My son who lives in Gosforth and works in Hexham had a noise from the engine/exhaust and was concerned it was terminal. Being new to driving was inexperienced and had received the car as an 18th birthday present. I took him to Fawdington Hexham where it was purchased to ask for an expert ear to listen and let him know what may be wrong and wether it was ok to drive till it could be fixed. Reception were uncooperative unless he made an appointment, they could fit him in by the middle of the following week. Went to Mathew Clarke and a mechanic had a listen and sorted it in less than 30 minutes - NO CHARGE, fantastic. He’s changing his car soon and it’s not going to be a Suzuki.

At the time both our technicians were busy and the workshop was full. Also before we even had time to explain ourselves you had turned around and were ready to go. We had cars with appointments in the workshop and you can't expect us to just drop what we were doing there and then to look at your car. We would also not be prepared to advise a customer as to whether a car is safe just by listening to it, the vehicle would have needed to go on a ramp and there were none available. Imagine how you would have felt if we had said it was OK then something happened. We are pleased you got it fixed, I am sure on another day we may have been able to help but if you do require our assistance in the future it would be better to give us a call before coming in so we can allocate time to help you.
After a bit of a shaky start. The team at Fawdingtons Garage really shined through. Thanks again to James and Paul. My daughter and her husband, love the car.
