I purchased a car over the phone and got the car delivered. When the car arrived it had paint damage, 2 bald tyres Not been serviced in 20k Miles, seat were all stained if I got a bargain OK but I paid top money for it the don’t care. When I called to purchase they were so pushy that they even let me put the Finance in someone else’s name. wouldnt buy from here I HAVE GIVEN AMPLE TIME FOR THEM TO SORT IT OUT I EVEN SAID I WOULD ACCEPT £300. FINANCE WAS IN MY SISTERS NAME SHE KNEW ABOUT IT BUT HE SAY SHE DIDNT THEY DIDNT ASK TO SPEAK TO HER OR ID NOTHING. Stay clear.

We brought a car from Racecourse Garage back in October it's now march and we still haven't received our 200 pound deposit back after so many calls and them promising to send us the money still haven't! They just lie continuously don't trust them! I'm in the process of taking them to court.
Would not buy another car from them, car was not even valeted on pick up. Don’t think it was actually pre inspected, as the breaks are grinding and squeeking, and the car has gearbox/ transmission problem!! ,
Went to see a car that was 'sold with an MOT', turned out not only didn't it have an MOT and needed a lot of work to be done to pass, they had no idea about the condition or history of the car and seem incapable of any form of communication and unwilling to return my deposit. Currently in contact with small claims court to resolve.
Bought a car last month from the Racecourse Garage and it has been a very bad experience. Too many problems to mention. They lie, never phone you back, never answer an email. I am in the process of taking them to court. Don't touch them.

Bought a car from them last month, soon after the thermostat broke so I was a little worried as I had read previous reviews!! All I can say is that everyone is entitled to their opinion and everyone can write a review based on their experience but I thought I'd write my own because I found the garage to be extremely helpful, polite and accommodating. Initially I dealt with mark but then with Karen who introduced herself as the bosses wife. She was lovely on the phone and even offered me my petrol money as I had to take the car back to them so that they could check/ fix the thermostat. Thank you very much racecourse garage.
We bought our car from this dealer back in May. Richard Axford who is the owner seemed charming at first. He told us how all vehicles had to undergo a 70 point check in order to meet there meticulous standards prior to them handing over the keys. My wife and I had then arranged to collect the car but on arrival were told that they'd noticed that one of the locks was faulty so we would have to wait a while longer. In hindsight this should have been the point at which we walked away from the sale. When we got home we realised that the parking sensors were not working (although they were when we test drove the vehicle), the clocks on the dash could not be set and the tow bar electrics didn't work. I notified Richard and he arranged for me to take the car to his friends garage, this we did on two occasions but they could not remedy the faults. We were then told that he would arrange for us to take the vehicle to a main dealer but had to persistently chase him up to get this to happen. The main Audi dealer that we went to seemed reluctant to help us out and so I arranged to take the car to a local auto electrics firm ("tis was authorised through Racecourse Garage) who noticed that 3 fuses had been removed, causing the parking sensors and tow bar electrics not to work. Alarm bells were ringing as with the fuses plugged back in there became a warning light displayed on the dashboard which apparently indicated a problem with the tow bar. After a third trip to the Audi dealer and then another local garage who kindly recoded the tow bar electrics for free we were sorted, or so I thought. I'd forwarded Richard the invoice from the auto electrics firm which was agreed that they would pay. This was done mid July but still as of today the cheque for £54 has not arrived. I've emailed several times and made about 20 phone calls chasing up payment. I've spoken to Richard twice and been told that he " really hasn't got time to debate the issue" and today was told " I've not got the time or inclination to discuss such a minuscule amount". This sums up how the once charming Richard, who boasts of his 70 point checks and meticulous customer service doesn't live up to his boasts but is instead let's his customers run after him wasting his precious time.
Don't buy any car from Racecourse Garage. They are really rude and don't know what they're selling. Also forcing people for un-refundable deposit.
Very rude staff who obviously think they are above people (think his name was richard). Over priced cars, went in for a browse as wanted a new car as their pressure tactics didnt work he became rather rude and uninterested. Wish I checked reviews on here before visiting as sounds like this place has a bad reputation!!
My partner and I visited the dealership to view a used vehicle we had already seen online. We were greeted by a young man who happily showed us the vehicle and took us for a test drive. This young mans service was faultless he was genuinely friendly and happy to talk to us. As soon as he started to drive the car he stated that the tracking was clearly off which he stated would be resolved prior to any sale. He stated that there was 3 month warranty and it would be MOT'd and serviced prior to collection. Brilliant we thought! We were happy with the vehicle and we noticed that half of the covering of the handbrake was missing, pretty much the only issue we spotted apart from tracking. We were going to buy it, cash buyers happy to sign there and then UNTIL..... We went into the office and spoke to the young man and an older man who I believe is the manager. We stated that the young man was correct, the tracking was definitely off to which the older man apologised for. We then mentioned the handbrake casing and whether it was knocking about anywhere. Again no issues raised apart from these. We then asked whether there was any budge on the price we were happy to buy but for the cars age we believed it was a tad over priced. This was where the older man started explaining that the cost goes into the service received ie making sure car was perfect before it went out. This is fine surely they all should do this; however he then went on to state that we couldn't go in " demanding this that and the other" and then expect a lower price. This referring to the tracking that THEY pointed out to us and a handbrake casing that we only pointed out to see if it was knocking about the garage! His demeanour became VERY RUDE and CONFRONTATIONAL. We challenged this as we believed we weren't being demanding asking for these simple issues to be resolved. He proceeded to tell us that they want their cars perfect so we don't have to go back. The example being if we went back with faulty brake pads and discs a week after purchasing it then we "wouldn't have a leg to stand on" surely with a 3 month warranty we would be covered!!?? It was very clear this man wasn't to be trusted! We left the office knowing that this dealership had lost a sale. We were then followed out by this gentleman onto the car park who stated that he had "clearly offended us" and because "its Christmas with good will and all that he will knock it down". We declined this lame offer (£195) purely due to this mans attitude. He is all charm until you show a bit of initiative and know what you are on about. Funny how he followed us out showing he knew his ATTITUDE STUNK! Also funny how this car (if so desirable) has been sitting on his forecourt since September and had to have a new battery replaced. This man was going to get a guaranteed sale and because of his sheer very obvious greed and his very RUDE behaviour and attitude towards us we happily walked away. We expect car dealerships to want to earn money at the end of the day it's their business but this vehicle was over priced for what it was. In all honesty if this man states that we wouldn't have a leg to stand on a week after purchase then it makes me wonder how difficult things could become if any issues came up and what else they would become confrontational about. If you want to be taken for a fool, spend more money than a car is worth and be spoken to like you're taking the mick asking for a simple job like tracking to be sorted then by all means this is the dealer for you. But there are better out there better value and more importantly better attitudes!
