only come to view it, not committed to buy. 15 minutes later Tim appeared, explained that he was alone due to a sick colleague and that he was stressed out. No customer service, no “how was the 150 mile journey?”, no pleasantries or even an offer of a drink. Tim just complained about how busy he was. The car drove well. Inspection of the car revealed that, cosmetically, it certainly wasn’t mint as described. A dozen or so deep scratches, a large scuff on the front bumper and 4 badly corroded wheels. Very poor for 16 plate with only 27k. Not the dealers fault but none of this was mentioned over the phone. Despite this, my partner still wanted the car. We sat down in the office with Tim. Tim asked what we thought. I gave my thoughts on the poor condition of the car. A sharp “well if you don’t want it, then don’t have it” was his response. Both shocked, we continued the conversation. Every concern I voiced re: the condition was met with the same ““well if you don’t want it, then don’t have it”. Frankly, an appalling attitude. It only got worse as Tim constantly spoke over us and interrupted us mid-sentence at almost every opportunity he had. At one point my partner attempted to restart an interrupted sentence 3 times only for Tim to continue talk over her. Not willing to pay the full asking price, usually I would have just walked away given its condition but reluctant to travel 300 miles and return empty handed, I asked for movement on the price. Initially, Tim said there wasn’t any movement. After discussing the condition of the wheels Tim left the room to call the owner of the business. Tim returned shortly afterwards, threw himself back in his chair, shrugged his shoulders and said “we will just give you back your £100”. Confused as to whether this was a £100 discount or if he had just rudely advised there wasn’t a movement on price, I asked for clarification of what he meant. “There is no movement on price” he said. Tim then explained that they had reduced the car by £1000 just last week and that the price it was reduced from was £11,495. My partner pointed out that the asking price is currently £10,995 so it had only been reduced by £500 surely. While questioning this Tim then threw his hand up in my partners face, palm facing her and abruptly said “let me finish!”. Absolutely furious, my partner demanded the £100 back immediately and told Tim we were no longer interested. Tim tried to recover, starting with his excuses that it was done in £500 increments etc. but what he failed to realise was that the price wasn’t the issue. It was his arrogance, his appalling attitude and the fact he was just down right rude throughout the entire conversation from start to finish. Tim left the room, walked past 2 waiting customers who had heard everything, returned and started to process the refund. Meekly, Tim then re-attempted to explain what he meant but it was too late. My partner raised her hand in Tim’s face this time and said “I don’t want to know, just process the refund”. The refund was processed and Tim then turned his back on us in the office. My partner asked “is it done?”. Tim ignored her. She asked again, “yeah we are done” he responded. A full day and 300 miles worth of fuel wasted because Tim had no manners or customer service skills. Shocking and disgusting.

Beware of Martin Brothers Motor Company! Very slick and polished but they sell unroadworthy cars and after sales service is dreadful. Bought a car from them and had to return 20 minutes later due to engine fault. 30 days later I had yet to have my new car for more than 48 hours. Trying to obtain a refund was a nightmare, fobbed off time and time again. Eventually had to physically sit on Nick Martin's desk before he would issue a refund! You have been warned!
