I had a BMW X3 Xline reg no. YG67UBO moved from the London branch to Peterborough at a cost of £100. What I thought I was going to see was a £22,000 car that had been put through a 200 point check, which would be washed and valeted ready for me to drive away, this is what I had told the sales team was my intention on more than one occasion. When I arrived to the showroom at the agreed time, I was left for 20 mins while the sales person was tracked down. When Evo the sales guy finally turned up I was led to a dimly lit garage area where I was expected to inspect the car. First impressions was the car had not been cleaned. There was heavy break dust on all the wheels and general dirt over the outside of the car. Inside was worse, dried yogurt was spilt next to the gear leaver and dirty scuff marks were all over the internal panels. As the car was the specification I was after I continued to do an inspection. Looking at the cars own computer I found that the five services claimed were on a pre inspection when new and one further service. When I questioned this the center manager came out with an A4 sheet of paper to show me the services claimed in the add. I asked for the written evidence as I would need this if ever I sold the car again but was told they didn’t have this but wouldn’t have bought it without evidence they had been completed? Further investigation of the cars computer show the breaks had an estimated range of 39,000 miles, must be new I thought, however on. Closer inspection all the pad we’re past half worn and the brake discs themselves were extremely worn and corroded. Again I challenged the centre manager as to who had been messing with the cars service information, but no answer was forth coming. At this point I should have run for the hills but I had paid a non refundable deposit and as a qualified car mechanic I knew I could make the necessary repairs and still have the car I wanted . I agreed to complete the sale on the basis that I would be only taking the car paid for by cash. After being led to the sales desk and a further 10 minute wait Evo came back with a pile of paperwork. Evo ran through the initial free 3 month warranty, which could only be used at the Peterborough garage, after paying up front for the repairs with a £100 excess and then having to claim back from the insurance company, who are owned by Big Motor World. This warranty was obviously worthless but I was happy I would have 30 days in which to get the car checked out for fraudulent servicing and be able to get a full refund under the sales of goods act so continued. Evo then proceeded to try and sell me an additional warranty at a significant cost and as soon as he started I reminded him I would not be buying extra cove, paint protection, gap insurance or any other snake oil he was offering. Evo isited he had to go through the products. I told Evo again I would not be listening to any more sales patter and just wanted to buy the car and he told me he couldn’t do that without trying to sell me the full range of addition services. After telling Evo I would leave without buying the car if he continued I suggested he called the sales manager back. When the sales manger arrived I explained to him I just wanted to buy the car which he told me I couldn’t do without listening to the rest of the sales patter. The manager used the fact that they are FCA regulated as his excuse to holding me ransom. After explaining to the manager I would walk if they continued to try and sell me stuff I didn’t want and him refusing to acknowledge that, I walked out of the showroom without completing the purchase. Driving home it became apparent this is not a car dealership but rather a finance company using cars to extract as much commission from the various finance and insurance services they offer. If any one is tempted to buy from Big Motoring World only accept official paper work as evidence of work done. If you do buy please get your car checked out but someone who understands cars before your legal protection expires under the sales of goods act. I will be reporting my experience to trading standards Sent from my iPad

Factory sales. You only matter to them until you sign the contract. After-sales service does not exist. Lies, lies and more lies. Minutes after leaving them, two lights came on: check engine & tire pressure. I wasted a total of 8 hours waiting to hear that the sensor is faulty and have to order a new one. Two weeks later - no contact. The car lacks functions such as: Apple Carplay - despite the description on the website, the seller assures, twice confirmed by the service. When I asked a technician to show the function, he said he had to read the entire manual and would do it next time. At the next visit, the seller said that they were not the ones who made the descriptions on the website, so it was not their problem, and I signed that I checked everything - jokers! So they are not responsible for the description of the car on their website, they are not responsible for what the seller says - if you buy a car, you have to check all the functions yourself! This was and is the worst experience in buying a car. Never again - better go to authorized showrooms, because in this place only sales count - not you.

"Pushy rude sales staff and No logbook"

Avoid at all costs. I arrived at Big Motoring World to purchase a car we saw on their website. We had appointment booked and still waited for 1 hour as they short of staff (a lot of the young staff look fed up working there) Eventually we got to view car for 2 mins and test drive (is so short too) and sales person keeps talking so cannot listen out for noises coming from engine or suspension. Pushy sales staff made us agree to buy the car then and there. We were then asked about optional extras to which we said no, were not interested but the pushy sales person said he will talk us through as managers are watching him on camera. We pointed out about the spec of the car which again we had already seen online which didn’t match the car. At this point we wanted to just pay and drive car home. Instead we were given a car care (Gardx) sales pitch which we didnt want but had to do and then again for gap insurance and when we repeatedly said no were not interested, were met with multiple why statements and scare tactics about car crashes. Over 3 HOURS LATER we are fed up of the going off for 10 minutes into the office area each time. The floor manager about the experience we had and he returned with saying were FCA approved and this takes time and how he worked for multiple dealerships where 3 hours is normal instead of listening to the customer experience and taking on the feedback to improve. Ive bought multiple cars over the years and this was so unnecessary. He kept giving sale pitch after sale pitch through trying to push overpriced GAP insurance and warranted products (any issues with vehicle you need to take to Kent head office) - lots of complaints about BigAssist and the cars breaking down. Salesperson kept being pushy and sales coordinator wanted to give scare tactics. After numerously saying I dont want the extras I just want the car and no being heard, we reluctantly paid for car and made to sign numerous disclaimers. Had to agree car has 1 key and details shown on their website could be incorrect regarding spec and number of former keepers and V5 is not available to view until handover which can take another 1 or 2 hours. Finally they decide to call us into the office informing that there is no V5 and forcing to take v62 form. I explained I cannot tax this vehicle using this form and they said take to post office tomorrow and take the without road tax which is illegally. Overall stressful situation The cars ex lease or hire cars they purchased at auction and many don’t have v5 logbook. This car dealership cannot be trusted rebranded. They refused to refund even though I didn’t receive cars. I was then made to email to which got no response and then chased for days and days until they agreed to refund. Staff were rude on the phone and hanged up several times. I had to tell them I would take legal action if I was unable to get refund and then they still said the court would ask them to refund my money. Big Motoring and - All same push sales tactics and unprofessional staff. Big Motoring World are run by cowboys wanting to just make profit. The staff are rude and cars Do not be fooled by big office and milkshakes. They offer £10 voucher for positive reviews. Please do not believe them reviews as those customers would have had issues after writing review.

I went to the Peterborough store to see the car (XC 60 2016 model, £18900) after scheduling an appointment. The car was not ready yet, so I was requested to wait. They showed me the car 30 minutes later. The salesman claimed that they were only able to wash the car's outside, but that they would valet it later, which they never did. Multiple scratch marks were discovered, as well as clear traces of an unprofessional attempt to conceal more scratches. Multiple dents were present on one side, probably as a result of closing the door with the seat belt in place. When the salesman was told about the dents and scratches that weren't listed in the description, he said he'd go to the manager and see what kind of discount they could give. Then I met the manager, who was not at all pleasant or helpful to customers. The manager informed me that because it is not a brand-new car, it may have numerous issues upon closer inspection! He informed me not to anticipate any discounts for each problem found on the car because issues are to be expected with used cars. Two sets of keys were offered with the car, but when I received the key after paying the payments, I only received one key. When I inquired about the second key, I was informed that it was located in another showroom and that it will be delivered to me as soon as possible. After one mile of driving back home, the car began to make noise. As a result, I contacted the shop and asked them to inspect the vehicle to ensure it was safe to drive. However, the showroom refused to speak with me and directed me to their call centre. With the car, I purchased a three-year extended warranty (£1700) that promised 24/7 local help if I filed a complaint using their mobile app. I contacted their call centre after receiving no response from the app and was told to bring the car to their Kent showroom, which was 92 miles away from my home. I did tell them about the extended warranty I purchased with the automobile, which promised local support 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Such aid, I was told, is not available on weekends or at night. In Peterborough, there were two showrooms and a national car preparation centre within a two-mile radius of my home. As a result, I contacted both showrooms and asked them to inspect the vehicle to ensure it was safe to drive. Both showrooms refused to speak with me or assist me, instead directing me to the call centre. On the fourth day, I received a notification on the mobile app relating to my complaint, instructing me to take the car to Halfords or Kwik Fit for inspection. There were no immediate appointments available at these locations. So, I called the call centre again, requesting assistance because the car was becoming increasingly noisy while driving, but I received none. Even 10 days after the purchase, the second key had not arrived. I opted to return the car because it was found to be defective, and the promised warranty was not supplied. After multiple phone calls and emails, as well as the participation of Citizens Advice, they consented to return the car on day 13 because the description did not match the product and service I received. They claim that before accepting the return, they must first identify the car's noise at their Kent workshop. I got my money back because the loud noise was very loud. On their website, the same car is for sale again, but this time again with an incorrect description that includes the number of previous owners. I don't want to give them a positive review because they give every client an Amazon voucher in exchange for doing so, but I do want to be open and honest about my experience. Unless you are very proficient at gambling, I won't suggest The Big Motoring World or their vehicles to anyone.

make sure you check the paperwork. their paperwork is dodgy and they will take the whole file away after selling you the warranty which you don't need it. they will force you on a begging level to buy the warranty. after becoming friendly the guy told me our cars are cheaper than other garages because we make money on the warranty which is on low mileage cars no need to buy and also they get over 10% kickback from finance companies, so they make more money by selling other products which you don't really need. Also check the cars also have some hidden past, repaired fender bender, clocking mileage, etc, better take someone who knows about cars. if you are financing it or buying other unnecessary products, please check the terms and conditions, they are all dodgy, even not legal, just waiting for someone to sue them

Showed up today to purchase a car we saw on their website. Spoke with them and got the car moved to the closet dealership so we could look around and test drive it, which we did and was happy to purchase the car then and there. We were then asked about optional extras to which we said no, we’re not interested but the young chap said he will talk us through anyway just in case. Spoke to us about the spec of the car which again we had already seen online, we were happy to just pay. Instead we were given a car care sales pitch which we didn’t want but had to do and then again for gap insurance and when we repeatedly said no we’re not interested, we’re met with multiple “why” statements. 2 HOURS LATER we are fed up of the going off for ten minutes each time and decide to leave. I’ve bought multiple cars over the years which from entering the doors to leaving (including test drive) has taken maximum one hour. We were decided we wanted the car when we walked in and due to wasting their own time and ours, they talked themselves out of a sale through trying to push GAP insurance and sponsored products. No is a full sentence and yet staff here don’t seem to understand that. After numerously saying “I don’t want the extras I just want the car” and no being heard, we called it a day.
