Well, the car i bought from A6 Motor Company is OK. Yeah it shouldn't have passed an MOT but I wasn't overly upset about spending 300 quid on fixing the brakes. It was seen as sold at the end of the day. My Issue is with the lies. They lost the MOT paperwork and they didn't stamp the service book. I said, no worries, get it stamped and get me the MOT and mail it to me. 2 weeks later I received no MOT certificate and an empty service book (I sat there and looked through the proper one when I paid for the car). This was sold as having full service history and they seemingly lost it in the space of a day. I even warned the guy that I always win in these situations and having won my case against Suzuki and BMW, I'm actually looking forward to giving these guys a taste of consumer rights. If you don't fancy dealing with the aggravation, just simply don't buy a car from A6 Motor Company.

I phoned A6 Motor Company about a car for sale, knew I would have to collect with a recovery wagon but was told the car starts it is in good condition for its age and asked if the car had been involved in an accident and asked if it had good tyres etc. After travelling for two and a half hours we arrived at there place, Your cars down bottom end pal the salesman said. Took keys went for a look for a start battery flat open door hummmmm these guys are blind (no accident) Really two airbags blown, bald tyres, scuffs on leather bits, missing from car. Went to sales guy confronted about airbags still denied all knowledge (the car had also had a new sill welded on) Got booster pack car wouldn't start thankfully due to user error on there behalf pumping accelerator and flooding car. I agreed to take it away after some hard barging so thay jump in a car with a sold sign on it put a rope on it and pulled mine out. Thay may or may not be like this all the time just be careful.

BEWARE. A6 Motor Company in Bedford are not to be trusted in my opinion and below will tell you why in my review. To cut a long story short, I drove 2 hours to view a Honda Civic Type R that seemed in pristine condition in the advertisment, only to find that the car was absolutely not as advertised (failed to mention the completely replaced engine in the advert). Did not buy the car and would strongly advise against anyone dealing with this dealership. Now for the long story as I feel I have to share this. I saw a 2005 Honda Civic Type R with 83k miles advertised on Auto Trader (see link below) for £3,789 and on the surface it seemed a great deal since most of this age/mileage are at least £4.5k. I was also considering a Ford Focus ST which they also had in stock so thought it was worth the 2 hour trip there to view both. Fortunately I thought to Google the company yesterday and uncovered some pretty unfavourable reviews and this site included had a few of them. The A6 Motor Company seem to keep 50 or so cars in stock from what I could tell and although I found a few bad reviews I assumed they must have plenty of satisfied customers. After all people are more likely to leave a review if they're unhappy, right? I figured it was too risky to spend the extra £1,300 on the Focus (in case anything went wrong a few weeks after taking it home) so I pretty much decided that wasn't an option and I would just view the Honda Civic. Well the first thing I noticed when I pulled up on the forecourt was that the Focus ST I had seen advertised on Autotrader for £4,995 was up for around £6,500 which seemed very strange. The salesman pounced on me as soon as I got out of my car and went to fetch the key. In the meantime I went to look for the Honda Civic, only to find it was up for £4,995 (about £1,200 more than the advertised price). The salesman returned clutching a bag of keys and some jump leads (alarm bells were ringing) and when I questioned him about the price he told me that the Autotrader price was the "online price", and that the only reason it had that price hanging in it was that when they got it in that was the only one they had. This was clearly a load of rubbish, obviously. Anyway, he started the car up and I opened the bonnet. My first thought was where is the i-VTEC engine? Now I'm no mechanic and in fact I'm pretty clueless when it comes to engines, but I know what it should look like under the bonnet and because I had read the reviews last night I had made sure I was familiar with how it should look. I questioned it and the bloke LITERALLY said "Yeah mate well you can probably find a plastic VTEC cover for that on eBay for £10". My first thought was "You what mate?"! By this point I had decided I wasn’t going to buy the car but figured I’d give it a test drive anyway as I had driven all that way. The first thing I noticed (other than the fairly tatty interior and various chips/ scratches on the body) was that the mileage in the car itself said 75k. It was advertised as 83k so why would they advertise it with more miles on it than there actually were? Apparently they had changed the dials and then the salesman confessed that the engine had been changed just over a year ago. OH RIGHT. Not mentioned in the advertisement. He told me not to push it too hard until it had warmed up which is fine as I knew that’s pretty standard for a Type R from what I understand. He guided me to a petrol station where he put a couple of quid’s worth of fuel in it and then told me to thrash it back to the garage. “Get it into the VTEC range” he said. I pushed it and despite the promise of “feeling it” when it kicked in, I didn’t feel anything. Not convinced it was even a VTEC engine they’d put in the thing. He also swore down that there was no VTEC indicator in Type R's, now I don’t know Type R’s that well but from what I read on the forums, there should be one, even if it’s disabled by default. Apparently he’d had 8 Type R’s in the past and wanted to assure me that the engine was bulletproof. Clearly not mate if this one’s been changed and you’ve needed to own 8. Back at the garage I thought I’d take a look at the paperwork anyway. There was not a full service history as promised in the advert and in fact there was nothing past March 2014 when the new engine went in. Apparently it won’t have done more than 2k extra miles since the new engine went in. Again I thought, you what mate? From previous MOT certificates I could see the previous owner was doing 10-12k per year and 15 months have passed. Probably more than 2k miles in that time I reckon. Also, the “receipt” for the new engine was a scrap of paper with a mobile phone number scribbled on there with the name of the engine and how much he charged and I also noticed the receipt number was “001”, not done too many of these then? There was no service history but the salesman assured me that the previous owner had a mate who “knew cars” who serviced it for him. No paperwork obviously. When I asked him about price, he offered me the advertised “online price”. I asked if he could do better and he instantly dropped it £300. No I thought, you’re alright mate. I would strongly advise against being tempted in by the seemingly great deals these guys are offering, it would appear that really, they are too good to be true. I also suspect that all their positive reviews are actually submitted by themselves (no real detail, suspicious looking names etc). Avoid, avoid, avoid. Beware of A6 Motor Company!! I purchased a Leon FR for £4500 and when i road tested it (prior to purchase) i pointed out it had an abs light on the dash and also it needed valeting as there was sweat stains on the front seats, I was also told the timing belt had been replaced, having picked it up a week later (having chased them to See if it was ready) the abs fault is still on and it hasn't been valeted on speaking to the garage that has been servicing it the timing belt has not been changed, but having travelled two hours to get there I simply couldn't stand having to go back again so I have taken it away and sorted it at my own cost ............. beware of A6 Motor Company in Bedford they are only interested in taking your money.

DO NOT BUY FROM A6 MOTORS! Went to buy a BMW 318 and was sold a dodgy car. The sales man did not let us know there was an engine management fault with the car. Unknowingly brought the car only for 10 minutes down the road for the engine management light to come on and the for the engine to go. Took the car straight back for a refund. CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!! take your money elsewhere.
