Hi, thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Sadly i MASSIVELY disagree with this review and also your words in the manner as to how we helped or at least we tried too. Yes the car was letting water into the boot. We stripped the whole interior out of the boot and found a point of entry. We sealed this and rebuilt and we did advise you on collection that due to the conditions (-5 outside) along with the water being frozen at the garage that we couldn't test fully but to monitor over the course and see how things go. 2 Days later you called to inform me that after taking the car to a car wash there was water re entering. We agreed to have you booked in for the coming Tuesday. You failed to show as agreed in the morning only to turn up on site later that afternoon demanding your money back. You had traveled a little over 1000 miles since owning the vehicle early November 2020. We charged the usage fee at £0.35ppm as stated in our terms & conditions, this was deducted accordingly and was just a little over £300 in terms of usage. (it would cost more than double this to rent a car for this period) The car is approaching 10 years old so no where near new but certainly not ROTTEN as you describe it. If you remember to the conversation i had, i did mention that we had seen several fiestas over the years with the same issues. The garage that you use takes their Mots to the same testing station as the one we use so i'm a bit dumbfounded with that conclusion of it being "Rotten" after just passing its MOT. I understand that you are left feeling annoyed, disappointed and frustrated that this had happened to the car, but to score me 1 star on all levels i find it so very disappointing. As i said from the beginning we are easy to deal with, we care as much as you do and we have an excellent repeat customer base. Remember i pointed out the timing belt interval was due before you committed to buying the car ? and we carried this out for you free of charge ? This is just one of the major things on a car we feel is something that needs discussed at point of sale if there is no evidence of it being done. This is the type of garage we are and NOT the type of garage that you are trying to paint us out to be. We are honest, open and upfront. We have NOTHING to hide. This water leak wasn't by any means a serious enough fault to reject the car but we accepted rejection due to the nature of who we are and the principles we have in place and adhere too. We are supporting dealers of South Ayrshire Trading Standards and we are also on their Trusted Trader Website. We do the job right and correct and more importantly we care about our customers journey. On this occasion YOU refused to let us help you. The team at Elmbank wish you all the best.
