​Picked up my A7 from Robbie today and couldn't be happier. The Maxton kit and 21-inch wheels look incredible, and the prep work Oakdene did made the car look brand new. I paid a reservation fee to hold a car while some pre-purchase questions were being answered, as I live over 200 miles away and needed to arrange travel. The first issue arose before reserving the car, when I noticed they had listed two different wheel specifications that could not both be applied to the car at the same time for obvious reasons. When I queried this, I was told to refer to the photos rather than the specification being corrected. The discrepancy was not acknowledged and the specification remained unchanged after I raised it. The car seemed decent and I decided to reserve it and a reservation limit was never disclosed on the website, in the reservation confirmation email, or by the original salesperson throughout our conversation. A 10 day limit was suddenly introduced later by another member of staff and used to apply pressure for urgent collection before the promised information had even been provided. Communication was so inconsistent throughout. I was told by another member of staff who had not been involved in the original conversations that they had been “waiting to hear from me” when in fact I was actually waiting for the follow-up that had been confirmed to me in writing regarding tyres, brakes and an interior scuff I had asked about. Regarding the scuff, it was visible in the original listing photos but not disclosed as part of the condition description of the car. After I raised this concern, one image on the advert was updated so the mark was no longer visible, while other images still clearly showed it, with no explanation as to whether any repair had been carried out or the description updated. I confirmed that I intended to proceed and even provided a specific date I could travel to collect the car. Despite this, I was told the date “didn’t work for them” without any clear reason other than the fact I couldn’t collect it that week. I escalated my concerns but instead of actually taking the time to rectify or acknowledge any shortcomings, the sale was then terminated by Oakdene over a voicemail rather than working through the outstanding points and concerns raised. What makes this more frustrating is that the car has remained for sale on their website, and the collection date I originally proposed has now passed. The purchase could have completed on the date I originally suggested had there been a more transparent and cooperative approach. The buying process lacked clarity, consistency and very basic customer consideration. In my experience, the focus was on completing the sale quickly rather than addressing reasonable questions and providing a transparent buying process. Having dealt with well over 100 car dealerships over the past decade, this was by far one of the least transparent and most difficult buying processes I’ve experienced. It was also one of the most confusing buying experiences I’ve had. Different staff members gave inconsistent information, and phone calls often contradicted previous emails, which made it difficult to understand what was actually required to proceed. Unfortunately, what should have been a straightforward purchase became unnecessarily complicated. Based on this experience, I would not consider purchasing from Oakdene in the future.

This was the first time me purchasing a car from oakdene and certainly wont be the last amazing from start to finish to make the process stress free and easy. When collecting the car the effort they went through in prep is amazing made the car look unreal and added every little detail possible to make the experience perfect. Incredible experience from Jordan who facilitated the sale and the team. I made a late night enquiry on a Sunday about a rare specced Mustang GT. He called me back by 8:30 am the following day. By the end of the first call we had finance in place, deposit paid, 2 year warranty and ceramic coat agreed. I then picked up the car the same week on Saturday. He went above and beyond even noticing pads were on the low side, so have booked in their team to come all the way from Alfreton to Bristol to replace all of my discs and pads from my house. They also re sprayed and blended the bonnet to remove all stone chips. Would buy my next car from them again. Hopefully for the Ferrari 812 this time…
