I bought an Audi Q7 S Line Plus (63 plate) from Saxtons, salesman Jason was great, process was fine until I went to pick the car up. Car was delivered filthy (hadn’t even been cleaned inside, never mind valeted), I didn’t notice immediately as rain was so heavy. Anyway, driving away from Saxtons, I soon realised but also realised I had about 10 miles of diesel too. I wasn’t overly happy as I had driven from Welwyn Garden City to collect the car and didn’t know the area. I had paid 28.5k cash for the car. Anyway, I fuelled the car and when home, the wife rang Saxtons who stated that there had been many complaints regarding the valeting and would send £40 voucher, which they did. Three weeks later, once I started the car, smoke billowed out from below the car, I thought the car was on fire so dragged the kids out. RAC came out and stated that it was the auxiliary heater and this was normal behaviour, advising not to run the car cold whilst on drive and stationary. He run a check on the car via his machine and there were 3 warnings on the car and he told me to get these checked out. I took the car to a RAC-affiliated garage a few days later, again checks were run and we were told that they were bogus alerts and we got charged £70 (I did state that it was covered by RAC but he wanted paying). I thereby contacted Saxtons who refused outright to cover the cost. Overall, the car is beautiful, the sales process was fine but after sales car is absolutely shocking. I would avoid.

From calling about a car to driving away was just a breeze, helped along by friendly helpful and knowledgeable staff. Jason Broadhurst certainly knows his stuff.

Steve Brough - Saxton 4x4 Well - I was nervous and didn't want to be over sold a too expensive a vehicle - therefore I checked on various Independent Review sites & found Steve Brough at Saxton 4x4 who came very highly recommended by others We booked a test dive and found a great & very large choice of cars. 2 of my brood loved looking round at the super cars - none sadly that I could afford ! They did however also have plenty of Discovery's - HSE in Black with light leather etc which was exactly what I wanted - well almost They added the darkened windows and tow bar etc in 3.5 days - I had an important luncheon on Friday that I just HAD to have the new car for - and they did it ! He basically did everything I needed and took my cheek and stoooopid questions in his stride When a light came up after I left he answered straight away what it was (son had left the bonnet not quite shut) - I do not recommend lightly at all and run my own business on recommendations for all my new business so I am aware how important it all is.
