Called today to talk about an S4 Avant. Initially it was a really purposeful conversation. However when I mentioned a budge on price... the salesman, who loved to tell me that it was his ex car he was selling, sounded like I’d insulted him. What a weird experience. A bit of negotiation works, but an arrogance, due to an over priced car doesn’t.
we bought a Peugeot for the asking price, two weeks later my wife had to replace a tire due to a puncture. at the tire dealer he noticed that the tracking was way out and the inner edge of the tire was illegal. the car had just been MOT'd prior to us taking it. We spoke with John the 'salesman' who told us the car was fine when it left the showroom and that there was nothing they could do. So there you have it the car 'got sick after they sold it , no apology or offer to correct what was clearly a pre existing fault on the car, and i would question the MOT centre where it was tested because they surely would have seen this? I would advise anyone NOT to buy a car from these dealers, as soon as the car is out of the door and they have your cash they dont want to know.
I purchased a Vauxhall VX220 from the Save On Used Cars team in June 2020, at distance due to the COVID-19 crisis. Phil is clearly an enthusiast and was very knowledgeable without the pressure tactics. Unfortunately on day two of my ownership, a fault with the gearshift became apparent. Shaun and Phil worked with me to successfully provide compensation and have the car repaired at a garage local to myself (over 400 miles away from their dealership). Great service, communication and after-sales support from the team.

They told me on the phone the car was in perfect condition inside and out when I asked about dents etc, I travelled 250 miles to collect the car. When I arrived, the car was dirty and they could not be bothered to clean it for my arrival... (for a reason)! I soon realised the car had done many more miles than advertised, and was then told that the salesman had been driving it, but I let it go. I paid the original advertised price for the car as they were not prepared to move on the price so asked for, and expected at least a tank of fuel... nope, I had to put a full tank in myself 2 miles down the road. When I got home and cleaned it, I then saw that the front bumper was quite scuffed right where some dirt was conveniently (placed?), and the rear bumper also had a dent in. I understand that a 3 year old car may have a few bits, but to blatantly lie to me is disgusting and not good business practice. Also beware, they only give you a 30 day warranty which is laughable and not worth the paper it is written on. I would not trust these people, so buyers beware! I do not want others to experience this stereotypical used car sales company and their company name saveonusedcars.co.uk speaks for itself. So save yourself the agro and save-on-used-cars elsewhere!

Bought BMW 2 weeks ago from Save on Used Cars, issue with braking on higher speeds, basically vibrating. I suspected warped front discs. Spoke with Shaun, booked car in at Savoy for 2nd opinion the next day. Pads and front discs replaced, authorised with no trouble. Thanks Shaun.

After reading some adverse reviews about Save On Used Cars, I was a bit reluctant to buy from them. How wrong could I be? There was good welcome when we arrived. We purchased a nearly new Seat Toledo, it was well presented, a good price and satisfactory part exchange. The people in the showroom were polite, professional and very helpful. We were provided with a phone to swap our insurance and taken to Post Office for the Road Tax. The whole deal couldn't have been easier or more pleasant. Thank you guys!

5* for Save on used cars! No pushy salesmen trying to force you to buy a car. They just let you get on with it. I bought an Astra in December 2018. Originally had a few faults like nail in tire and glow plug issue which was quickly rectified. Not had an issue since! Just WISH I had mentioned the dent/mark which is very noticeable in the door and the paintwork peeling on the roof at the time of purchasing. I don't mind the odd scratch because after all it is an 8 year old car! Didn't bug me at the time but is getting to me now I know it's going to cost me.. Thanks, Jamie.

Bought Mazda from Save on Used Cars on 30/09 for £2695 (exc pxc). Less than 4 months later car needs whole new engine, and requires substantial work to return to a roadworthy standard. Company clearly not checked vehicle prior to sale. Have completely ignored my email asking for resolution and now sadly I need to take legal action to regain money lost. Really poor experience and service.

Unfortunately the review provides no information in terms of vehicle model, registration nor name. As such, I am unable to offer any comment. Could you please come to me directly via email at saveonusedcars.co.uk@gmail.com and/or call the office on 01724 854482 and we can discuss further. Thanks and regards, Shaun
With Saveonusedcars what you see is what you get, therefore 1 Star is half a star too many. {Full info:] I had looked at 2 vehicles that Saveonusedcars had for sale, the first was a Vauxhall Meriva, from which I walked away quickly after a walk around the vehicle revealed numerous scratches, dents, copius amounts of human/dog hair (down every seat crack), 2 bald tyres and a (completely misshapen) flat rear tyre, nice. Unfortunately, rather than walk away completely, I decided to return later and buy the other vehicle, an Audi A4 which, although it had a few little dint's and scratches, it generally seemed decent value for money, also it seemed good on the test drive and best of all it had (allegedly) just been serviced a few days before. I paid the full screen price for the vehicle (the salesman wouldn't budge on the price) and within minutes of paying for the vehicle I was given the new keeper supplement and then, bizarrely, the vehicle was moved to the business next doors forecourt (not very professional, but Saveonusedcars clearly have more stock than they have room to put it). Anyway, there I then sat, on another businesses premises, in my newly acquired, uninsured, untaxed vehicle, trying to get road legal via my mobile phone and armed with a V5 that it turns out was completely invalid. Naturally, on discovering the V5 was invalid I returned next door to the garage and the staff (saying it happens all the time/it's completely normal) gave me a form to fill out (to get the vehicle taxed and a new V5 issued via a Post Office)... in fairness one of the staff then gave me a lift to the nearest Post Office to hand in the form (half a star awarded for the guy who gave me the lift). Unfortunately, once at the Post Office it was quickly pointed out (and to be fair I had already spotted it on the forms) that I am supposed to actually wait 4 weeks after acquiring the vehicle before using those forms. Fortunately (perhaps feeling sorry for my situation) the Post Office attendant nevertheless took my money and issued the tax for the vehicle. I then eventually got my insurance sorted too and by now pretty stressed by it all I drove straight home (a short, 6 mile journey). The next morning I decided to check the vehicle over more thoroughly (lights, tyres etc) and I quickly found the offside front tyre had only 15psi in it (it should be at least 30psi), also I noticed the oil was low (and had clearly had not been changed recently), not a good omen considering this car has allegedly just been serviced. Although I pumped the tyre up to the correct psi, unfortunately every day afterwards it has again lost pressure, so, whilst there is sufficient tread depth (and no sign of nail etc in the tyre), there is clearly a slow puncture. To be honest, the tread rubber all the way around the tyre does appear degraded/weathered like it has been on the car a long time or something. My problem then, considering the car has been 'serviced' it seems extremely odd that the oil should be low (and discoloured to a degree which indicates it needs changing)... and added to that when there is a tyre on the vehicle which is simply unfit for purpose you have to question what 'service' if any was actually carried out. I contacted Saveonusedcars via live chat and received a call shortly after in which I was told that the vehicle has been serviced, that 'Savoy' carried out the service... and that tyres are not covered by the Saveonusedcars warranty. So in essence it is not their problem, it's mine. I can honestly say I have never dealt with a car dealership quite like this one... and I certainly would like anyone considering buying a car from Saveonusedcars to be aware that whatever they drive off the forecourt they are stuck with, so do every bit of due diligence possible before paying for the car, or, better still, buy your next vehicle from somewhere else because when you pay money to Saveonusedcars you are left feeling like you have just bought a car off a shady private seller, not a legitimate car dealership that actually cares.

Jonathan Kirkland in response to Do your homework before buying anything!
Do not buy a car from here. The cars are dodgy. MOTs are either not properly inspected (Not fit for purpose) The sales after care is absolutely rubbish if you have a problem after buying a car from save on used cars just get it fixed elsewhere or even better just don’t buy a car from here. The bmw 520d efficiencent dynamics,ML61 KUV I bought from here had nothing but problems from day one and now it’s completely blown up and requires a full engine rebuild ,I’ve only had the car 4 half months and been without a car for 5 weeks and after speaking Shaun at save on used cars he’s not willing to fix (Problems from day one was never fixed which has now caused full engine failure. Legal action now is the only option for me,

Update: The complexities of this matter were not laid down over email, and were numerous owing to the information feed and were certainly not as clear cut as suggested by the initial and follow up review from Mr Kirkland, noting that we had actually reviewed and repaired the vehicle post sale. However we held constructive discussions with Mr Kirkland, and agreed to a partial insertion of monies to assist in the rectification. Thanks and regards Shaun
Never got back to me even after I sent a recorded delivery letter keep ringing the garage same answer someone will ring you back never did got the car checked out by an auto election to be told that the computer was corroaed and he was not sure what other damage was lurking as the car as been leaking in for some time

Dear Paul, Unfortunately the message did not get passed on initially, however when it eventually did we contacted you immediately and swiftly arranged diagnostic and remedial action where required. The fault would not have been visual at time of sale, as your auto electrician noted, as such we would not have been aware that their was a leak present that was corroding the suspension ecu. Happily we have both replaced the aforementioned ecu, but also stripped the inside of the BMW, located the leak and repaired - ensuring it does not happen again, with the BMW ready for collection. Apologies for the initial issue with regards to getting the message through to the right person, however gladly once it did we ensured swift action was taken. I will look to ensure improvements through the communication chain internally going forward Paul. Speak soon, and thank you for your custom. Shaun
