I bought an Audi Allroad from Oakwood and it was one of my best car buying experiences. The price was fair and the trade-in excellent. The car was delivered to the door four days from paying the deposit and was exactly as described in the advert. The only small issue was a defective rear parking sensor which was replaced straight away and the car has been both impressive and faultless since then. Overall a very good experience.

please say away from this dealer this dealer just wants your money the after care is shocking dont phone you back . i had the car 8 weeks and the cam belt went this had been done before i got the car ye rite. So am £25000 OUT OF POCKET iv been trying to get them to pick the car up to fix it but just keep fobbing me off THIS PLACE IS A JOKE SO PLEASE PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THEM JUST RIP YOU OFF

Absolutely shocking !!!! I paid £1000 deposit for a JDM Subaru I waited several weeks for them getting the log book back, I since found a car that was in stock and decided to go for that car from a different company I rang up and explained the situation, he was disappointed but fine at the time telling me he would refund my money in 3-5 working days I the got an email from the accounts team seating that refunds are none refundable , I pushed and pushed and managed to get half of my money back! Not good enough They told me they would have to re advertise the car that wasn’t even advertised in the first place Also David the sales person lies through his teeth clearly, and what was most shocking the customer in the too Before me he called him special and on the spectrum after he left the room, me and my mate were left speechless Avoid this company at all cost, I am currently building up my case to take things further

Purchased a range rover sport from this garage, a very expensive cash purchase. Within 2 weeks of buying the car there was a problem which we had taken the vehicle back and they had corrected that problem for us as when we purchased the car it came with 6 months warranty. We also asked if they could fit us some side steps which was an extra cost which they done no problem. Always spoke with Dave who was very helpful as long as they were taking my cash! Fast forward to September 2022 the car broke down which we had to be towed home. We then rang the garage the following Saturday morning as the car still had a 10 days warranty. We had the car towed from the house to their garage, they told us to ring them on the Tuesday. Which we tried ringing but they never picked up the phone after several failed phonecalls. We then had to bus to their garage 9 miles away. We were told an auto electrician had looked at the car he couldn't find the fault what was wrong with it. They were going to have to book it into land rover. Fast forward to now 3 weeks they have had our vehicle their attitudes started to change towards us, when we went through again they said land rover couldn't find the fault so it had come back to their garage. They then said they were getting another auto electrician out by now this is 5 weeks. As phonecalls were not getting answered we had no choice but to bus back through to the garage. It Wasn't a very nice welcome we received, told we were not getting intouch with you as there was nothing to update you on! He got quite abrupt saying they have replaced the alternator, a fuel pump and a fuel filter to which the car has still got the fault and won't pull away. All he kept saying was this car stands us £700 considering we paid £29k cash!! Then he told us it was going back to a specialist land rover garage to which at this point we were fed up and felt we were being lied to and fobbed off. They were also offering to go down the trade in route but we were set to loose a lot of money having only bought the car just over 5 months ago. So we came to a decision in the office with them to take our car home unfixed and we had to pay for a tow truck to take it straight to a land rover garage for the work to be paid for by ourselves. Please just drive past this garage dont go in like we done. The customer care is beyond shocking and once they have your money they don't care! When we retrieved the car it had been standing in their compound the whole 5 weeks untouched. There was no alternator or fuel filter and fuel pump replaced after having land rover look at it when we dropped it off.

Now nearly five weeks and multiple emails/telephone messages after purchasing my XKR. Unfortunately still not had an answer to my request for a copy of the pre-sales service carried out to get the vehicle through a new MOT. Immediate coolant system leak discovered on completion of my 277 mile return journey! When the repair was completed by my local garage under the RAC warranty, multiple split flexible joint gaiteres were discovered, so how did this vehicle get a new MOT! Not surprising I have had no response. Tony Dowdeswell

Bought a car from here. Wish I never bothered. had to take it back first day we had it as engine warning light came on. gave me a "courtesy car with 12 miles in the tank and promised to reimburse me for fuel and time as I live about 25 miles away, then disputed when I tried to reclaim fuel.. Air con also didn't work. No valet done after asking three times, the owners response was "well I cant check every car that leaves so what do you want? I am short staffed you know" incredible. After saying it was a basic thing of selling a car he then rambled on to me me about how much it cost him to replace the faulty part of the car he sold me......boo hoo. Sun roof was also ripped and mouldy, he blamed me for that also. Please stay away from this absolute cowboy. He was incredibly argumentative and pedantic throughout our conversation. they say it had a 95 point check done etc, I got an mot done after for piece of mind......brakes and pads needed doing

I saw a BMW X6 registration number MF09 UPJ advertised on the Autotrader website on 14 May 2022 and was interested in purchasing the vehicle which was advertised with a mileage reading of 96,100 miles and having a valid MOT with no issues. On 16 May 2022, I visited the dealer Oakwood Specialist cars in Whitley Bay to view the vehicle. I was satisfied with the vehicle and paid a £300.00 deposit in good faith based on the mileage of 96,100 and a valid MOT. As the existing MOT was due to expire on 03 July 2022,I requested a new MOT should be carried out prior to collection of the vehicle. Prior to leaving the garage I was told that the vehicle would be sent for a new MOT on Monday 16 May. On Wednesday 18 May, having had no call or email from the garage, I called Dave the Sales Manager who I had met on Saturday 14 May to enquire about the results of the MOT. He told me that the vehicle had failed the MOT with some wear and tear issue and that these would be repaired immediately. As I was feeling anxious, I checked the Gov.uk website regarding the MOT failure. I was shocked to discover that : 1. The vehicle was failed in TWO DANGEROUS DEFECTS which were the front and offside lower suspension joints were likely to become detached, There was also another major defect regarding the Nearside Front Outer Drive shaft joint which needed immediate repair. 2. The mileage recorded on the failed MOT certificate carried out on 16 May was 104,648 miles. How could this be possible when on Saturday 14 May the mileage was recorded as 96,100 on my invoice? When I called Dave about the mileage discrepancy, I was told that this was human error. When I expressed my concerns about proceeding with the sale, I was told that my £300.00 deposit would not be returned as the money covered advertising costs for the vehicle. On Friday 20 May, I checked the Gov.uk website as I wanted to check the new MOT was ok. Imagine my surprise to discover that the mileage on the new MOT carried out on 20 May was now recorded as 96,334 MILES. HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT TWO MOT'S CARRIED OUT IN THE SPACE OF 4 DAYS SHOW TWO DIFFERENT MILEAGE READINGS AND ON THE NEW MOT THE MILEAGE HAD DECREASED BY 8000 MILES? By this stage, I was having major doubts about the honesty of Oakwood Specialist Cars. While rechecking the advert on Autotrader I decided to read a couple of the car dealer reviews left by recent customers. I was truly alarmed to read the customer reviews as detailed below: Scott B, March 2022 "Horrendous " 1 out of 5 stars Dealer's knowledgeable Vehicle cleanliness Value for money Resolving issues Worst experience ever buying a car regret it so much. Oakwood have had my car a dodgy MOT with dangerous and major failures passed with no advisories! Also an oil leak that was supposed to have been sorted amongst other things. Now ignoring emails and calls. Never heard so many lies. Absolute joke of a company. They look the part online but that’s about it. Zero credibility. Conning swines claiming now it’s over six months nothing can be done when we’ve been hounding them since 2 days after buying the car. Expensive but as a 1 owner car with 72000 on the clock it seemed reasonable. I used compare the market.com to source insurance only to find out that the companies offering insurance would not accept my 10 years + no claims discount as it had been earned on a motorhome. As the alternatives offered were too expensive I phoned Oakwood and ask them to hold delivery. I was able to phone back later that day having sourced affordable insurance but had missed my delivery slot. Fair enough. I waited to hear when the car could be delivered but heard nothing. Sunday's later I phoned and was told that there was a fault with the air conditioning and that a part had been ordered and would be be a few minutes job to fit. After a lengthy wait I phoned to ask what was happening and was told there was a problem obtaining the part. Several phone calls later I was told the air conditioning had been fixed but that a road test had shown other problems and that the car was going to be put through auction rather than sold to me. I was offered a refund or a choice of two other cars at a discounted price. These went acceptable and on the the 9th or 10th of August I've phoned to agree to have my deposit refunded. The sales person with whom I had been dealing, Dave, said that he was with a customer and would phone me back. Today day, the 13th, I phoned again to ask for my deposit. This brings me to my main complaint about Oakwood Specialist Cars. I have lost count of the number of times I have phoned only to be told to expect a call back which never happened. This to me is discourteous and unprofessional and I would not recommend this company to anyone. On the basis that Oakwood Specialist are clearly unprofessional, unreliable and untrustworthy, I will be seeking a full refund of my deposit as the advert was clearly misleading and there are major questions regarding the odometer readings. I will be taking the following action: 1. Contact the DVSA regarding the MOT mileage 2. Contact the RAC regarding how such an unprofessional business has approved dealer status. 3. Contact the Trading Standards Officer for the Local Council to investigate ALL the customer complaints against Oakwood Specialist
