Bought a car here last March and at the time did not check if the air con was working, my fault. Just before the 3 months warranty had expired I took the car there as the air con was not working. Was told the condenser was damaged and it would cost £650 to replace and found the way I was told this very strange, specially a comment made 'oh £650 to replace the condenser, unlucky!' I paid the £48 for the diagnostic and said I was going to think about it. A few days later I decided to take the car to Sywell Garage for an air con test. I did not mention a test had been done before. It turns out the air con only needed a re-gas and the bill was £140! I then confronted Newman & Reidy and they kept insisting that I take the car there for them to test it again! I refused as I had lost all trust in them. I offered to wait for 3 months on the following terms: * If the air con was still working they would repay me £48 + £140. * If it was not working they would not need to repay anything. I also offered that they could repay me the £48 immediately and that would be it from my end. I was not surprised that they decided to pay me the £48 instead of waiting 3 months. It has now been well over 3 months now and the air con is still working perfectly, so I guess they saved £140! Be very wary when dealing with Newman & Reidy, that's my advice! I remember the conversations that you and I had and I was of the opinion that we had reached an amicable agreement at the time but it seems you wish to revisit it once again? In light of this public comment then I feel it only appropriate to respond to you in the same medium to give balance. We also have copies of the email interaction between us and are more than happy to show them to anyone who may be interested to see them. I remember the day well, you came into the showroom and started raising your voice with the service receptionist. My office is next to service reception so I popped out to see what the problem was and to see if I could help? It transpired that we had carried out a check on your air conditioning system on the 13th June as you said it wasn't working. As you state, you had owned the car for almost 3 months by then so we checked the system and found that the condensor was damaged. We explained that it was impact damage, maybe a stone, and unfortunately this would not be covered under the terms of the warranty. You seem to imply that we made light of the situation, whereas in fact we commiserated with you and said that it was unlucky that the damage had occurred. Perhaps you misunderstood? You did not want us to repair the system, you paid your £48 diagnostic fee and left. Fast forward to the day you were raising your voice (21st June) and you tell me that the system has been re gassed by a local garage that morning and they state there was nothing wrong with it and you were demanding your £48 back. My service advisor explained that in his opinion the system was damaged but you replied that the other garage said it was not. To take the heat out of the situation I suggested that we take another look at the system at our expense to see if the fault/damage was there, we could measure the gas content and if there was a leak then our original diagnosis was correct and the £48 charge would stand, but if the system was still full then we would happily reimburse your fee. You were happy with this solution and a date was agreed between yourself and I (27th). The next thing we know is we receive an email on the 27th stating that you will not be bringing the car in today and that you now want the £48 fee refunding and the £132 you spent at the other garage as well! I replied the same day that as you had now changed our previous agreement (and were now asking for more money) it was more important than ever to check the system, as either Sywell garage or ourselves was clearly wrong but that you were not allowing us the opportunity to check yours and their (reported) assertions. You responded that perhaps we could wait 3 months to see if the Air con was still working and for us to then refund you £180, "or you can refund me the £48 now." In the same email you also stated that you did not want another test carrying out, or to "waste" any more time. I replied the next day that if you would not let us carry out another test, then it would be impossible to come to a conclusion either way, therefore to save any more time and trouble (as you had requested) we would refund the £48 and call it a day. You then replied the next day asking why we wouldn't wait the 3 months but still stated that you did not want any further tests carrying out and that you accepted the £48 refund and would make no further claims with reference to this matter. We paid you the same day and you emailed us back thanking us for the refund and apologised that you did not go through with the test. We were open and transparent with you at all times, we agreed to your terms and genuinely wanted to know the answers. We were more than happy to admit our mistake if we were wrong, but to date, you haven't let us check your system so we still only have your word to go on, as we did 3 months ago. Our offer to check your system still stands 6 months later despite the fact you took the money as you agreed.
Great customer service in all aspects and very good sales team that help you get the car of your choice and make it such a breeze, would definitely recommend

I had been looking for a car for a while and came across the Hyundai i40 at Newman & Reidy and saw they had great reviews for customer service which is very important to me and so I contacted them and spoke to both Adam and Gary and travelled down to view/purchase the car. Everything had been done as promised and I am thrilled with the car. Adam went out of his way to make sure everything was done, as promised, ready for collection and kept in constant touch with me to make sure the car was 'good to go' when I arrived. It is nice and refreshing to know that there are still some honest and trustworthy car dealers out there who don't pressure you to buy and I would highly recommend their Company to all. I wouldn't hesitate in purchasing another car from them. 5* Company in every way!

Recently had awful trouble with a big loss of power on my Mercedes Vito. James the service manager went out of his way to help with the problem. We thought we had sorted things with a new air flow sensor but the problem came back. James then painstakingly checked everything over and got the van running beautifully again. The service team at Newman and Reidy provide outstanding service and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I booked a test drive on line on a Sunday and Monday morning I received a call to organise it that afternoon. Well, I have bought the Jaguar XK and got a great deal along with a beautiful car and extras. I have recommended Newman & Reidy to my wife and son in law without any reservations. The sales manager, Marcus , was a great help and even put £20.04 worth of petrol in it so as we could drive it away without worrying. I do feel like a valued customer which is what Marcus wanted and he succeeded. Oh yes, they have a lovely little MR2 going cheap as a summer runaround!

Called into Newman & Reidy on the off chance to find out what was rattling on my Subaru forrester. The car was on the ramp in 15 mins and I was shown the problem on the exhaust. The courtesy and information I was shown was refreshing. Very helpful staff and mechanic. Thank you.

I have had some issues with Focus from Newman And Reidy. They said they couldn't repair it as the car was out of warranty. The car was in really good condition when I received it and it was a good price but I wouldn't recommend this dealership based on the after sales.
