Daughter took her Mini in for a free brake check (2 years old 14,000 miles) - when she returned they explained that they had snapped the bleed nipple and that she would need a whole new caliper - they had also found a coolant hose "nearly worn through" and that the bill for these repairs was £1500 - when she explained that she did not have such money available they applied more pressure by suggesting that the car was unsafe to drive and would need towing home - £90. Again she refused and drove the car back to me for inspection. The hose had a tiny amount of white powder scuffed off and none of the brakes were in a dangerous condition - I had the car MOT'd within 2 hours to prove my case.Neither BMW nor Rip off Cars of Tring had much to say - AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

So after handing over £28k for a car with 700 miles, it broke down yesterday at a hand car wash! As it’s only been a month since purchase I called Tring BMW. Told to press SOS button. Sales manager, Jason made a bad situation worse telling me they had no bookings in their service dept for the coming week and no courtesy cars! Once commission received for your purchase kiss the good service bye! I didn’t expect anything more than perhaps just a courtesy call to ask how it had gone with BMW assist and let me see what we can do once workshop opens Monday morning. Not a blunt ‘we can’t do anything for you’. It’s human nature to be nice before the sale. But for a great service, you need to go that step further and a little goes very far. Otherwise I may aswell have bought a Ford, Vauxhall etc! Sorry BMW Tring but you turned out no better that wycombe Sytner. Looks like it’s the money that does the talking. 😢

I discussed which car we were interested in etc over phone with Mark Brimmell. He matched our criteria to what was coming in. He even brought it over for me to see to my house as I didn’t have access to another car. He was honest, reliable and lived up to his word. Within 3 weeks I’m now with my new car. So happy wih the service that we shall be using them instead of our nearest sytner in Wycombe for all our future needs. You get a one to one service without being put on endless holds over phone.
