We purchased our car from Riverside Car Sales in Castleford. There was a massive oil leak when we viewed it , we were told they would fix it . When we ‘eventually ‘ allowed to pick the car up after many of excuses from these guys , car was still leaking oil ! We took it back and brought him the eligitamate part from the dealership to repair it, again to pick it up was another list of excuses ! Still in warranty I rang Gary again to ask when he could fit it in but said ‘he was too busy and it would be weeks until he could get round to it ‘. So we took it to a dealership and had the work done but said we were very lucky as we had asked Gary to put a cam belt on ( which again we paid for ) but they had not put a nut on the bottom bolt on the alternator which could have caused thousands of pounds of damage . They also commented on the other work been done and queried the mot !! I would recommend people to stay well clear , Gary has no customer service skills whatsoever and he needs to look at this if he wants to remain in the business. I would not trust Gary and his employees to repair my wheelbarrow!

Martin. my daughter bought an audi a3 from Gary at riverside car sales in January and I bought a freelander td4 off of Gary in the beginning of july the cars have been spot on so was Gary he even gave me some money to put some fuel in.

Bought a car with cash had the car 3 weeks and door handle fell off lost the lock informed Gary he asked to deal with it him self at his garage, he was unable to fix the lock as it needed to go to a Ford garage to be done due to small parts and a code, after sorting out the lock and Handel problem that turned into an extra part the Handel backing Gary had said he would pay for the work he refused after the main problem was fixed to pay for it been done because I had not informed him of the work done at the Ford garage. He was very rude towards me when we went to see him and told me get out of his office I told him I was going to trading standards and won't be buying from him again. Had no warranty papers through either so if you buy a car take it that you buy it as seen and deal with any car problems yourself. For warning to all.

I was looking for a car for my son, having found one online only to be let down after paying a deposit it was brilliant to find a car that my son liked on Gary's car lot - we were so let down it was nice to deal with somebody that was honest - reserved the car as he said till we came to view and the car itself was exactly as described and presented in a pristine condition - well worth the 100 Mile journey . Thanks Gary for restoring our confidence in car dealers it was a pleasure doing business with you and would not hesitate to recommend Riverside Car Sales in Castleford to anyone no pushy sales just honest advice and details thanks I have a very happy son.

Worst place ever! Bought a car from Riverside Car Sales in Castleford with gearbox issues went to get it sorted and was told to "get off from the yard". Avoid at all costs...Gary was very happy to take my money, after that just a total disaster!

Keep away from this 'dealership' owner called Gary sold me a car with cruise control but when I got home I relaxed it didn't, politely contacted him and just received abuse! Called me names and said he'd call the police for harrasment! Still ongoing problems and wouldn't recommend! It's been reported to trading standards who are dealing with him! KEEP AWAY

Riverside Car Sales should not be called a dealership but more of a ranch. The owner is a foul mouthed and even threatened me when I had a disagreement with him. I would advise anyone who is considering buying a car, to go elsewhere. He even used the immortal words " I know where you live" . Laughable if it hadn't cost me so much money.

Riverside Car Sales in Castleford could have potentially caused me a serious accident when i bought a vehicle from them and here is why. They claimed it had just passed it's test less than 24 hours earlier when i went to collect it, they knew i had a long drive down to Poole and let me drive off in a vehicle with faulty tyres which had over 50lb of pressure in them to mask the fact they were damaged, a trick garages do i have since found out. Also the owner is one bad person, he said the vehicle was owned by his friend and he knew the truck, well the gearbox now is broken too and when my mechanic took the consul off inside the truck there was 2 bolts holding the gear lever in and one of these bolts were cross threaded an obvious sign someone had been in there before. I have only just wrote this review as i am sick and tired of garages treating people like this.

Found the owner Gary to completely leave you to your own devices when looking round his cars. If any help needed had to go find him. When found his attention was all over the place. No personal touch. He didn't seem interested in selling any car or giving good service. Found him quite rude. But saying that the car u bought is very nice. Told him I had some doubts about the brakes he said no worries if it continues bring it back. Well will see when I ring him as this could have been resolved at the start. But like I say I sold myself the car no input from him
