We read some of the reviews for Coventry Car Mart but decided to buy a landrover discovery ...went to pick it up paid the money .They then brought car out to do a 40 point check ..omg found soooo many faults on it even back window would not open ...they wanted me to drive it home and if any problem could bring back ..but I refused to drive it off forecourt ..long story short as I had paid they wouldn't give me refund because I hadn't taken it ......took weeks of hassling but eventually got 7000!!!! Back minus 300 for administration check !! AVOID AVOID.

"Mega Car Mart sold me a faulty car"

I purchased a Range Rover Sport from Coventry Car Mart or Mega Car Mart as they also go by. The car mysteriously developed a radiator leak and CV BOOT SPLIT after driving from Coventry to London. Key has its own mind to lock/unlock. Never works first try sometimes for 2 or 3 days. Make sure you take your own mechanic to check the car you want buy. Only one person was following up my complaint. Others simply do t care after the sale is done. Buy at your own risk basically. Land Rover came back with diagnosis saying that key was defective. I just passed the report as well as Land Rover contact details to mega car mart. The quote from Land Rover for a replacement key is £231.00 then I get an email from mega car mart offering me £100 good will gesture like that is fixing the key. Forgetting that I just paid £114 to confirm that I was not making it up the key was fault from the start. Even the sales rep tried and took the car to the Garage where supposedly he was advised the Key had discharged due to lack of drive. He then promised that if I drive a couple of hours it should be fine, if not I should take it back to be rectified. 10 days on the lady who just spoke to me on the phone is trying to say that it's my fault for talking the car. She claimed the car key was ok. Forgetting that I had filled in paperwork pointing out the problem even before I left with the car. So I appeal to you all to stay away if you don't want to loose your money. Nothing is ever be as you expect. The warranty is non existent, what ever they say to you in person doesn't matter because they simply back track once the money has reached them and tell you that you shouldn't have taken the car if you didn't like. The will tell you that they inspect the car and it was fine at the time. There word against yours. Don't wast your time unless you want to buy a project car to work on and you have to be ready for surprises. It's time these lot are reported to authorities for their act. It's not coincidence from the reviews that all these people all seem to have similar problems on different cars.

After calling and asking if the body work and other things with the car was ok before travelling the 2 hour journey, i was assured all was fine, i got to MEGA CAR or Coventry Car Mart (whatever they are called) in Coventry. I was highly disappointed, the car was damaged on the wing mirror which was hanging off, but screwed on The Diff was whining badly, also other damage to car. The salesman didn't seem bothered and tried to knock of £100.

This is not a place to go if you want a good car and good service we have experienced 5 months of bad service, stress and hassle from this company, the staff are unhelpful, disrespectful and the management refused to speak directly to us or meet with us. The staff don't know what they are doing, they do not admit to any wrong doing. They should not be trading. I was surprised to read all of the reviews on their own site are positive - do not believe these are true at all after reading eviews elsewhere DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

Having purchased a Hyundai Santa Fe 56 plate from this company on 11/10/2016, I was promised a new M.O.T. cert with 3 notifications that would be rectified & a new certificate upon my collection plus a new battery as the original one had to be jump started for myself to test drive, I later found out through a catalogue of events was sub standard & dangerously un mounted that it would FAIL an MOT!....Read on..after one week of purchase, the engine warning light came on also, the air bag warning light came on aswell. I called Megacarmart to report this was told that this was not good but, was probably due to the fact that a new battery was fitted. I requested an email to be sent of the new MOT certificate to be sent to myself...alas this did not happen! I took my car to my local mechanics & asked them to cover the car with a fine toothed comb, as I starting to be concerned about it! & the "MEGACARMARTS" honesty. they informed myself that, YES, they had, "BODGED" the brakes .disks but, had not in anyway replaced the stated balding tyre..I later have since received the alledged new MOT & it has no notification about the balding tyre!? The company that they use is, Rowley Autos, Rowleys Green, COVENTRY, CV6 6AN! As you will read, they need to be investigated with regards to their competence & legality!! After one week of driving my car the following came to light, the engine warning light was,(by my mechanics turned off) re illuminated, the air bag malfunction light was illuminated, the TURBO was screaming so loudly through all driving that it sounded just like a Scania 340 lorry & even screaming when going down gears,(this is an automatic car). The advertised DVD in car player though played,(in Chinese) had no head phones or any way to listen to the DVD, & alas no instructions, though I did manage to translate it into English! The Cruise control only worked intermittently & even once locked in @ 30 MPH on the M1!! Furious pressing eventually released it & I carried on. ALL the time I was in contact with "MEGACARMART" informing them about these rather DANGEROUS faults, from the purchase date of, 11/10/2016 to 1/12/2016, they only did not acknowledge these problems but, kept only offering me a curtsey car from 2/12/16, nearly 6 weeks from my first contact about my concernes/faults about my car! The air conditioning did not work, the internal heating system did not throw out the heat that was indicated. I spoke to their Aftersales contact, explained that I was worried & disappointed about these failures & that I wanted to get my local Mechanics to have a look & investigate, which they agreed on the phone, which I did & they rectified some of the problems & when I informed MEGACARMART about these & the financial cost to myself, though agreeing to my mechanics investigating, basically told me to take tis cost on the chin & realise that due to the cars age & mileage this was just an acceptable outlay to myself, though I had payed for an extended warrenty for 3 months cover! I contacted "TRADING STANDARDS" who where very helpful & gave me good advice, which I forwarded to MEGACARMART, who totally ignored this! I am also very lucky that I have a connection to my families legal team, who did contact them & was basically told to go away & was hung up on!! (NOTHING TO HIDE THEN?) & THERE'S MORE....On the Thursday of 1st of December whilst driving home the battery warning light can on,(apart from the other ones!) when I was driving the radio kept cutting out, the speedo, rev counter & head lights kept cutting out,(this was at 3pm) when I braked the car juddered & nearly stopped, but, when I was in the middle of a staggered cross roads on the A6, as MAJOR main road, the STOPPED!! I was in a very dangerous situation!! Within the interim, I called MAGACARMART, to inform them about my situation & that I hope that the car would be transported to themselves, I was informed that they close at 5pm & that no one would be there to accept the car & to give me the covering car to use whilst they repaired my car!!! ...Car was taken home to my mechanics. then next day I PAYED to have the car transported to MEGACARMART, which I was told that it was my wish to do so & they where not held responsible personally/financially !? All delivered, forms filled in, I submitted a print out of what they stated that they would repair/make good with some of the mechanical faults & a requested list of the MANY other faults/failures with my car. They tried to get me to sign a form where as they wanted my bank details to, apparently cover any incident that arouse whilst |I had the car, including, £ 480.00, ish for an excess, £60.00 for valeting/fuel etc!! I declined!! I asked if the car was taxed & insured for me to drive & they assured me that it was & had been FULLY inspected & all levels, oil, brake fluid etc. where good! When I got into the supply car, a Mazda 5 2008 model, I had a play with the controls, lights, wipers etc, & thought I had better look at the light as , you can understand, I am some what untrusting about this company, SUPRISE!!! One head light didn't work & one rear light didn't work...PHEW!! Thank goodness I checked!? I was taken in & after 1/2 hr was presented for me to drive away with a promise that I would be contacted by MEGACARMART within 24hrs! Upon driving the said supply car home , after 1/2 an hour the seat belt warning light was FLASHING, when I turned the head lights on the dashboard illumination disappeared & I had NO IDEA as to what speed I was doing & also, when I changed down gear, the oil warning light came on & the car felt that it was about to stall, though it has not as of yet!! When I informed MEGACARMART about my worries & my concernes about my safety, they just basically ignored my worries & informed me that this car has serviced many customers!! DO NOT IN ANY WAY BUY A CAR FROM THESE SHISTERS!!

Saw a vehicle on auto trader it was good value for money. Went to the car dealership website and was impressed with what they say "At Mega Car Mart, we are committed to providing all our customers with a high quality service and very competitive prices. Having served many thousands of customers worldwide, a significant percentage of our customers come through personal recommendations as we offer friendly advices with honest and transparent approach to help you buy a used car. Test drives are no problem – just bring along your licence." Went to the car dealership in Coventry spoke to the sales man his name is Patrick he seemed honest and genuine. I explained I came from colchester and thought I can drive away with the car right there and then he said it needed service and mot however if I pay a £300 deposit they will put it to the front of the queue and it would be ready for the following Saturday. I was more than happy paid my deposit the following Saturday I ring to confirm the car was ready Patrick confirmed it was so I made my journey from colchester to Coventry only to be told when I got there the car wasn't ready so u can imaging how upset I was. Patrick apologies saying the paper work was messed up and they will refund me the £300 as a good will gesture once I sent in the invoice with a letter explaining what happen. I was disappointed but at least the situation was death with well so I thought . Sent the letter and invoice recorder no reply I called after sales about 5 times they only mess me around. Please avoid Coventry Car Mart like the plague

We bought a car from Coventry Car Mart, and the brakes failed completely - as in NO brakes at ALL - a couple of miles from the sales place, just before we got on the motorway. It takes a special kind of amorality to pocked £5k and knowingly send a family out in a vehicle like that. We were so lucky. We were then lumbered with a car riddled with serious issues which was a write off; steering rack was gone, huge hidden corrosion etc etc In short, they knowingly sell deathtraps for profit. They buy them from auctions, use all the tricks in the book make them look semi-presentable, and sell them to poor unsuspecting customers who end up a lot poorer and with no vehicle.

We are dealing with this company at the moment, spending 11k on a car that's falling apart within 24 hours of purchasing :( gutted to say least. Have u spoken to trading standards ?

Daughter paid deposit on car, was waiting for log book as previous owner had misplaced it. After 2 weeks still no logbook so requested refund. Was told had to email head office and wait for decision. Head office is room next door to sales office! Couldn't tell me how long refund would be. Lie after lie. Sent husband up who threatened them with Rogue Traders and they coughed up. I have been told that they've changed name 3 times to try and hide bad reviews.

DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM MEGA CAR MART IN COVENTRY. The salesman lied to my face and the customer service is terrible. We bought a car from them, the next day a major fault appeared (huge oil leak). We had it diagnosed at our local Volvo dealer and they came back with a shocking list of problems with the car, several MOT failures, odd given it had only done 500 since it's last MOT. After the diagnosis they wanted it return so their engineer could check it. The same engineer who cleaned the oil off the underside of the car before I bought it. 10 days later we got our money back after lots of pestering phone calls. had to threaten legal action. To cap it all, 7 days before I got my money back the car was for sale again on their site, having been fixed. Not a chance, the Volvo dealer said it would take 3 or 4 days to put right and this had only been 2 since they had agreed the refund. In short, they were trying to sell a car that they knew was dangerous. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THESE PEOPLE.
