We went to Newport yesterday to purchase a car for my son on finance, we were aware in advance that although he’s 18 and passed his testa. Few days ago he has zero credit this could be unsuccessful. The finance was declined - Michael was very blunt and quite frankly rude, he was going on annual leave from today so I just put this down to holiday mode, it happens to the best of us. I called this morning to see if my daughter could go guarantor ( unfortunately I’m at early stages of changing mortgages so it’s not an option for myself) I was advised siblings can’t, I asked could she buy the car instead and was told no as it’s illegal. Now My daughter has been looking for a car with you for a few months, way before my son passed his test there’s email exchanges to prove this, as she’s been emailing Michael. after showing her the car she decided that she would purchase the car for herself and pass her old car to mason where he could trade it in for another car and use the money to buy a run around until he builds his credit rating, I had no issues with siblings looking out for each other, she proceeded to reserve the car, pay the hold deposit and complete the finance forms, on checking the finance forms there was discrepancy on the price and checked this with George, yesterday there was no admin fee/transfer fee we were told by Michael they were removed and the quote was £236.17 including 2 years extended warranty or £220 without this and just the 3 months free warranty, after exchanging a few emails for clarification as this price was now over £240 with no warranty her hols payment was refunded and the car released as apparently her transaction is setting off alarm bells as her brother enquired yesterday - are you telling me that because my sons finance has been declined any attempt off sale from our family is going to be refused as suspicious? I’m absolutely disgusted by the way my family has been treated, there was no questions asked you’ve just totally disregarded her purchase. For context this is a branch we have used on many occasions over the years buying all class of cars and always had a pleasant experience which is why we have always returned until now, I can safely say that you have lost any future business from myself and my family and I’ll ensure I share our experience, this is probably the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.

I just wish you can find a honest garage which is getting hard and harder every day list in this car which 2020 Apple CarPlay and Android auto when I ask about said not in the term of conditions have to be working from motorpoint I think this is wrong and false advertisement if you listed in in your on spec on you own website too you should make sure it working before putting the car up for sale and to said you don’t like return in the 7 days bad service

Travelled over 110 miles to pick up the specific car. Was in contact with the dealership for many days prior figuring out specifics etc, only for them to tell me when when I got there that they had lost the keys 3 days prior. So shoddy. Zero stars if I could

This will be the last car we buy from Motorpoint. Make sure when you buy your car you check the bodywork thoroughly. They seem to get the car polished with a coating and then when you wash it for the first time, you get to see the real state of the bodywork. After attempted polishing, by their valeters, you will then be left with extensive swirl marks that look terrible in sunlight and only half of the scratches reduced. Yet they will tell you the car is at Motorpoint standard. It would seem that their standards have gone downhill massively compared to the last time we bought a car from them. On top of that within 40 minutes of driving it out of their showroom we had multiple fault lights on the Dash which then required a 30 mile trip to Audi only available a month after purchase. It's no wonder when you look this year that Motorpoint made their first financial loss.
Bought a car with them and the brakes failed. After taking it to the manufacturer's garage they found that the brakes had been wrongfully fitted causing additional damage. The bill is roughly £5,000+ but Motorpoint could only offer us £120 after selling us a car with incorrectly fitted breaks. Their reasoning for only covering the cost is that it should have happened sooner if it was their problem. I would personally not bother with any of their extra warranty since they will just act like snakes to get out of only covering as little as they can.
Bought a jaguar,when I drove out thought there’s a funny smell but was assured that it was fine,went to drive it the next day couldn’t get it of the drive phoned them they picked it up,gear box had gone plus clutch had my money back plus my mini which I part ex,no apology,my sister in law asked how much I had paid for it?I told her mind your own business she phoned motorpoint and they actually told her how much I had paid for it,so sorry folks,confidential information doesn’t exit at motorpoint Newport,Gwent.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at the Newport Office in particular Mark William who made the whole experience seem less and painless during my visit on the 10th May. From the moment of entering the building to the point of leaving Mark explained the process involved in my part exchanging my vehicle to the purchase of my new one. Coffee, and hot food was provided during our visit and the overall friendliness of the staff was low key and very obliging. Well done Mark, John and the rest of the guys. Will certainly recommend your company to my friends and family. Spit on.

Went pick up new car after waiting 30 minutes in cafe feeling if I was being ignored I was told I need go to customer service which I waited another 10 minutes I was then showed to the car to examine in which I fond a large scratch on rear wing plus pull handles not working to release middle row of seats.then after another 30 minutes just to be told car need go back to main dealer and they couldn’t tell a date for which car be ready after numerous apologies I walked out cancelling order also I was promised the car would be ready for me and this car had gone through two workshops obviously they hadn’t checked the car

Beware do not buy from this dealer, I made the mistake of buying a 2016 Peugeot 308 SW back in 2017. Nothing but trouble with the bodywork, first fault 3 of the 4 rear sensors fall into the bumper, then numerous rust spots started to appear on roof six months later. And to top it off the two passenger side doors have started rotting. All of these body/paintwork defects prove unquestionably that my car was involved in an accident and was inadequately repaired before I purchased it in 2017 DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER

Bought and MG3. Looked lovely and only 2 years old. I bought it due to the 4 year MG warranty. When the car turned up it looked lovely apart from the wheel nut which had a little rust. You have a week to see if you like the car or to give it back. The car drove great and the milage was low and as far as the rust on the wheel nuts was concerned, it was easily rectified and I thought a bit lazy by motorpoint not to pay attention to detail. Anyway i kept the car and got some wheel nut covers, which look fab. 2 months on I've notices rust blisters of above the windshild. Closer inspection they've been touched up and also undr the bonnet more rust. Really shocking when they say the cars are inspected and sold looking like new.
