I bought a 2018 Citroën Dispatch with 23,000 miles on the clock for 14K 6 months ago. The vehicle has broken down 4 times in 6 months with the same issue. I have been without a van for weeks whilst it is being repaired to no avail. It has now broken down yet again. The after care is awful. I am now in the process of taking legal action through the finance company. I have asked to swap the vehicle again to no avail!! They are quick enough to take your money but be warned the vehicles are faulty and the after car sales is awful. Do not buy a vehicle from this outfit, Del Trotter is more professional!!

"Purposely selling faulty Transit"

I recently purchased a 6 month old Transit from Vanwise. The delivery driver handed me the keys and when I tried to start it, it completely died. Vanwise got the AA out to inspect the problem and when the technician arrived he said they had been called to a ‘bubbling, smoking battery’ the day before so the batteries were swapped over. When the technician inspected the new battery it had warped out of shape from the heat so he, quite rightly, refused to install yet another battery on it while this electrical problem still persisted. I spoke to Darren in the office and told him that I had refused delivery but that the driver had already left site. Darren said he would get it collected. A day later, and still £41,000 short, I spoke to my broker and asked him to get in touch with Darren to process my refund. Darren then said that he thought that I was organising recovery back to their depot! On what planet is that down to me to recover a vehicle that isn’t owned by me? He’s just staving off giving me my money back, which is having a lock on effect with my logistics network. Vanwise knowingly sold a van which had an electrical fault, powerful enough to melt a battery and is now withholding money. Avoid this company like the plague.

"Vanwise Knowingly sold me a faulty van"

I want the world to see what kind of criminal company this is. I originally made an enquiry with this dealership a couple of years on a new van for my electrical business. I subsequently decided to use another mains dealership to buy my van from. Forward to end of 2022 I started to look for a new a van for my staff I contacted vanwise they straight away swayed me to leaving a £99 deposit on a vehicle I liked without even giving me the finance figure etc or confirming anything. Anyways I ended up buying a 69 reg Ford transit courier which they explicitly told me was in a good condition and has 60k miles on the clock. I paid 5k and got the rest on finance. Within 3 days of driving the vehicle it broke down on me I as most people would called the dealership Vanwise to complain and ask that they take back their faulty goods. They forwarded me an after sale agent nemed Richard details and told me to communicate with him. From The start richard made it clear that it was no longer vanwises problem and that I need to deal with it myself even though I know I have rights as a consumer even if I was Business I still have rights to buy good that’s are of good working nature. They have offered me no support and are refusing to take back their faulty goods. I have noticed that they have even sprayed the bottom of the vehicle with silver paint to cover up the rust. This company is very dodgy and I just want to warn all of you that are actually doing your due diligence to please consider this before making a purchase from these guy. As it stands I’m now £5k out of pocket with a van that doesn’t work and a dealership who doesn’t care as it’s not their van anymore… I have now had to instruct solicitors to take legal action against this company to cover all my losses. Please don’t be in the same position as me and really consider if this is a company you really want to use.

I have purchased two vehicles from Vanwise now, with the first one they strategically placed one of their Vanwise stickers to hide damage on the rear door, it wasn't till I got it home and removed the sticker that I discovered it. They accused me of damaging the door, after a while they did eventually repair this reluctantly. The most recent purchase was October last year, I went into their store and requested a long wheel base Peugeot Expert. They said they had one in stock and proceeded with the purchase. It became clear there was several defects with the vans steering column and doors not shutting. They took the van back to repair it. After having it for a day they said there was nothing they can do. I also noticed a lot of Peugeot Experts on the road that seemed longer than mine, after a quick google I discovered that they had in fact sold me a short wheel base van, when I explicitly asked for a long wheel base. How can a company be called Van "wise" when they lack a basic understanding of the vans they are selling? I contacted Vanwise immediately and got messed around for months with nonsense replies and sometimes no response at all. By this point despite all my efforts I had got no where and had become incredibly frustrated with the whole situation. We are now in May, eventually one of their stakeholders got in contact with me via email. He had a very aggressive and unprofessional approach to the situation with an excessive use of emojis, clearly he had just discovered this function, there is a time and a place, not whilst trying to resolve a issue caused by incompetent staff. After a lot of back and forth they agreed to issue a refund but then refused to pay back the full amount on the vehicle, even though the vehicle was in the same condition, if not better condition as I had the door repaired and upgraded the security when I first got the van. Also in order for me to receive the refund they asked me to produce a VAT invoice which seemed odd, anyone in the same situation as this, who wasn't VAT registered would have lost an additional 20% on the thousands already lost. Its clear this stakeholders job is to deal with situations like this and make sure their bottom line is in the green rather than value their customers. He knew exactly what to say to bully me into making a decision I was not happy with. This whole situation was a result of their negligence, yet I am the one who's had to pay for it, not to mention the stress this has caused. How I was treated throughout this was despicable, I strongly advise anyone looking to buy a vehicle from Vanwise to rethink their choice, there are plenty of other dealerships out there who care about their customers and who have a good knowledge of the vehicles they are selling.
