Purchased A MG ZS in July 2022 for £12400 Collected the car a drove home and advised by tyre company that two tyres were below legal limit, despite having a new MOT. Contacted Birmingham office asking for the service history and was told it didn’t really matter. The number of former keepers on the log book was understated, it turned out to be four instead of three. The MG warranty period of two years and nine months could not be transferred as the vehicle only ever had one service with MG. If you are going to buy a car from anybody especially Roxburghe Group please pay and get the full history of the vehicle through an accredited company. Since buying our car we have had to arrange our own warranty for a vehicle with no service history. This has been a disappointing experience for us and We would never use Roxburghe Group again.

I’ll be assuming you are reading this review as an intending buyer at this dealership. If so, I’ll strongly advise against it as you may be doing so at your own risk. As much as the star rating may suggest otherwise, I’ll advise that you don’t make my mistake of being carried away by the good reviews. Read the negative ones first, and do not underestimate the chances of falling into a regrettable experience as myself and other customers have had. I travelled 2hrs to get a Nissan here. Of course, the pictures looked good, but not until I arrived at their chaotic looking garage in Sutton Coldfield, I realised that there was more than meets the eye. Summarily, I decided against buying that car after an inspection. Looking to still make a deal off me, Brad – the salesman encouraged me to check around for other choices, I yielded. I later went for a shining red Kia after asking several questions about the car and I trusted their responses. Unfortunately, not until I drove off, I began to experience the saying that not all that glitters is gold. Just few miles off, the airbag light was on, and I got a beep that the car was overdue for a service by 203 days, that’s long enough to almost deliver a baby! And this was contrary to the full-service history I was told it had. Because it was Sunday and they had closed early, I couldn’t return to their garage. Upon arriving home, I realised the remote doesn’t work for the boot, all wheels were severely curbed, the windscreen pillar at the driver’s side was broken (not visible from inside until you look closely from outside). Also, there was a dent by the rear door. I could figure all these obscure issues due the darkness in the garage. Meanwhile, none of these were highlighted when I asked if there is any other thing I should be aware of about the car. I was hurried to make this purchase by Brad on the guise that they’ll be closing early, after rejecting the initial Nissan. I asked him about the fuel economy, I was told 45mpg, but after driving 150miles at first drive, the best I got was an abysmal 32mpg. I’ve been calling these guys 3wks since I got the car, but Brad who sold it claims he can’t be of help anymore, you can imagine the dumbness. He passes me to Mark Mathews who was supposedly expected to resolve this. Instead, my request for a refund and to return to the car has been met with nothing short of utter disregard of my statutory consumer rights, a shameful denial and refusal to acknowledge their lapses and monumental deceit. Now they’ve gotten so familiar with my voice, that I’m put on hold immediately I call, claiming to transfer me to someone else, but no one. They claim the best way to reach Mark is via email and not calls, and of my multiple emails to this dude with pictures and evidence, I’ve gotten just two empty and disgraceful replies. I should add, you are technically coerced to take the useless 2-yr warranty because it’s automatically charged and can’t be removed (see other reviews to see how useless the warranty is). Also, I wasn’t given any sales contract or T&C that waived my rights of return and refund. I trusted these guys by reading the good reviews and ignoring the negative ones, and it appeared I’ve been conned because there have been others with similar experiences. If you are an intending customer and you read up to this point, I’ve taken the time to detail my excruciating experience, so you don’t fall in my shoes. Hence, I advise you take to your heels after reading this.

Using Autotrader, the car we found looked brilliant a Hyundai Tucson. We paid a £100 deposit to reserve the car as we lived 2hrs away from the car dealership. We had to wait around 2 weeks as the car itself needed a service and MOT. The MOT initially failed and then we had to wait for all of it to be fixed. Once fixed and ready we went to view the car and came home with it. In the initial first week the engine management light appeared on. We also traded in our car which meant we came out with £488 in our bank. 20 days later we are still waiting for the £488 and the return of the £100 deposit. However they have sold our car we traded in already. Every time we speak to the sales team they say they have messaged the accounts team, and every time we ring accounts no one answers and it is just an answering machine. I would not recommend or use this company to purchase a car.
I and my spouse initially chose a Kia hybrid from Roxburghe via Autotrader and had extensive discussions initiated by Mark of Roxburghe, Birmingham. On arrival in Birmingham, about a week later,Mark was present, he received us graciously and offered other suggestions when we asked for another car, he explained in detail the technicalities, advantages and disadvantages of multiple cars...we needed this to make our final choice which was a toyota hybrid...Once we finalised, Mark explained virtually all the features of the car, demonstrated these features and we had time to drive around to familiarise ourselves with the car. Again, Mark made sure we were hydrated, serving us drinks, ordered a taxi for us and basically handled all the ancillary details such as insurance,MOT etc when we requested for help. And he had the delivered before the scheduled date in a great condition. we would recommend Roxburghe any day and when we get our second car, we plan to travel to Roxburghe,Birmingham so we can get to see Mark and of course, he will provide the same flawless service that he did . We met a few other staff at Roxburghe briefly, they were professional, friendly as well. I would highly recommend Roxburghe to anyone. Thanks
Really good customer service. Really explained the prioress thoroughly. This made the purchase very smooth.
Came to see the vehicle on Tuesday, the process was quicker than expected, got approved for everything next Monday was a see Jed to come pick the car
Went here to have a look at a car the car had flat tyres lights all over the dash lots of broken stuff inside and out was quick to take my holding deposit not so quick to give it back which I now no I won’t see again. The staff was rude and wasn’t very talkative as I was asking him about thing and didn’t seem to care about anything I said. Soo many red flags I would avoid this place at all costs.
I love my car and they helped me get good finance deal really happy

Bought a fiesta st line ,paid deposit on line and travelled 200 miles. Car was advertised as 98bhp power which I wanted for my son . I was prepared to travel as wanted the safety of a dealer . On driving the car home it became apparent that the car had been modified as was extremely quick . On taking it to a qualified person the car has been heavily modified with engine mapping ,sports exhaust ,filters etc. I contacted the dealer who stated in e mail of which I have a copy “ if buying a sporty hatch lot of the time they are modified” ,they have offered to take the car back but I have already spent money on travel ,mechanics etc . I believe any reputable dealer would inform buyers of engine modifications that severely affect the car prior to purchase. I would not make the same mistake again .
G davies in response to BEWARE
Having had several discussions with the dealership over the last few days it has all been resolved . Mark has been keen to ensure the car was what I expected and allowed me to take to local garage and we came between us to a good compromise. I would withdraw the ratings I gave them but unfortunately the site won’t allow that but having seen what they have done over the last few days i would give them a 4 star.
I am so pleased with my VW Golf, its just great. The staff at Roxburghe could not have been more helpful. They sent me every detail about the car, I checked everywhere for the best price too and this was it! They have delivered the car to my home in Gloucestershire and when it arrived I could not have been happier. Thanks Mark & the team
