Never ever go to these people con merchants from start to finish. They sell cars that are not going to last the attitude of some members of staff is unbelievable. I paid for an 18 plate car 2 short months later while driving down a busy road the steering rack failed so I went back to the showroom was met with well that's nothing to do with us but after making sure all in the showroom where made aware of my frustration it was decided that I could go to there repair centre. 2 months after the cars return another major fault this time total transmission failure and after a trip to a ford garage for an inspection I was met with a long list of faults that had come with the car Again another rant in the showroom and again nothing to to with us (also as I said you lot are untrustworthy a arrogant member of staff well that's your opinion) it was another call to the service Department. The service Department manager has decided nothing we can do so unfortunately it looks like battle will commence to get theses cowboys out in the open and exposed as the fraudsters they are . So if you do go to car world you will be putting your cash and health at risk so be warned.
Bought a used car less than 3 months ago — the sunroof doesn’t close, leaving it unweatherproof. The salesman claimed it was “fixed” at the time of sale, but it clearly wasn’t. When I returned, the manager admitted it wasn’t wear and tear, then gave implausible excuses instead of taking responsibility. I trusted their honesty and professionalism — I was badly let down. I’ve tried to go through their complaints procedure, but they haven’t even acknowledged me, forcing me to go down the Trading Standards route.
If you are thinking of buying a car from here don't Absolutely diabolical after sales after purchase 1.5 moths later the car developed a serious issue so I returned it to the showroom and had to sort the recover from the forecourt myself
Danny shown us around taking the time to help us find the car we wanted as we went in blind. After saying what my son needs as his 1st car he shown us a few options inlcuding the insurance groups and we narrowed it down to one car to test drive. Once we went on the test drive mu son loved the car and Danny taken time to explain the process and was very informative. The car was great too as its been a few weeks and my son is so please with his car. Will be back to see Danny for our next car

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL GARAGE DO NOT BUY FROM THESE COWBOYS A FAULTY CAR I PURCHASED RESULTED IN ME BEING STUCK AT THE SIDE OF THE MOTORWAY WITH MY TWO BABIES !!!!!!
A detailed explanation of my experience. i met with Magda at the Peterborough branch who was extremely helpful with my part exchange and purchase of my new car. Unfortunately this was the only positive aspect about car world. since owning the car within 2 weeks i had an engine warning light along with a urea light appear. i called out the rac to repair the car. this was repaired for the best part of 12 hours before i had to book in with car world. (rac would only turn off the warning lights) i then took the car to car world and after a full day of awaiting response was told that "you just needed to add more adblue" i took the mans word and left. Within 20 minutes from driving away with a "repaired car" the same faults reappeared suggesting they merely just cleared the fault and sent me away. After the matter i requested right to refuse as i was within my 30 day period of purchase and gave car world an opportunity to fix the car. I WAS REFUSED a refund and told i had to bring the car in for a full diagnostic. i complied and on the 16/01/25 i dropped the car into the service team. I waited an hour for a courtesy car and was given keys to a 3 door not a 5 door like for like. to top this off i signed to say there was half a tank of fuel as recorded by the team and there was not a drop over a quarter of a tank. To my amusement within 10 minutes of driving away with this courtesy car i was met with a tire pressure light. I took the car back frustrated and was given a replacement. As anyone else would have done i then awaited patiently all day for a call with an update of my car. i am currently writing this review on 18/01/25 and have not herd a peep from the garage. Frustrating as i now feel they are intentionally stalling to be over the 30 day threshold and tell me they cannot help.
The company really does not fill you with any confidence. We had issues when we went to collect and all the sales team and sales manager could do was to blame each other. It was really unprofessional!! We went to collect the car it hadn’t been cleaned, checked and a large part was missing. We took it after some assurances it would be order. Got them to write it on the contract. 8 weeks later we are still waiting.

We purchased a Citroen C4 Picasso from Car World in May 2024. The car was due a service and oil change which we paid car world to carry out on the day of purchase. The problems started on my home from the garage. The tyre pressure light came on and the tyre was flat by the evening. This later turned out to be a blocked valve. A week later the key fob stopped working and the service light came on. Thinking this was a simple fix I changed the battery. The key intermittently worked. I was unable to try a spare key as the car only came with one. Over the course of the next few weeks the problems became worse to the point where the car wouldn’t turn on. We had a diagnostic test done by RAC breakdown who confirmed several faults with the car. We realised we were within our 30 days to reject the car under the consumer rights act. We emailed car world to reject the car. We were contacted by Steph who said we needed to prove the car was faulty, even though we already had our diagnostic report from RAC. We paid for another diagnostic test by RAC breakdown and this produced similar findings. Steph suggested that we have the car looked at by a local locksmith. We agreed to this but still said we still wished to reject the car. The locksmith suggested it was a problem with the fuse box, but he wasn’t sure. We didn’t have a great deal of confidence in his ability to carry out the repair and it felt like we were being fobbed off with a bodged repair. So we confirmed to Steph, again that we wanted to reject the vehicle. The following day we received an email from Steph to say that as a repair had already started they were unable to refund us our money. We were fuming as no repair had started. We spent a further week having our emails and phone calls ignored or being subjected to bullying and intimidation by car world. Eventually Steph agreed for me to return the car, but at my expense. We paid for the car to be towed to car world (as it wouldn’t start). They had it on their garage for a further two weeks, again I had to call and email daily to get updates on the so called assessment process. It got to the point where I said I would be visiting the showroom in person and we sent a letter before court action. This seamed to get things moving, the following day they gave us a partial refund. They said they had to replace the starting switch- good thing we hadn’t gone ahead with the fuse box repair! However we were out of pocket for a number of costs associated with returning the car- the oil/filter service, towing, RAC diagnostic test and incurred taxi fare. They also charged us for a £84 valet and deducted a few hundred pounds for 30 days of mileage! We asked for a refund of these costs to which we had no reply. Therefore we commenced small claims court action. They were given two weeks to respond, they then asked for an extension of time! It went to mediation where they offered us less than half our money back. We did not accept the offer so proceeded to go to court. Shortly after the mediation I got a call from Step with an offer not far off our number. So we settled out of court. The whole process has been incredibly inconvenient for my family. We were without a car for over a month. Car world acted in a dishonest and malicious manner. If you’re reading this and going through a similar battle- keep fighting!

The most obnoxious company I have ever dealt with. My daughter was looking for her first car and we spotted a nice looking Citroen C1, this car had a couple of features on that were quite rare, reversing camera and satnav, so I rang to confirm the details and was assured it had these features. I paid the £99 deposit and arranged a day and we made the 220 mile round trip. Firstly the car was in great condition, but clearly did not have the two features that had been confirmed previously. This seems to be a regular occurrence according to other reviews. We agreed on £100 discount and purchased the car. This is where the problems begin, we needed the car delivering asap but the earliest time was to be the following Monday and the delivery company would ring on Friday to confirm a time, they didn't and I had to phone Carworld to see what was going on. The sales person made some phone calls and came back to me with a delivery on Tuesday, I told him this would have to be after 3pm as my daughter was working, he confirmed this after another quick phone call and said that the delivery person would call an hour before arrival and would need to catch the 15:25 train back to Peterborough but would make his own way to the station. Well Tuesday came and at 10:30am I received several phone calls and texts, none of which I could reply to as I was in a meeting, from my daughters step father. When I rang him back he told me that the car had been delivered and he had just had to drop the delivery driver off at the station. I had to book a speedy half day holiday and go move and check the car over. The car was fine, the delivery was far from what I paid for. It was only luck that someone was in or I suppose he would just have put the keys through the letterbox. Here starts the trail of lies and obnoxious behaviour, starting from a phone call to the dealership where I rang to ask what went wrong with the delivery, I was eventually passed to the Showroom manager, the most obnoxious overbearing person I have ever spoken to, clearly he never went on the customer service course, constantly talks over the top of you. I wished the dealership had been more local, a face to face with this man would have been beneficial. He initially phoned my daughter before I contacted him and was rude to her too. He requested to give him till Friday to do his due diligence and he would ring me back with the results, he agreed the service was not up to standard and not acceptable. He never phoned back, surprise surprise. Then follows 3 weeks of phone calls from myself to try and contact him, various excuses and false promises of a call back, until today. He wasn't aware of any previous phone calls, he doesn't have to phone customers back, even though that's what he said he would do, he gave the information to the sales person and they should've phoned me back, so after a very heated conversation with this obnoxious person he passed the phone to the sales person for him to explain, it clearly became apparent that no due diligence had been done, in fact nothing had been done, the sales person had nothing to tell me and for most of the time he had nothing to say. I asked for the so called showroom manager to be put back on, and he'd left. I requested £100 refund for the delivery, less than half of what I paid, to cover the extremely bad experience and my half day holiday, they phoned me back half an hour later and refused, nothing they can do. SO, if I were you, and I didn't do this, read the reviews, this company is shocking, shoddy and downright rude and offensive, they clearly do not take responsibility for anything. Buy a car from somewhere else that values customer service not from this lot, they clearly do not care about their reputation.

CARWORLD PETERBOROUGH: Avoid at all costs, would give zero stars if I could!! Absolutely SHOCKING customer service and a sham of a company to deal with. Made an appointment to view a car, turned up after travelling over 100 miles only to be told that the car had been sold 2 days ago. You would have thought decent customer service would be to call the customer up and explain the car they had an appointment to view had been sold and not to make a wasted journey to see something that wasn't available. When I explained this to them, I was told that I should have reserved the car with a £99 deposit... really, is it not common courtesy to let a customer know who has an appointment to view a car that its no longer available?! I feel like I may have had a lucky escape from buying a car from these cowboys reading some of the reviews on here!!
