At least that's what I always thought,until I bought an immaculate chrysler 300c from safeway cars. I saw the car in the autotrader and it seemed exactly what I was looking for,but too far to travel just to view it. I spoke to Neil who put my mind at rest and assured me of its quality. He then offered a fair price on the trade in of my audi and then sorted finance for me for the rest. I reserved the car over the phone with a deposit and then the next weekend travelled to see it. I can honestly say it was even better than I expected. Absolutely over the moon that I took the risk. Thanks to a decent honest car salesman....a rare breed. Thanks Neil.

Recently I needed to buy a new secondhand car. For me, knowing nothing about cars, this is a minefield having been sold Junkers before and reading some of the reviews makes you go cold. I search AutoTrader, eBay and local car dealers eventually finding what I wanted right up in Nottinghamshire, 200 miles away. Having spoken with Neil, the owner, I decided to make the journey. A ‘car knowledgeable’ friend, who was was rather negative about its age, mileage and dealers in general, met me there to check it over…….however, he gave it and the dealer glowing reports. He checked on all the work carried out, inside, outside and underneath and was suitably impressed. I am very happy to have found Safeway Car Sales out of the dozens I looked at online and pleased with my new car, it was spotless and looked new. Due to the distance I was travelling, Neil had pre-warned about a few minor marks and faults which he pointed out to me on arrival. I highly recommend this company and Neil, he is and his partner are a pleasure to deal with and I feel reassured and content with my purchase. Not only will I check with Safeway Car Sales for any future purchases but my “car” friend also expressed similar sentiments.

I went to have a look at a Audi A5 Coupe, pic's look good, when I arrived there, I seen the car, omg, could not believe how fantastic it looked, even better than I thought! Everyone who as seen it, said I want that car lol, good price, car in show room condition, Neil from Safeway Car Sales was absolutely brilliant, I would recommend him to everyone I know. 10/10.

Bought an Audi A3 from this dealer. Neil was a very friendly bloke and he does ensure his cars look the part, polished up nice. Sadly in my case I bought a polished turd. It's partly my own fault for not doing enough research, but I greatly overpaid (by around 1000 pounds) for a car I thought was in great condition with full dealer service history. On the drive home I noticed a freak from suspension when braking, turned out to be a perished strut top. It took a bit of effort but managed to come to an agreement with Neil to have it sorted locally to me (I paid some of the bill). Since then the polish wore off the car to reveal paintwork that really shows its age, and the smell of second hand smoke started to come out of the interior and vents. I paid to have interior shampooed but the smell keeps returning. The car came with a 1 month warranty from Safeway themselves, max claim on this warranty is 500 pounds, it's not worth the paper it written on. Your consumer rights will give you more protection. In the 4 months I've owned it the car has been a bit of a money pit. Some routine things like a full service and dead battery, but other issues like a broken thermostat (I'm sure this was broken when I bought the car but took me a while to see the symptoms as the car still ran), also turned out it was on the original water pump despite its full Audi service history at 80,000 miles. The water pump was leaking and needed replacing with an upgraded genuine part. 750 pound bill there at Audi, luckily I paid half that. A failed water pump will kill your engine. I wouldn't expect Neil to have known about the cars issues, he's a good salesman not a mechanic, and he will treat you well, his cars are all presentable and look the part, but make sure you do your home work on pricing, I didn't and it's cost me a thousands. I paid 6500 for my car, and have spent several hundred keeping it running in just a few months. If I was to part ex it now I would be lucky to get 4300. Similar examples can be found at other dealers for 5000 to 5500. Would I buy from Neil again? Possibly, but I would do my home work first.
