I purchased a Ford Fiesta 1.0L Ecoboost (2014) from Arnold Clark Shiremoor in July 2020. The process to buy the car was very straightforward, and although they would not move at all on the price I was happy with the car. A week after driving away from the lot there was a loud spinning sound coming from the front wheels. I booked the car in with Arnold Clark (the Newcastle Ford branch this time which is closer to where I live) and when I picked it up they told me quite a lot of work had been done to the car. Obviously this is work that should have been found and fixed before they sold me the car: - Suspension drop link assembly replaced. - Secured rear exhaust heat shield (which is now damaged again). - Exhaust flexi snapped - replaced catalytic converter assembly. - Replaced front brake discs and pads. - Rear wiper not sitting correctly. All of this done just over a week after driving the car away from the lot. All of which should have been done before I was sold the car. The car was then working fine for a number of months until the spinning sound returned near the beginning of 2021. I took the car into an independent garage and they informed me my brake pads needed replacing. This must have only been around 5 months after they were replaced along with the brake discs in the first set of repairs. Around a month after this the spinning sound returned for a third time. This time I took it to another garage (a Halfords Autocentre) for a brake check. This time I was told the brakes were all fine, and that they couldn't see what the spinning sound problem was. They did notice that the rear shock absorbers were leaking, however, and one of them was leaking excessively. I had only done less than 5,000 miles of light driving since purchasing the car due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. A few days after this I also noticed that the Start-Stop technology was working - I was completely unaware the car even had this feature as it had never worked. It was operational for a couple of hours before completely vanishing again. I contacted Arnold Clark customer services about all of these issues and they told me that it was not their problem. I believe all of these problems I am still having were present in some form before I purchased the car, which means I should be entitled to repairs or a full or partial refund. They have offered me absolutely no help whatsoever and have cut off the discussion, stating "After reviewing your concerns further we are unable to change our response on the matter. I would have to advise that this is our final response on the matter". I will now look to see what legal options I have with this situation. If you plan on purchasing a vehicle I would be extremely wary of Arnold Clark as a whole, as once you have handed over your money they have no regard for the quality of the vehicle they are selling to you. If nothing else, having over £1,000 worth of repairs done to a 2014 car in well under a year of purchasing with yet more issues to have fixed should put you off ever using them. I will be letting my family, friends and colleagues in the media industry know about this and advising them never to buy from Arnold Clark.
Just took delivery of our second Motability car a new Kuga ST Line this experience was made easy by the Motability specialist Anthony Pizzey from start to finish . We knew from our previous car he supplied that this would be a great experience and it was, he got the spec ,colour, model we wanted it is superb car as was the effort he put in for us even in lockdown he is a gent and i recommend you to try him for motorbility cars we wont go anywhere else for our next car from Laura Pam John
I have just picked up my new Ford Puma. The salesman Anthony is a credit to your firm. He has gone the extra mile , from entering Salesroom in Oct to date. I cannot praise him up enough. Im a person to him not just another sale coming through the door. I could not have asked for anything more.
This is my second Mobility car from this dealership Mr Pizzey the local Mobility consultant bent over backwards to ensure there were no Hiccups from the word go, From the test drive to delivery every thing went as smooth as silk despite all the problems in the world today Mr Pizzey was always at the end of the phone if i needed. First class service.
Everybody should have a anthony pizzey in their show room, he made us relaxed, answered all our questions, explained everything, and give us time nothing was rushed then he took us to the car and went through everything until we were comfortable with it, this is the second time and the second car we got from Arnold Clark, Anthony always rings us regularly to see how we are doing if we have any problems with the car after care is amazing, but Anthony himself is a lovely funny person thank you Anthony and all the staff at Arnold clark what a great team you have xx
when visiting in order to purchase a car i overheard a manager talking to one of his staff calling him stupid and that he was an idiot. not the sort of people i would want to do business with. I think the management team could do with some training or sacking if thats how they talk to their staff.

Iv shopped around at other Car garages before I have never came across such good customer skills like this I’m one of the most fussiest people going and I was not pressured at all Anthony stood by me each step of the way when I was feeling overwhelmed with choosing a car to meet my own needs as well as my two children Anthony was very patient with me Anthony even made sure more than once I was happy with my choice and decision Anthony was always helpful and kept me up to date With the whole Transportation of my new vehicle Anthony even kept in touch after we collected our car to make sure everything was okay and to see if we had Any enquiries at all I’m really please I shopped here also Ryan was very friendly and became my new tiktok buddy hehe so it’s not just one member of the team that made my experience all good if you get more than one staff member that is amazing then you know all the rest of the team are too also the reception desk staff were friendly and helpful towards me when ever I felt I wanted to ring Anthony with questions Thank you all so much One happy customer xxx
Would like to say that Anthone Pizzey from Shiremoor Ford is the best Motobility salesperson that I have ever dealt with. Very helpful, very friendly & polite & knows what hes talking about. Kept me updated with texts & calls from start to finish. Not at all pushy just very helpful. Received our new car yesterday & absolutely delighted with it & the service we received from Anthony. As a motability customer for a few years now i must say that Anthony Pizzey offers the best customer service i have ever received, he kept in contact with myself through out the process with regular text messages to let me know what was happening and his dilatation about sanitizing and covid secure message where second to none and i did not feel worried being at the garage.
