S.G.Petch Review Great Service that gets even better if something goes wrong !! The measure of a company, especially a car dealership, is what happens when something goes wrong. I initially bought a Ford Kuga, the day after getting it home it decided to go in “limp-Home Mode” I dropped the car off with the garage and it was a DPF issue, this was quickly addressed while I received a loan car for the day.. returned the following day my car seemed fine untill it refused to start the following morning and had a fit on the drive.. an email to Ray and a technician was quickly dispatched to collect the car. I decided at this point to return the car. Expecting resistance I was pleasantly surprised to be told by Ray that a manager would be in touch .. Derrick (sales Manager) promptly rang to ask what I wanted to do.. I requested a full refund.. no problem was the reply .. and a loan car was provided as I was now short 1 car.. Derrick appologised for the problems and assured me that S.G. Petch would not leave me without a car untill I had decided on an alternative from them.. or had received my full refund. This prompted us to continue dealing with SG Petch and we have subsequently bought another car from the dealership because of the excellent after sales service.. If you are looking for a car this is the place to go.. good service and very pleasant, dependable staff Ray and Derick especially..
Be very wary of these cowboys we booked a 2023 Nissan Juke Auto in as we had a few issues with the car one of them been fault with Gearbox and had a issue with the brakes we got a call on the afternoon and said they could not find any faults and they had carried out a full health check on the car we collected the car and the very next day the electronic handbrake failed we had the RAC come out and was shocked that Sg Peitch failed to repair any of the faults he plugged the Diagnostic machine in and it come up with 2 pages of faults including the gearbox fault what we orginally booked it in for and the noise from the brakes which was the electronic handbrake that was failing one side motor had burnt out and a damaged spring on the other side and a list of other faults so either they have not check the vehicle out although they did send us a video of them spinning the wheels and shining the torch underneath or they checked it out and new about the faults and lied to us now on the way to a new nissan dealership in sunderland absolute joke
Sent here by the same company to "diagnosis " a fault told I needed a wiring loom part £850 plus fitting or fault would continue, strange as the RAC and the honest garage I took it to diagnosed a £50 part fitted , not a single fault since. Complained and.told.it was their.opoion !!!! . If they said "good morning" to me.i would have to look the window before I said "YES" . Stay away up market criminals .

After being told they can't look at my car for a month, ring the AA Hyundai assist and he gave me the whole script on what to say to the AA man so they would get me a courtesy car as they couldn't supply me one, AA man arrived lovely checked the car over advised blocked fuel filter Offered to change at my expense I didn't really want to pay with the warranty he advised me that the fuel filters block normally due to build up in filter and I can drive it in to the dealer if required. I called Hyundai Durham on loud speaker and the guy in service department started raining a torrent of negative comments about the AA in be knowing he was standing with me the AA man politely made him aware he heard everything and was aware he tried to get me to manipulate the breakdown cover to get a hire car, the man at the dealer just hung up I drove to dealer and they said it won't be the filter AA know nothing. £133 later they fitted a fuel filter and fixed it AA was going charge me £56 Terrible service

I brought my first car last year (2019) and it was due for a service so I went to SG Petch in Durham. Worst mistake of my life!!!. I paid £300 for the long life service which is suppose to last 2 years. Firstly the mechanic at SG Petch in Durham left the rubber grommet off the crankcase ventilation pipe and lost the screw which caused me to have a warning on my car and and an air leak, with it being my first car and not very experienced with cars in general, it was really frustrating. The car was hissing and the revs were too high as a result of the mechanics negligence, so I had to pay a separate mechanic to fix it which cost me money. I contacted SG Petch about this and they agreed to pay me what I paid the mechanic. Unfortunately the f*** ups don't stop there. I recently realised my service book had 1 year put down instead of 2 (which I paid for) so I then had to ring SG Petch up again, if these problems weren't bad enough the customer service was terrible. I was constantly told in this 'Servicing team is busy, we'll call you back' cycle. It would be a miracle if they actually called you back. So I had to drive all the way back to SG Petch which costs money and time and mileage to rectify their mistake they did in my service book and put 2 years down instead of 1 (which will look dodgy to the person I eventually sell the car to). Oh it doesn't stop there unfortunately (like seriously how many f*** ups can one company get away with) My current problem is my car is now displaying the service is due light, so now I have to drive all the way back to SG Petch and get that changed to next year. Honestly SG Petch really need to hire people with better customer service skills and have more people on the phones so customers aren't waiting days on end for a single call back. Should definitely invest in getting mechanics that aren't negligent and can do their jobs properly too
Avoid this dealership as they have bad attitude towards clients and timing is not respected. I will never buy a Nissan from them.It is a shame because they are a disgrace for the brand.
A few mixed comments on here but in all fairness to SG Petch Durham after three services using the prepaid service plan there I am very pleased with the whole thing, on the last service I mentioned I had trouble a couple of times starting the car and said I had read on forums there was an issue with the battery they fitted a new battery no fuss, and did a few other small fixes as well, cleaned the car inside and out, and another year free for Nissan roadside assist following the service, courteous and friendly.

I Took the car in for a service at SG Petch Durham and waited for the car in the showroom. Eventually the car was ready and i was told that the front LH caliper had seized and that the pads were worn down, but there was still enough material on for 2000 miles. I pointed out that the car was still under warranty and the faulty caliper should be replaced. I was told that the part was not faulty and it was a build up of brake dust. I was told that removing the build up of dust was not part of the service as they don't even take the wheels off. Driving the car home the wheel was getting so hot it was setting off the tyre pressure monitor. I had to take the car to another garage pay £120 to replace the font pads and clean out the brake dust on top off the £220 i paid for the service. Do Not use SG Petch Durham

Spent 3 hours with my partner and baby in the showroom and gave every indication we were buying, not once were we asked to place a deposit on the car despite having the cash, walked away for half an hour to feed the baby after saying we would buy it. Came back and the car had been sold to somebody else, no remorse or bad feelings. As you can imagine we were fuming and this is now the second time we have had a bad experience in a Nissan garage. The business manager underhandedly worked out the options for the other customer while we were still in the showroom and were not once told of other interested parties, again if we'd been given the information, we'd have placed a deposit. Fuming isn't the word and to feel like you've been played makes it all the worse. Our interest was used against us because we had to feed our 1 year old. The whole experience has left my partner in tears. Avoid !!
