I took my Range Rover P400e Velar to Lloyd Land Rover in Ripon, because I had an Engine Management Light (EML) activation. I enquired about a possible wheel bearing issue and I requested an interim oil change. I received an extremely professional service led by Craig Newcombe (Service Department). Craig had his mechanics diagnose and rectifily the issue concerning the EML, established and replaced the Front Nearside Wheel Bearing and completed the interim oil change. Moreover, the Service Dept conducted a full check of my brakes (pads & discs) and tyres (tread depth and wear). Craig Newcombe established that the premature wear on the bearing was covered under my extended warranty. The effective way in which my vehicle had been serviced and repaired was absolutely outstanding. I had been informed quickly by email and phone of the 'state of play' concerning my Velar. In addition, on picking up my vehicle I had a comprehensive breakdown of all works undertaken, and a nice touch, my receipt was accompanied by a hard copy of the service, as displayed on my digital e-service record. I will now use Lloyd Landrover of Ripon for all my servicing and vehicle maintenance needs. An outstanding experience.

Avoid at all costs, I was sold a car with a faulty DPF, they chased me to buy the car then didn’t want to know when there were problems. Now faced with a 3k bill as ‘Not covered under warranty’ The car was filthy with sticky sweets under the arm rest, the car was not serviced before collecting either, appalling customer service!
We bought a second hand Evoque from them and on collecting it none of the items had been rectified that we had specified and several of the items in the deal were not in the car and the salesman and manager once the car was payed for denied these items were in the deal. There was also damage to the bottom of the bumper that they had never repaired and the under panels had not been removed when we checked so not sure how they carried out 165 point check. The car interior was dirty and the paintwork covered in tree Sap. The sales manager then tried to make out he was doing us a favour offering to fix the bodywork when this should have been done before we collected the vehicle. There was trim pieces missing, clips loose under the bonnet chips on the wheel the door wasn’t painted as agreed only touched up. If you want to pay top price for back street garage service then Lloyd Land Rover in Ripon is the garage for you. But I advise anybody to stay well away.
Absolutely disgusted with the way these people operate - I have paid £20000 for a car that has cost me a fortune due to a faulty dpf and I have just been fobbed off by a smarmy sales manager who spoke to me as though I were a fool - terrible customer service!!!

Having had my Range Rover Sport booked in with Lloyds Ripon for over 6 weeks, responding to my email reminder the day before and personally driving my car to Lloyds to avoid the need of a curtesy vehicle, imagine my supprise when i returned at the agreed time to collect my vehicle, only to be told that they hahn’t had time to service it. I question the ability of the company to be wothy of holding a Land Rover dealership. A very unsettling LAND ROVER EXPERIENCE
Bought a evoque few days after had a engine warning light on. Told don't worry after two visits to lloyds kelso fault came back while my wife was down in Gloucester. She called out aa after 3 hours he traced the fault. His words who on earth repaired this car as the wires were nt connected properly. Since then car is fine. So lloyds are not good anywhere....
Poor workmanship and ridiculously bad value for money is just the tip of the iceberg. The customer service and aftercare is been beyond a joke. I had to chase numerous times just to find out when I would get my car back (as I wasn't offered a courtesy car/transport or anything). I kept getting told I would get a call back and it just never happened. This should have been my first red flag. The main issue was that they tried to take advantage of somebody that doesn't know very much about cars. I took my range rover evoque up for the front door lock fixing. A few calls back and forth and there were a few other issues including it needing a new sensor. At this point it was up to £675. After a vehicle health check (which is apparently just 'looking' at the car, they advised that I needed a new DPF heatshield and knox sensor - to the tune of £2,000. I took it back to the dealership where I originally bought the car (less than 2,000 miles ago) and was informed that whilst it did need a DPF heatshield, they could buy a non landrover part for around £30. I was also told told that the casing on the wiring for the knox sensor had chafed, but there was NO damage to the wires - so it DID NOT need a new knox sensor. When this was put to landrover, they said that they won't fit non landrover parts, so it would need the full exhaust replacing (for a £30 part). When initially speaking to them, I was under the impression that the full thing needed replacing. Had I not spoken to my fiance and taken it for a second opinion, I would have been an additional £2,000 out of pocket for work that didn't need doing. Apparently, according to landrover this is fine though because 'I didn't end up having the work done'. Avoid these rip off merchants at all costs - who knows how many other people have paid for work done that didn't need doing! 😡😡😡

My review follows the theme of some of the other comments left. The service reception and workshop departments are not fit for purpose and would certainly be a major reason why i would never buy/lease a Range Rover again. The vehicles are superb until they go wrong and then the nightmare begins. Time after time the vehicle goes in for a simple fault early in the morning and either is not ready at the end of the day or has to be returned because the fault reoccurs. I run a major business and if my customer facing departments performed as Lloyd Landrover i would have no business left, In my opinion the business is surviving on the excellent reputation of the brand and the previous ownership and staff

We have the misfortune that our nearest Land Rover dealer is Lloyds in Ripon. Over the years we have had numerous problems. One vehicle I took in 4 or 5 times to fix with no luck. Took it to another dealer who fixed it first time. They said it would be different under new management but they seem to be exactly the same. Avoid if you have any alternative.

I have bought 4 new vehicles from Ripon Land Rover over the past 5 years. They have always ended up doing the best deal and give great customer service. I had issues with one of the vehicles and they bent over backwards to make sure the problem was resolved and I was happy.
