Stratstone Newport will try an convince you your car needs updates and other work that is not needed when they know your paying for it I caught them out on this with a few things last week an took my car else where in the end an the fault was sorted for £180 at a different garage instead of stratstones pricing of £90+£90 for 2 unneeded updates £240 for a new battery that was proven not needed and £800 plus for egr valve replacement unfortunately they did rob me of £180 that I had to pay for 6mins of diagnostics that told me nothing because the so called Faults they claimed and tried to say need doing when I took the car else where it wasn’t any of them complete was of my time an £180 to them should of took the car elsewhere to start with be aware
I thought I would try again with Stratstone Land Rover in Newport to change from an x5 to rangerover sport again how wrong was I ive tried 3 times to contact them no answer every time as if there’s not enough people there to answer the phone infact the last time I was in there it was like Newport city council all stood around gassing phones ringing ha well let’s go private instead wot a complete disaster there’s no wonder they are struggling with sales.
Took our evoque into Stratstone Land Rover Newport for some minor things a few months ago. 1. a knocking noise in the back 2. CD player - never worked since I had it and ruined a DVD and CD 3. rear passenger door would not open I had to wait a long time for the car to actually go in because I needed a hire vehicle, I then had to make numerous trips to either take the hire car back and exchange or my car had not had the faults fixed and needed to go in another day, not only did this take up my time but it costs as each round trip for me is 20 miles. One appointment that I had waited for over one month got cancelled the night before because they no longer had a hire vehicle. It then needed to go in again because to resolve the knocking noise, they had to remove the drivers seat. When my vehicle returned after countless visits to Newport Stratstone it had new faults. 1. interior light not working 2. drivers seat - when pushing the button down, the seat went up and pulling the button up, the seat went down There were absolutely no problems with these before it went into the garage My vehicle then went back into the garage to fix these faults last week 31/08/18, however, I was then told that the seat issue was not their issue and I would need to pay £180+ fitting! How can a seat suddenly start to work backwards without their interference?? Total amateurs.

A follow-up. After emailing the MD, I have had a great reply and now all is resolved! Its just a shame their servicing manager was not as professional as the rest of the team. My confidence is restored. Well done Mr Taylor.
It has taken me some time to think about this review and it gives me no pleasure whatsoever. I recently bought a new Range Rover sport off Stratstone Newport, again and this is why I have used Stratsone and purchased some ten new Landover's off them, Four of them Range Rovers, five of them from Newport, the deal that was presented after some negotiations with the Sales Manager and was acceptable, the vehicle was as I was told is located in Nottingham, I did say I do not want the vehicle driven to Newport and was assured by the salesman that I dealt with that it would be delivered by trailer. The vehicle had to be registered by the end of March to save on the VED increase, I asked about the tax and was assured that it would be taxed for twelve months and a week. I went to the dealership to pick up my car !!!! Off came the covers to reveal my new car, I think to cut this short I will list the problems..... 1. Front Number Plate not straight. 2. Rear number plate off center. 3 Paint Chip on roof and front spoiler. 4.Vehicle not cleaned, inside glass not cleaned, trim inside marked. 5 Rear Load space protector which was ordered not fitted. 6 The vehicle had 67 miles on it, upon questioning they said it was delivery miles ??? also the car came from Cardiff not Nottingham ???? 7. Rubber mats ordered were not in the vehicle. 8. The vehicle was Gardexed and the after market kit was not included, the warranty for the protection was not there. 9. The washer level was low. 10. The car was taxed from the first of the month, hence me losing a months tax. Needless to say it was not the positive experience that it should be. I was annoyed and said that I was rejecting the vehicle, was OK about that but did say that if I rejected the car he would refund my deposit and call it a day, basically accept it of GO. I went out for a walk to cool down when I returned offered me a service plan which was some £800 on the condition that I signed a letter stating that I accept the vehicle with the faults and there was no comeback, again I will give you a service plan ....... I accepted their offer and after modifying the letter to not sign my life away if I found other significant faults, they took the vehicle into the workshop and managed to straighten the front plate, top up the washer fluid and fit the load space protector. I am sorry this is a long review but as I said it gives me no pleasure whatsoever to write this but, I am sorry but this Range Rover will be the last vehicle I will ever buy of Stratstone and I urge prospective customers to be careful and maybe deal with a garage that values your business.
i have been down to Stratstone land rover 3 times now to have a look at the cars can not decide on which one to have disco or sport or velar, not one sales person came out to see us, might go to guy salmon bristol now

Bought a new range rover from Stratstone Newport. My wife took the car in for a recall this morning, only to be told that the soft-wear update doesn’t work, and they couldn’t ring us because they are short-staffed and haven’t been properly trained.
The customer service at Stratstone Land rover was fantastic, when you deal with a Land Rover dealership it's definitely a step up from your standard car dealer, they were great at sorting any issues and I would certainly recommend them.
Went so well with the sale. Made us tea, nice and pleasant on arrival, showed us around, plenty of information about each car we viewed. Customer service was spot on. In the end we opted for Range Rover SP, on arrival for collection it was presented well under canapé , real VIP treatment that I have never had before. Unfortunately i had to sell the car back to them which they could of offered us more money but that was what it was. Perfect sale through and through. Recommend them every day of the week
