When we purchased the BMW X5. We purchased the twelve months warranty after being assured we could take it to main dealer if any issues occurred. Ani The warranty covers everything including all costs. Nothing could be further than the truth. The warranty only covers up to £70 per hour BMW charge £180 it doesn’t cover diagnostics another £350 and if you actually read what it covers you might as well spend less and purchase your car from Joe blogs with a striped shirt and a mask This morning I telephoned pure cars and sales person gave me the same lies and then admitted he’s only been there a couple of weeks and that was he’s been told to tell everyone The moral of the story is don’t believe a word they tell you and avoid at all cost
I purchased the above car mid February 2024 and have to commend Pure Cars on how well the car was prepared and presented; Brad was a really great help.
I bought the above car just before Christmas this year 2023 I dealt primarily with Darcy, who is an absolute gentleman nd deserves great credit for his commitment and professionalism for sales. Only for him I probably would have thrown up the purchase due to technical difficulties. I am delighted with the car and wish everyone in Pure cars a great sales year. To Darcy - you deserve a great life in sales and I wish you every success in the future.
The salesperson I dealt with was very friendly and helpful. However received a call back the following day to sale the director has the car for the weekend an hour before I left to view the car. I agreed to view the following week, the next thing the sales manager phoned to say I couldn’t use my own finance, I had to use theirs! (£55 more expensive a month) I then apparently had a ‘deal’ for the inconvenience of the lifeshine (£90 product) to protect the paintwork reduced to £598 and the warranty (most aren’t worth the paper they’re written on for around the same. A also had the usual spell on GAP insurance. Ended up requesting my deposit back in the end, evidently this outfit are only interested in their commission and not selling cars or customer service for that matter.

Honestly can’t thank James & his service team enough. Bought a Golf R from here, it wasn’t the best sales experience but turns out the sales exec was leaving the day after we collected the car. Anyways James has picked up the pieces that clearly didn’t get passed on from the sales desk to the service department and sorted everything out. Spoke to James Tuesday, he came collected the car from my house, dropped me a courtesy car off. Kept me in the loop every step of the way. Thursday he called to say car was ready, would I be home to accept delivery that afternoon/evening. Cars come back with all paperwork to prove that the works been done, fuelled and clean. Honestly can’t thank James enough. From mentioning the issues to bringing it back home today it’s been faultless. I’ve definitely had worse experiences at main dealers!
They never ring you back and pass you from pillar to post. The Salesman must be on commission only so once you have bought the car nobody is interested.
Why do Pure Cars only respond to good reviews and not to poor reviews which are many including my own??!!
Pure Cars do not put the customer 1st if you purchase a vehicle from this dealership be cautious of what they say and offer. My experience was not a very good one. I had chosen a car probably one of there lower price range ones on the forecourt £11,900 advertised on their website Mercedes c350e nice with some miles on the clock. I went for the test drive all seemed ok there were some issues to resolve which they said would be done as a normality as they always do with cars before handing you the car sales pitch? This accounted to scuffs on the wheels, Leather seat needed stitching and repair and a general check over, the test drive showed the service was overdue and the service light engine management light was on. No problem the sales guy said it will be rectified before collection \mot and a service will be done. I asked if the car had FSH yes as it was one owner from new which I was happy with I did my own check usual MOT HPI etc all came back ok. I agreed the sale price and placed a deposit £500 which was part of the reserve online cost also which they require, I was told that printer wasn’t working properly so we did a sales transaction for the deposit from a receipt book very old school. If you look at this showroom and offices, there is more than one printer there. Car would be ready within a week of purchase he said. I gave my details email address as you do so I could have a copy of the details of the car at the agreed price and a list of defects that I noticed which were to be carried out. As the printer was not working, I said email me the invoice asap, no email was received until I emailed their sales office to chase, the guy didn’t even get my name correct – or email address, so the only way they could contact me was by reply to my email they didn’t even call me. Within the week of waiting for the car I asked numerous questions to the salesperson and sale team basically chasing details of the service record I wanted to have paper copies of the services as there were none in the car also the details of their bank so I could transfer funds for the car. Numerous Calls emails to chase and get information the level of response was very poor non-existent I had to chase all the time for the information of the car. even payment. The only time I received a call was when the car was not ready 1 week after purchasing. I was told there was a fault and a part needed to fix which they thought would fix the fault Lamba sensor (exhaust) this was the incorrect one so another was on order. So, 1 week on, I then was told the car would be ready on Saturday for collection. I had to call and email again about the car to chase up if all was ok for collection Saturday and mainly to arrange Payment as no details were received after asking numerous times, you would think that they would want your money ! I was constantly chasing asking, no sales person telephoned me to let me know what was going on ? no updates until the Friday afternoon only after emailing Thursday night regarding my queries which had not been yet answered. I received a voice message to call them, so I called thinking the car would be ready only to be informed that they found out 9 days of me asking about FSH of this car which they said had FSH only to be informed that the car only had 1 service (no service history on the car) for a car with 99,000 and 1 owner ? Pure Cars reason was that the previous owner was to forward the service details on as part of their purchase of the car and these never arrived. The salesperson Sam then said to me he thought that I would not want the car because of this Obviously, I said NO why would I spend £11,900.00 on a car with only 1 service record when you told me that is had FSH. Sam then said I thought this would be the case, and said we will return your deposit and apologized for the whole situation. I have not received my depot back as of yet,3 days on they are quick to take you money and get a sale but never return your monies back as quick. You would like to think that this was a reputable company as part of a larger group and will do the right thing and return you hard earned money. The overall experience for me with Pure Cars has been a poor one and seems like that unless you’re spending loads more money on a car you may be better looked after. Do not let this review discourage you from buying a car from Pure Cars you may have a better experience just make sure due diligence is used.
Claire in response to Poor Customer Service
From my experience and looking at the poor reviews, this company only lacks on after care sales. Once the sales guys/girls get the sale and commission, they simply don’t give a ****!!! They don’t reply, ring back, even despite threatening management will be getting involved, then even they don’t give a ****! Only going 3 positions above the salesman’s head, something was done, and it was done quickly. Ridiculous customer service.
asked to view a car, got told we had to leave a deposit which on the website was £99 and they took £500. Asked for the deposit back and got told it would take a couple of hours and still now haven’t got the deposit back. Been waiting 2 weeks. Customer service was crap. The car we paid a £500 deposit for wasn’t even at the site when we went to view it after planning it as a worker had taken the car home then no one could get in touch with him that morning and got a call the next day saying he had phoned in sick and was staying home. Only received an apology for them messing us around but continued trying to sell us other cars we weren’t interested in.

Bought a second hand car from the Wakefield branch. The sales person saw me coming - yes, I am a blonde female with no knowledge of cars. He told me the Audi A3 convertible had cruise control - it didn’t He told me it had 1 owner from new - it had 3 before me He told me it had a full service history - it didn’t, it’s had one in 7 years. I was sold a 2 year insurance warranty for £500, but found out this may not be valid if the vehicle hasn’t been regularly serviced and maintained. I found out all this a few months after I bought the car. I have written 3 emails to the Manager but haven’t had the decency to reply. Yes, Purecars take your money but don’t want anything more to do with you or after sales service. Disgraceful, don’t bother with this company
