Vehicle purchased from Tim Brookshaw Car Sales in May for 10499 so not a cheap car, 1 day after purchase issue with turbo confirmed by aa, temporary repair done by tim brookshaws (they greased part of turbo) 2 months later same turbo failed completely so pre-existing fault as not repaired properly in first place, dealer did over repair with used parts (although turbo failing would have also damaged engine severely) also managed to get them to offer refund but owner wanted to deduct £3000 with an offer of £7500, which doesn't follow trading standard or consumer rights, owner not willing to listen to reason and luckily as I had paid deposit on a credit card and rest cash I was able to contact credit card company and they have now refunded full amount aid of 10499, moral is if buying a car always pay part on a credit card (this dealer now has a sign up saying credit cards not accepted although websites says they do), sales staff are helpful but owner doesn't appear to be willing to work to resolve issues , its his way or no way regardless of consumer laws not agreeing with him.

Thank you for your comments regarding your purchase of a Range Rover Sport 4x4 bought in April 2019 aged 11yrs and had covered 109074 miles which you had test driven before purchasing supplied with an independent fresh MOT. I do agree after a short period after collection you had an issue to which the AA attended. The problem was located to the actuator which is located at the side of the engine which can stick on slightly after a period of rest if the vehicle has been stood for sale. Your comment "I appreciate it is probably something simple" as you had notified us of your previous employment working in the motor trade and your knowledge. We promptly booked the vehicle in to our workshop and the situation was resolved providing a loan car to keep you on the road. After several months and 3500 miles later you did indeed suffer a problem with the turbo and the car was recovered back to our garage where it was immediately booked into a 4x4 specialist to assess the damage. Under consumer law we are entitled to make an effective repair and use reconditioned parts like for like and without any cost to you. This was not agreeable by you as you demanded new parts fitted and so that is where you advised us you wanted a full refund without taking into account the months and mileage you have covered or any consideration of the usage of this vehicle. We also at this point loaned you a car until the issue was resolved. This situation could have been resolved within a very short period. Unfortunately it wasn't....
I went to this dealer and asked genuine questions about a car,eg could he be flexible on price as it was a little high for the make and model,i asked about m.o.t,i also asked about tax and mentioned the damage all over the car and he accused me of wasting his time,ive visited all dealerships in Shrewsbury area and none have been so rude and disrespectful to a customer,i had money in my pocket to pay cash and he wasn't at all interested,i do not know how he has been trading so many years with that attitude but I'm glad I won't be visiting him again to buy a car,the worst I've ever met.

In response to your comments. You visited my garage and continuously ran the vehicle down offering £1000 less than it was advertised for which was less than we paid for it. I decided that there was no point in continuing to discuss the sale of this vehicle. We then sold the vehicle to a returning customer that week who had purchased several vehicles over the last 37yrs of business and was thrilled with the vehicle and happy to pay the asking price.
