I spoke to the dealer about viewing a car and told them when I was coming. A bit awkward to get to the place. He threw a load of service history at me and didn't really seem to want to show me the car. He spent a while going through the papers and I was thinking this guy obviously hasn't got a clue about the car as he couldn't answer a simple question about it. I just walked outside to see the car. It was stuffed in a corner, pretty poor body work with key marks all over. I asked for a test drive of the car and then the guy suddenly turns really rude to me. He said he can't be bothered and I'm wasting his time. He would only take me for one if I said I was going to buy the car even though I had only arrived, haven't really looked at it or even sat in the car. I just wasted a lot of money getting here by public transport on a hot day, and somehow I'm wasting his time? He didn't even think to apologise to me. The whole place looked really dodgy but I decided to give it a chance. I wish I didn't

Tudor Cars Ltd from Tudor Cars Ltd in response to Rude, lazy sales person
I am sorry you felt you had your time wasted Stephen. I waited for you after numerous phone calls to say you were on your way. I had stayed an hour and a half after opening hours for you to arrive. I remember you very well. You came in with a very bad attitude, kicking the tyres and asking for the price to be dropped by £300. I did feel I was having my time wasted. I can only assume you were hot and stressed with your journey. I don't know where you had come from. I am lucky that the majority of the public that walk through this door are friendly and happy to accept my service. I have an established business and with a good track record for repeat customer sales. I am known locally, I have been here for 28 years and take a pride in the service I provide. It is a shame you have spent your time pasting this over every site you could find to leave a review on to try and ruin me and a local business.
Really pleased with my car and service from these guys!
Garry Tomlinson from Tudor Cars Ltd in response to Just bought my second car and delighted!
Thank you Jay, always a pleasure!
This man keeps telling you that he is a good guy and a honest man, Lots of cars on the forecourt but I was not told mine was standing in that forecourt for 2 months without being moved causing its from discs to seize up, yet this honest used car sales man let me drive away with dodgy brakes! and it does not stop there, he also failed to tell me that the vehicle had never had an oil change in its 124000 mile clock causing major issues with start up, that's why its was always running when I viewed it, the battery terminals were scorched from jump starting!, Internal valve gone costing an additional £400.00 out of my own pocket on top of the previous £400 for new discs, pads, bleed and calipers, oh and all outside of the useless warranty provided by this dealer, nothing is covered and what is covered would have to break of go wrong in a very particular way for them to be covered in the warranty without being classed as perishable / perished (EG: brakes, covered under warranty but not by seizing or normal usage? so how would they fail? to be covered?, that's a lame example but its the same deal with everything, the warranty company told me to call my local repairs garage whom they deal with for advise and a quote, I called that garage and they point blank told me that they couldn't or rather would not help as they have major issues with payment from the warranty company! THE WARRANTY COMPANY ONLY PAY £40.00 per hours for labor (NO MORE) average garage labor costs are from £70.00 upwards!, the warranty people will refuse to pay for DIAGNOSTICS or extensive investigation times by repair garages, the garage told me if they could not find out what was wrong with the vehicle within 1 hour the warranty people would argue and fight the garage over costs resulting in an unhappy garage owner who would then have to pass the overall costs to the customer (the vehicle owner) to pay and explain that the warranty people POINT BLANK REFUSE TO PAY OUT!, IT DOES NTO STOP THERE!...Repair Garages these days like to do a good job so that their reputation is not compromised and so that you don't have to keep returning to them for fix after fix under their repair warranty and out of their own time and costs, so Repair garages like to fit NEW / OEM parts into a vehicle that needs repair and some even like to give a short simple service like a new oil change for example when fitting a new turbo BUT! the Warranty people will only accept used second hand or Refurbished parts to be used ONLY! so basically the paper that the Warranty is printed on is worth MORE than the Warranty its self! 2 star, 3 star, 4 star, 5 star cover FORGET ABOUT IT! and the dealer must be aware of this surely? Its not good practice, Its not good service, ITS NOT HONEST. its not fair trading either! A couple of years ago I let this one slip and forked out for everything myself without hassling the Wickford dealer, I spoke to him once about the car and he was not interested so I couldn't do anything about it. Purchasing a new second hand car this year from a different dealer has shown me how things should be done and this years experience by another dealership really has shown me how bad Wickford's Tudor cars and its service was, hence the long awaited review! Tudor cars vehicle cost me just over 3k and then after owning it for 6 months another 1.5k in repairs from shabby non existent services or general care (out of warranty conditions! NO SURRISES THERE, no covered by Tudor cars either!) I got rid of the car because the ecu then went from being damp or moisture damage that had set in over a year ago (before I purchased) and was never spotted or looked at! seeming I didn't have yet another 1k for this repair I got rid of it. If you got a good runner, your lucky as a bad one would have been disguised from you on the viewing day or the day you took it home, and if you didn't get a good car and service - including the warranty company then please leave your experience next to mine! "Hopefully the man at Tudor cars has changed warranty company for the buyers sake" Frank.
Garry Tomlinson from Tudor Cars Ltd in response to 2013buyer
Hi Frank, I am sorry you had a bad experience from us here at Tudor cars Ltd. Apologies for the late reply but i have only just come across this comment. There was no full name or car details left on your comment so I cannot look you up in our archive for me to try and remember who you were. I would like to say that if i had been made aware of your problems you were facing with our warranty company i would of endeavoured to of helped you as much as i could. I was not made aware at that time of these problems you were facing. We no longer use this warranty company as we now do our own. We found them to be too expensive as we had to pay for these warranties too. We use our own mechanics, order the parts ourselves, thus insuring repairs are carried out without any middle men earning from our misfortunes. If you look onto Google reviews you will see that we have quite a high rating for our service. Once again apologies you had a bad experience abeit in 2013. Regards, Garry
