Purchase a beautiful VW Gti from A1 Ortos - they could not do enough for me - answering all my questions honestly & sorting out a couple of glitches on the car with no problem (I'm based in London so 200 miles away!) Location: It is easy to get to with or without a car in Oldham. They have a tram station nearby too. I came from near London, by train, to buy a car and the journey was easy. Cars: All cars are nicely prepared and accurately described. Pictures presented on both websites and auto-traders were accurate. Staff: A1 garage, A1 team. I called up in advance and asked 1000s of questions including requesting a video of some specific points I would like to find out about the car. Luke from the sales team took me through all the details carefully and he personally took a video of the car (in's and out's) as well as video potential areas of rusts (I was buying a 12 years old car) to allow me to thoroughly evaluate the car's condition before travelling 200 miles to inspect and buy it. The magic day - day of purchase: Luke greeted me at the door, show me where the car was and asked if I wanted to spend time around the car, by myself. Luke allowed me as much time as I need before we went for a test drive. At my request, Luke drove the car first and took it through the pace (up and down the gear box) without me asking. This allowed me to listen out for unusual noises. When it was my turn, he just said, "enjoy it"!! My expectations: When I saw the car, it was as described by Luke from A1, all details (including imperfection) were accurately told. Once I sat behind the wheel, the car was not a disappointment. Luke and his manager, Marc, were excellent. They did not try to up sell me anything, not even insurance or warranty, just a straight forward deal. Yes, I believe the price I paid was very fair. My expectations were exceeded!! Summary: I highly recommend A1 to anyone who is looking to buy a car. For me, for my next car, I will definately call Luke and Marc from A1 to see if they have something of my interests. By look around their garage, they will likely to have something that I want in stock in the future. Thank you for an excellent buying and after sales experience. Will call you when it is time to change my car (or buy another one)!!

Upon meeting Luke at A1Ortos I was instantly made to feel at ease, not under any pressure whatsoever and like I could open up to him about a sticky situation I’d recently found myself in. I was listened to, made to feel like an important customer receiving his full attention and it is mainly due to the service I received as to why I purchased a car from A1Ortos. Luke went out of his way to hold the Scirocco I wanted for over a week whilst I had to wait and see what my insurance company were going to do in regards to my sticky situation. Then after holding my car with a tiny deposit Luke also sorted me out a fantastic deal on finance which is easily affordable for me. Before coming to A1Ortos my experience of going test driving cars and meeting the sales people was quite stressful. But Luke at A1Ortos put my worries to rest and has provided me with such a positive experience of purchasing a second hand car that I felt compelled to write the review so others know what blinding service they will be on the receiving end of with Luke and the guys at A1Ortos. I can’t recommend them enough, just get down there and meet them and they will definitely help you out!

I purchased a car from here in May and still now, 3 months on I am having issues with this company. Firstly they say they are a "no pressure" dealer. I wasn't allowed to test drive the car until I had agreed to a trade in price for my own car. I was cornered in an office and felt so intimidated. I was not advised of the sales fee, until I asked very late on if there were any other costs. This should be advised up front. I was then heavily persuaded to put down a deposit, which I was advised would be refundable on my partner viewing the car on the following monday, and if we were both happy, I could take the car away. However. The following monday was a bank holiday. No one advised the staff on duty we were going and the car was far from ready. We drove over 120 miles to get there. 240 miles round trip. There was no apology. We were promised a decent test drive, the hung over assistant was frankly not fit for us to go far. We agreed a further date for Collection. The day before my birthday as I was working local and would be going on holiday the next day. I was assured due to their previous mix up, and the special day, the switch over would take no more than 45 minutes. It took over 3 hours. The work that was promised to be done had not been done regarding the bodywork and alloys, a 4 year old car was sent out never having had a service, despite a full service being promised. The valet was shocking and the car was filthy, no mats in it, SD card had to be posted out. Left me with 5(!!!) Miles diesel in the tank. I was then nearly in tears, i was feeling intimidated, I just wanted out, i asked for my money back and was refused. So i said let me just take the car then, as I felt like I had literally no option. So finally 3 hours later, I get in the car, and another member of staff smashed another car door into my car. He denied doing it. There has been a persistent noise on the car. Its has been identified as being a bearing. The car was not safe to drive and should not have passed its MOT. This has been reported. It has also taken 3 months to get the tax refund on my old car, tooing and froing to get what's needed. I was told it was sent off immediately but DVLA only recd it after my last complaint to the garage. There are other issues on the car. One of the tyres has a slow puncture, the warning light came on before I managed to even get to a garage to get diesel less than 1 mile down the road. The owner is rude and would never speak to us, even though there were so many issues, what should be a happy and enjoyable experience was stressful and upsetting. Broken promises. Intimidation. Old school sales techniques. Avoid.

Saw the exact car I wanted on ebay via A1 Ortos - I live 200 miles away & by chance was in the area for business so went to view car. Nice sales guy Dilon - however one alloy was scratched & scuffed clearly done in dealership & not owned upto until we pointed it out - then he gave us ages of BS excuses & I had to beg for £100 off (on ebay pics alloys all round perfect!) Also all the locking nuts of all 4 tyres corroded as acid been used to clean - perhaps these should have been changed or painted? Got the drive away 5 day insurance - excellent for £15 Ready to drive away only to find no sat nav sim card - lucky we noticed as dealership was closing - it should have been checked !? Shame no one bothered with a courtesy call a few days later as promised - customer service & a bit of courtesy would not have gone amiss !!!!!

Before picking up the car I purchased, a1 Ortos made sure it was in top condition before releasing it to us. Upon arrival and waiting for the vehicle we were supplied with great coffee in a nice waiting area of the showroom .. I could of sat there all day if I’m honest looking at the very high standard of stock they had in. I already want to go back to purchase another car. Luke looked after us during the buying process and handover and I must say a very well dressed polite and nice guy who knows what he’s doing. Other salesman in the motor industry could learn a few things from him ... overall an awesome car dealership, I’m very happy with my car thank you Luke and A1 ortos.
