We bought a Volvo as a family car for us and our new baby. The day we drove it home we realised the air con didn't work. We didn't think much of it as we thought it wouldn't be a huge problem. A few weeks after buying it we realised that occasionally the car lost power, and a few days ago the engine warning light came on. We had AA warranty and they wouldn't cover any of the issues as when Mex Cars serviced it before we bought it they taped up the engine tubes as they had split instead of replacing them. We lost power at a roundabout after pulling out into oncoming traffic, this car is un-roadworthy and risked the life of myself, my husband and my 5 month old baby. There were 5 faults with the car all of which we were told were due to incorrect servicing. The garage offered us a 3 month warranty. After dealing with the AA we were 6 days out of the warranty. They have washed their hands of it even though we were sold a vehicle not fit for use and rather dangerous. Devastated to have put my family in this position the car is now going to cost £1000 to fix. Do not use Mex Cars in Isleworth.

Hi, I was just about to go to Mex cars and buy a car my mum had seen last weekend. After reading your review and others, I have decided not to proceed. Thank you very much. Have you contacted trading standards for that area? Usually they would look into the repairs and if found dangerous or inadequate, take the necessary action.
