"The worst customer experience I’ve had."

Disgusting behaviour on every step of the way. Please please please be careful of using this company, I found my car through Auto trader, originally when speaking with Rob he was very informative and couldn’t do more to help but was a bit pushy with the holding fee didn’t think much of it, went to see the car loved it, brought my car with me, was evaluated on site and an agreement was made for a part ex. On the day of coming to get my car, the manager Andy asked to look at my car again, he then called Rob outside leaving me sitting there pretty awkward and uncomfortable, he then took me to my car and said he wasn’t happy with it, now nothing had changed with my car from the point it was seen to start, there was a cigarette burnt on the chair I had inherited from the previous owner which I disclosed over the phone and was visible when Rob valued it, the alloys on 2 of the wheels scuffed, again all on there prior. I then sat there whilst the manager said it was Robs fault and he was promised a lovely car and wasn’t getting one (at this point management belittling their staff I should of ran a mile, my car I was trading in was a great running low miles, yes it wasn’t perfect but I had taken car of it and the words he was using wasn’t very nice.) I only got a new car as we want to turn the new one into a camper so the car was not in bad nick, after going backwards and forwards on a new price for the part ex I agreed that instead of have the £500 returned to me a combo of my holding fee and the extra of my settlement figure to just call it £250 to stop the awkwardness. I wish this is where it ended….. I bought the car in the 16th of July, the 6th of August my old finance comes out when I question with the garage the finance hadn’t been paid off and I was told it wouldn’t be paid off until the last day of the settlement quote…… and told on the phone that’s the way it always is, now this is my 5th financed car and everyone I’ve spoken to including both finance companies agree this is not correct, I was being papped off once again by Rob in a very passive tone. I had to wait nearly a month for my holding fee to be refunded I kept calling and was told give it 2 more days, give it 1 more day, anything to shut me up basically. Until my husband had to call 4 times in a day and would you believe it I got the payment back the same day…… Now if this wasn’t all bad enough, I’ve now been charged late payment fees from my old finance company because they paid the settlement quote late…… I’ve emailed them with the emails from Alphera asking to be compensated and a reason why and shock horror im being ignored, followed up again and would you believe it…. Nothing from them, so I now have to pay fees that were not my fault to avoid it going on my credit file, thank everything the car itself hasn’t failed me but I urge people to run a mile I have honestly never been treated this way and I will ensure no one I know will go near them, not out of spite but just for the sheer stress and lack of customer service. Very professional and good service. Even in the obvious sellers market we felt treated with attention and respect unlike in other dealerships. Justin is a great salesman and despite his football affiliations it was a pleasure to make business with him. 5 stars, hands down

Found a specific vehicle I was after through the Autotrader @ Newmarket Motor Company ltd. From first point of contact the garage couldn’t do enough for me. Jeremy led the sale and was available for every query and did me a great deal on a vehicle and also to part-ex mine. Jeremy’s experience led a seamless sale and he even arranged shipping the vehicle 300 miles up the UK without a hassle. Would highly recommend Jeremy and Newmarket Motor Company as providing an excellent customer experience is at the forefront of what they do. I’m also delighted with my new wheels!!

Do not buy from these people. I viewed an Audi A1 that had been advertised as having 59k miles on the clock. Went for a test drive but found there to be a high pitched ringing sound which Jeremy said he thought was the fuel pump. I asked him to note this and to look into the cause and he agreed. I put a deposit down on the basis that I could test drive it again and that it would be ready in 7-10 days. I went away and it was then that my mum mentioned that the car in fact had 62.5k miles on the clock. A 3.5k difference which after asking 3 times they have not explained. I then had to text/call them daily to ask when the car would be ready and if the fuel pump issue had been looked into but was fobbed off every time. In the end it felt like they didn’t even want to sell the car. I have now asked for my deposit to be returned on the basis that the car was not as advertised and they have failed to provide any kind of service or the car itself and I’ve just been ignored. Jeremy showed no interest in providing any kind of customer service and instead of putting my mind at rest simply refused to answer my questions or talked over me. I’m £250 out of pocket and they are ignoring me. A horrible experience.,

Dear Claire I understood and accepted your whatsapp cancellation message and immediately agreed your credit card deposit refund in writing. We had no access to the business having been closed by COVID 19 but have now travelled and you will know your deposit has already been refunded. I am sorry you did not notice the confirmation in your spam emails. We have sold used cars for over 20 years and will not release them until we are happy they are in RAC approved condition. This is not an instant process. To answer your points I would answer as follows. We had a conversation by phone and I explained that the bodyshop had closed and staff had started furlough because of the pandemic announcement. I explained that I had the agreement of some staff to come in specifically to finish your car and that I would let you know as the job was completed and when it could be delivered but would need a flexible timeframe. I additionally offered to deliver the car to you. I further explained that an estimate of mileage is entered on the website when the car is first available which is updated as the car moves through preparation. We mention on the website that the car should be inspected on site for the correct specification which you did when you had a test drive. I note your order form states 61500 miles. I am sorry that we have not been able to move forward. I fail to see that we have been unhelpful or have fobbed you off

From first enquiry to final purchase, we were kept informed and fully involved. The car exceeded our expectations and arrived with everything that was needed done, and immaculately presented. Had аn amazing experience buying from Newmarket Motor Company. As I am a single woman it was hard for me to make a choice, but now I am absolutely in love with my new Audi. The staff was incredibly professional and not pushy at all. The helped me to find the car that met my budget. Low mileage and really and trully the cheapest Audi in the country. Very impressed with the customer service as they kept me updated all the time. I will definitely be coming back if or when I will decide to buy my next car. Many thanks, guys!

I recently purchased a Vauxhall Astra from Newmarket Motor Company. The salesperson was helpful and attentive and was not pushy, something which I had found previously at other dealerships. Great experience all round and highly recommend using Newmarket Motor Company for your next car purchase.

Bought a third car from Newmarket Motor company and definitely will come back as a customer again. Strongly recomend this car dealer. My new Volvo V60 absolutely lovely. All staff were very professional and helpful with making decision. Very spacious and modern showroom. Get outstanding customer service.
