PLEASE DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM HERE. Absolute nightmare, i sold them my car to pay off my finance and they left my finance unpaid for 3 months! even though they had my car so i had to pay three months finance for a car i didnt even own anymore! PLUS i had to pay for the finance on the new car i got from them. Worst customer service they never answer the phones and nobody knows whats going on they ignore emails. NEVER pay referral fees and lie to you about everything and anything. DO NOT GET A CAR FROM BIG CARS CHELMSFORD!

I bought a car on Saturday from big cars Chelmsford and the front wheel fell off!!! Hadn't even been checked and nuts tightened. I'm lucky to be alive don't buy from big cars.
The manager Claire is so rude I ended up shouting at her as she walked off as the car I bought was a Mercedes and she knows she was in wrong she needs to be sacked crap service and I have spoke to Adam Scott the owner as the sale people can only sell cars and not deal with problems and say speak to Claire and when do she's so rude couldn't even insure my wife on a car while our car was in how stupid is that .... stay away from Big Cars Chelmsford.

I started looking at a car on finance which was a Volkswagen polo, I told them I wanted to put a deposit on it and test drive it when I went to the dealership which is 2 hours away from where I live by train, they then told me the car had be sold when I arrived at big cars. I wasn't too happy about but then found another Volkswagen polo similar to the one I wanted only problem was they never contacted me to tell me it had been sold so I don't have to come down. I put down a 350 deposit they're information on aftercare is very poor. They did not tell me that after you sign the contact you cannot bring the car back that you will tie yourself into the agreement and there's nothing you can do about it. They only care about the sale. They are selling second hand cars that should come with a 14 day calling off period for you to take back the car if you didn't like it. They also did a 5 day drive away insurance but lied about my age so I could take the car away. I'm 18 and you have to be 19 to do so and have your licence for more then a year. They then lied and said they changed back my date of birth. When I tried to talk to them about the situation they could not care less and give you bad attitude on the phone. Claire her name was is very very rude and she's no help. She needs to be fired I don't know how someone like that works there and can talk to people with such disrespect. Do not buy from this company as you will get yourself into debt!!! You might as well go to a proper Volkswagen or any other dealership and take out a finance agreement on a brand new car! Do not get finance from here you will paying much more on a car that's not worth the market price then to get a brand new car from a legit company. This company only cares about money and not about the customer and their needs. They just want to take your money off you, that's all they care about. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!!!!!!
By far the worst Customer Service i have ever received. The staff didn't listen to the details given to them at the start of the process causing 3 different financial agreement to be drawn up over 4 days. They only care about the sale. This is even true when you call them. There is always someone to answer on the 'Sales 'option by never on the 'aftercare option' I was asked to pick the car up on a Saturday and when i arrived (after travelling 3 hours by train) the car was up on stilts in a garage, not ready to test drive,let alone take home- leaving me stranded in Essex until i managed to convince them to give me a courtesy car (petrol was not in the tank) and it was an IGO, very suitable for people for a 4 year old daughter wouldn't you say? False promises in delivering my car to home town were broken everyday for a week. Always with an excuse that someone was on holiday and therefore a part wasn't ordered, or a clean couldn't be organized. when i threaten to cancel the deal the car suddenly arrived the same day. It wasn't cleaned as promised and, fixes that were agreed at the beginning had not been completed, so why the delivery was delayed i still don't know! I ended up having the car cleaned and fixed myself and was reimbursed, which is not ideal when you are looking at £500-+ out of your pocket. Each person i dealt with including the 'director' of the company was useless, they constantly lie about calling me back and completing tasks for me, I've had no apology from them, in fact a manager had the nerve to have a go at me (calling me the wrong name whilst doing it ) when i asked for compensation for all the time wasted and money i had spent in getting the car in my possession and fixed. Jamie Bell you are a disgrace and should not be allowed to face the public. I bought the car in April and the sales man forgot to bring all my paperwork with him. I still have not received any form of documentation to legally tie the car to me, despite my efforts to have this changed, they continue to update wrong information with the DVLA or choose to do nothing at all. I would strongly advise anyone to use someone else unless you are willing to take on a lot yourself, are in no rush for a car and don't expect any help from the dealership. I have logged a complaint with Big cars- which shockingly no one has responded too.

This happened to me the service is disgusting. They are big jokey first car experience was a complete down fall of was went to sign the docs in surrt and nothing has been done wasting 5 hour journey just because the Chelmsford branch didn't want to wait 10mins. As I actually live in the Chelmsford area will never buy anything from them again. Worst experience
I bought a Mercedes from here in July. The car was clean but not as described as it was supposed to come with a Mercedes Benz service and MOT which it didn't. The oil and tyre lights have been coming on and off since i got the car, I have had the car looked at and both the tyres and oil are fine so it must be an electrical fault. I have informed the dealership and they have said they will see what they can so and get back to me but that was weeks ago. I am very disappointed with the aftercare from this company and i wont be recommending them or using them again.

BIG CARS TOOK MY CAR DO NOT BUY FROM BIG CARS. Without a doubt, the worst customer service I have ever encountered. If I could give negative stars, I would. Put simply, they said they would wipe the finance on my old car so that I could start a new agreement and buy a new car through them. They set up the new payments, took my old car from me, then left the payments on the old car running (which they should have paid off and wiped) This was nearly SIX MONTHS ago and they've still not sorted it. All during this time I've been having to pay for TWO cars. They've passed me around from person to person and repeatedly said "we'll get on this first thing tomorrow" only to then hear nothing for weeks. Now desperately trying to find SOMEONE/ANYONE in the whole company to help me as nobody I have spoken to in the last 6 months has been any help at all, as a last resort before taking them to court. BIG CARS TOOK MY CAR DO NOT BUY FROM BIG CARS.

This has happened to someone I know. They sold her a faulty car and then bullied her to take a new car and keep paying for the old car and the new car! Passed her from person to person and a year later, the situations isn't resolved. Read google reviews, other people have experienced the same!
