Seen a vehicle on Ebay and gave Jay a £500 deposit to secure it. I was told the vehicle was waiting for a part from the mot and told it would be ready in a week. I contacted them a week later, to be told the part still hadn't arrived and they couldn't give me a timescale. I repeatedly rang all week, to be told Jay would ring me back. One day I rang 5 times!!! And still never had a return call. 2 weeks later i was still being told the part hadn't arrived and they had no idea when it would arrive, and no timescale was given. I was left hanging with no car, and no timescale. 3 weeks in, I rang the garage several times, to be told Jay would call me back. I was also told that I would be informed as soon as the part arrived. By this time I couldn't understand how a part could take so long!!!!.... I rang the garage on Thursday of the 3rd week of waiting, to be told Jay would call me back again... when i did spesk to Jay, all he did was blame other people saying he could only tell me what he was told.....By this stage I'd had enough, Sunday I travelled around and bought another car. 3 days later I contacted the garage for my deposit back, only to be told Jay is not in, and he would ring me tomorrow. No surprise there... Exactly 3 weeks to the day of waiting, Jay phoned me back to return my deposit, and at the same time told me that the car was on the ramps having the part fitted!!!! Which you can imagine, I was fumming. They hadnt even phoned me to tell me the part had arrived.... This is absolutely shocking behaviour from a dealership... but looking at the other reviews on here it seems like this is there norm. They have no customer care.....And looking at the reviews theres a lot of people worse off than me.
**RED ALERT** Scam Scam Scam! Even a 1 star is not good enough for them but I need it to write this review. Guys please be very careful with this company. There are red flags all the way and notice what they are. I agreed with Tony and Wes on a Land Rover discovery sale. I was even made to pay £500 deposit for holding the vehicle. A few days later Wes took my details over the phone for finance options to see my eligibility etc. I was advised my finance is all accepted by Black horse and I can come and collect the car. I received numerous calls from Wes on the day of the collection and voice messages left. He was eager to sell the car (RED ALERT). To be precise… 12 missed calls!! Upon arrival, I saw the LR car parked outside. The fun now begins… I went inside to meet Wes and finalise the deal. I was advised by Wes to hand over my keys of my merc (part ex) and to complete transfer & purchase formalities. I removed my private reg off my vehicle via DVLA website (£80 cost). Paid for insurance on the new car (£200 cost) Long story short…These guys ignored me. Wes kept disappearing and Dylan was trying to pass time and selling the car to me. Dylan advised they are the best company and have sold 30 cars in a week!! What a joke!! (RED FLAG). Please do your research but usually only 2/3 cars are sold in a week. They clearly assumed I was thick. He used various tactics and advised their log book for my purchase will not be processed until I give them all the service history and they need an extra £500 holding charge too. This was their company policy (again all BS - RED FLAG) I was loosing my patience. It was 4 hours and all the staff was ignoring me. I had no idea what was going on. I was the only customer there. I requested to be seen and for the formalities to be completed on the sale a number of times. I then requested to inspect the new car. Funnily enough, the car I was going to purchase vanished from the collection bay. They even moved my part ex merc at the back out of sight too (RED FLAGS) I asked for someone to speak to me. I asked Dylan and Wes numerous times where the owner was but I was advised he is out of site. Anyway, after waiting 4 hours & no progress and continuous REG FLAGS, I realised something is not right. I reached out to Dylan and he advised the finance company has collapsed (RED FLAG)! Funny how my finance went through 6 hours ago and now all of a sudden the company has collapsed. I was fuming. I asked Dylan and Tony to cancel my purchase straight away and repay my £500 deposit back. There were too many red flags. All of a sudden the owner appeared Paul Taylor. He said “can I speak to you for 5 mins”. I said to him where did you appear from, I was advised the owner is out of site. Paul (the owner) advised me well actually he was at the back in the room and he is not customer facing (RED FLAG)! Which owner hides away when a customer is fuming?? My only aim was to ensure I obtain my deposit back. Paul and Dylan spoke to me and I requested them to give my deposit back otherwise I will be calling the police. I was fuming. Guys be careful!! BEWARE OF SUSPECT MILEAGE CHANGES! Currently under investigation with Trading Standards. I purchased a car from A1 Ortos, and after doing their own “mileage check,” they discovered a significant mileage increase but failed to inform me. Now, they claim it’s my responsibility to resolve what they call an “input error,” even though I am still within my 6-month period under the Consumer Rights Act. This contradicts the advice I’ve received from credible sources like Audi and Autotrader. I currently have an investigation underway with Trading Standards regarding this matter. A1 Ortos is not part of The Motor Ombudsman, which they don’t have to be, but this makes it much harder to address issues post-purchase. Their warranties and guarantees are handled internally, and even the warranty they provided required me to do all the legwork. If you’re wondering about how they value vehicles, they offered me 21% less than I paid just five months ago. While I understand depreciation, this steep drop, coupled with their handling of the mileage issue, raises major concerns. In summary, this is a company that does not seem to respect consumer rights and has ignored my legitimate concerns. I dealt with Marc, Jay, and Chris.

Wouldn’t recommend this garage at all! Appalling to be sold a car that was said to be perfect condition… 5 days later the bumper falling off, dents on the roof and a poor respray down the drivers side of the car with overspray on places it shouldn’t have paint. They refused to refund me and take the car back but did agree to fix the car. After waiting 3 weeks whilst they were apparently fixing it, they gave me no update and after countless times of ringing I decided to go collect my car. Lo and behold the old bumper is back on, dents still not fixed and I’ve been lied to all the way through. But unlucky to them these lads have done this to tons of people by the looks of it but they’ve never done it to someone who’s got half a million followers on social media. So I will sit back and watch whilst I shine a light on this business for what it is. Good luck

Dealership has now fixed the problem and has apologized on behalf of the staff and has put everything right with my car.
I recently purchased a car from A1 Ortos, I handled the majority of the sale over the phone as I am not too local to Oldham. Once I got there I was greeted with a hot drink as it was cold and wet outside I was extremely grateful! The car I had purchased (Tiguan) was looking absolutely fantastic and my sales rep at the time was so helpful and very patient as I can be quite fussy. I will be going back in the future!

This is my 2nd car now purchased from A1 Ortos. Fantastic dealership, super friendly staff and never had any problems with them! Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to buy a new car
Been here 6 times and won’t go anywhere else, sells amazing cars, does the job right!
Wanted to buy a Bentley narrowed it down to 2 cars. Spent 2 hours at the garage. Would not allow me a test drive without committing to a deal. They twist the truth and are not a trustworthy garage . How can I comitt to a 60k purchase without a test drive?. Manager stated company policy however I believe this is just a l pushy sales tactic. Lost my business
Bought myself a Range Rover, unbelievable value for money in the current market, travelled from Portsmouth and I was not disappointed!!
