Purchased a car in February 2020, paid £99 reservation fee. Was fobbed off and lied to for the preceding 6 weeks told every week that it would be ready for collection the following week. Backlog in servicing, problem with parts, just needs to be cleaned - repeatedly lied to by more than one member of staff. Finally went to pick car up, promised it would be cleaned but was absolutely disgusting condition very dirty, full of dog hair and smelt of cigarette smoke. Warning light for camera also on. Complained to David Coppin Sales Leader promised a refund of the £99 and that they would contact us once the camera was available. 4 months later after lots of chasing and complaints to Head Office (complete waste of time - just passed us on to David at Leicester ! no follow up on complaint) still no refund nor camera fixed.
Paid £200 "relocation fee" over internet to have a £10k fiesta moved from Bradford to Leicester through evans halshaw, Experienced cash buyer wanted fiesta diesel for my daughter. Salesman phoned following Monday and said car was in Leicester and he would ring me when they had checked it so I could test drive. I had no call so went in on Wednesday and test drove the car. It had accident damage and the rear bumper was hanging oddly - not as per advert pics but could have been the car transporter. Service book missing and no 2nd key, 2nd and 3rd sales people told me the car would be sorted for Friday and key available Monday. Friday 1st salesman phoned again and asked me to come test drive car as it had been mechanically checked and was good to go. I told him I had test driven it and asked if the accident damage. keys and service book were sorted. He said he would ring back but didn't. Following Monday I called and asked for my money back. I bought a similar fiesta diesel from Ford Sheffield in a day without a problem. Salesman one asked for my bank details for refund and I supplied them on 2nd February. Daily phone calls for 11 days since then I am told daily by salesmen and managers they have asked "accounts" to refund me by email but nothing ever received in my bank account. I have never been put through to speak to "accounts", because they are obviously not telling me the truth. This is beyond incompetence, this is coordinated group lying by employees in an old fashioned scam, Small claims courts here we come.
Yesterday I took my Ford Fiesta in for a two year service. As before, the service that I received was excellent. Rhonda, as always, was great and, with the very capable support of Jay, all went very smoothly. The booking in process was very efficient. I was told that the work would be finished by 13.30 and it was. I was sent an email and text with a video and report attached which meant that I was kept fully informed about the progress on my car. Rhonda phoned me to let me know that my car was ready for collection which I appreciated. Jay clearly explained the work that had been done and answered any questions that I had. I was completely satisfied with the whole experience with Evans Halshaw Ford in Leicester.
If i could put 0 stars for Evans Halshaw Ford in Leicester i most definitely would. I purchased my 1st car here in July it took over 9 weeks to get my car. I was constantly fobbed off with sales people telling me they would call me with information the next day to which i received no calls. I ask for the long list of repairs my car required- this information was a nightmare to try and get hold of. I was told my car would have a deep clean as it was filthy however when the keys were handed over the car was disgusting- it had not been cleaned whatsoever and it was covered in dog hairs. When i purchased my car i hadn't passed my test so i was told road tax would be sorted for upto a week maximum as my car was going away in the garage until i passed ( my mum drove my car home) to then be told on the day of purchasing my car that i had to sort my road tax out before i could take my car home. I didn't receive no information throughout the period of putting a depositing down and getting my car. Well after less than 3 months of driving the car, my gear box and engine is completely useless ( breakdown told me id need the whole engine replaced). Contacted evan halshaw as im paying 24 month mechanical and breakdown guarantee was told id have to get my car to the garage and id most likely have to pay for the repairs. ( over £100 later im having to tow my car to the garage and see how many more weeks it'll take to fix my car. IF you are looking to purchase a car from a garage i would not go here, i rely on my car to commute to university and im in the middle of exams and no longer able to travel 2 hours away and currently without a car. VERY UNRELIABLE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. save yourself the hassel and find yourself a better car dealer
Paid £99 to reserve car ,appointment made to travel to Evans Halshaw Leicester branch (2 hr drive ) in a couple of days time . Luckily , rang day before to be told car no longer for sale , had already been sent to auction . Nobody thought to contact me . Now , STILL trying to get deposit refunded over 2 weeks later , Paid by debit card ,quick , easy to refund ? - no chance of getting paid back into My account . Calls not returned , nobody taking responsibility and they still have MY money . AVOID at all costs , Customer service appalling ,Trading standards next call . HAD TO GIVE 1 STAR AS NIL NOT AN OPTION
I drove from London to Evans Halshaw Ford in Leicester to buy ford galaxy. I confirmed with them that car is ready to go. Upon Arrival, driver side rear seat was broken, rear tyres were worn, and auto stop function of this car wasn’t workings.no manager or technician was present to resolve these issues. I was told to come on weekdays or when issues will be resolved, will get in touch with you. Completely wasted my whole day and fuel to visit this showroom.
Hello , Thought I'll share my experience with Evans Halshaw Leicester here , might save you journey to a very unprofessional branch in Leicester. So today I went to BUY a Lexus Ct200h( FY64 EYD) and drive it back home But I thought I'll take my mechanic with me so if there is ant problem he can let me know and he spotted a little leakage of water back of the car where hybrid battery is located, so we thought we will let the sales.assistant know and if they can clerify if it's a leak of water from car wash or is it actually there is some gap somewhere it's allowing water in. Any way sales Assistant said he will get the manager . So we waited for MANAGER ( Hitesh ) but he was very unprofessional and very rude during our conversation . That I could not believe a sales Assistant was more professional than manager . End of the day it didn't give me no confidence buying car from them as I didn't feel like they had any service standard at all ! Some time manager like this can damage the reputation of the company, Hope this helps to other People.
Do not even entertain buying anything from evans hawshaw in mansfield, I ordered a car booked a move me closer heard nothing kept chasing it up 14 days later after they had lost the car said it had finally arrived in Leicester had an appointment booked 18 days after I booked moved me closer they went to move my car to the viewing bay and then got told that they could not find it. 3 people looking 2 hours later they said that the car had been sold at the mansfield beach 8 days after I booked the move me closer so the car had never been moved and after being told the car was on site by 3 different people it was never in Leicester. I got told nothing they can do was looking for a nother car same car same mileage spec etc just different colour £1800 more nothing we could do no compromise just we will put some fuel in new car £20 of fuel for £1800 what a complete and utter joke. Unless you like wasting your time and being left stud around with you constantly chasing them around to spend £9k with them run for the hills.
Purchased a new Ford from them in Oct 2016, car has now broken down well within warranty period, I accept that these things happen but Evans Halshaw are quoting a 10 day lead time before they can even look at the car and saying they could only look at it sooner if they had previously repaired the same fault and they have no courtesy car available! Furthermore the staff who answer the service phone line have no technical knowledge and were even unable to answer a simple query about service pricing and didn't call back with an answer as promised. When I called the dealership to complain I was passed on to their customer care line and after 30 minutes of waiting gave up. I filed a complaint on their customer care website to which the site they would respond within 24 hours and guess what, no response at all.
I bought a Citroen from Leicester Evans halshaw and received appalling customer service.it took me 5 hours to purchase it whilst staff sat around.i was told all the staff were new! Wouldn't recommend.
