Bought a focus st from Formula One Car Centre. Worst mistake of my life. Sales process was great and was happy had the car two weeks went on holiday and when I came back the problems started (just inside the 30 days warranty). Engine warning lights rough running etc. Company policy I had to get car recovered fair point I obliged and paid for recovery. Had the car a few days changed sensor and re timed the car. Got it back two days later same problems. Intermittent start failure and fault codes. They arranged recovery and driver damaged the front bumper and exhaust phoned to advise and was told bot to worry it would be fixed. Was advised timing belt and water pump was being replaced. Just over two weeks later and I went to collect the car and the damage repairs were shocking. Manager Paul told me it was under the car and didn't effect the performance or value of the car and offered £30 for petrol for the inconvenience. Not wanting to start arguing I asked him if he was happy with the quality of the repair to which he replied " yes the guy has done a cracking job " at this point I realised I would get no where dealing with him I shook his hand and said thanks for your help. (I was raised with manners) I was fuming at the state of a car which I am expected to pay £9000 for. Three days later the mechanical issues started again. Would not detect the key, keyless entry not working eventually started the car to get engine malfunction lights etc. Contact garage again and this time was offered a courtesy car and car collection in a few days. I thought ok seems fair and then thinking to myself how can i trust this garage to have a third attempt at fixing the problem when they damage the car (quite significantly) the manager will not take any of my calls and they expect the salesman to take the brunt of it. He cannot control the behaviour and standard of the mechanics, recovery driver or even the cheek of the manager to offer £30 it would not even cover the cost of a proper wash after the state of the wash provided by the garage. I have several issues with this car I have touch sensitive lights, rust bubbles on the tailgate, broken fog lamps, damaged exhaust, scuffed bumper, rusted side sills (should have been advised on mot), coolant leak, ripped gear gaiter, fuse box cover ripped, coolant hoses not clipped in as someone has broken the clip, knocking rear suspension, headlight bulbs are different brightness, shuddering brakes(were replaced for me collecting the car when purchased), vacumme leak, insecure induction pipe, faded badges and paintwork, intermittent engine failure, also lots of other niggles with the car and all for £9000 what more can I ask. Looking at the car now just makes me feel sick knowing I have been mugged off. I know used and even new cars have problems sometimes but fix them and everyone is happy. Don't damage the car and not fix it properly offer £30 and then expect a third attempt at repairs. I asked the salesman to pass on the message to the manager that we come to an agreement to either, 1) pay me to get the car fixed independently (I can no longer trust the garage). 2) take the car back and reimburse me. 3) we go to trading standards and the financial ombudsman. I never expected a reply so I had already been in touch with the relevant bodies and had an inspection carried out hence the list of faults. I'm sure the garage will receive correspondence in due course. I think it shocking that they feel it acceptable to sell a car In such a bad condition and just try to ignore the issues. Can't fault the sales process hence giving one star but it's how you resolve problems that makes a reputation and from reading some other reviews it is clear they don't resolve many. Seems the policy is just ignore them and they will fizzle out. Not a chance on this one I'm going the full road with it and I hope that someday they will realise you have to solve problems for them to go away.

I am also having problems with this garage and the salesman lying about the V5, was told that it was requested online on 6th July, waited a few weeks, no V5 phoned DVLA who confirmed that no request had been made, so phoned George the salesperson involved he guaranteed it was done on the 6th July, I said either him or the DVLA were lying - he assured me he was not lying. so waited again for V5 to arrive, come the 29th July I called DVLA again to be told the same thing, they told me the garage would get confirmation when they applied so to ask for a copy, good idea, i email George who then sent me a copy of the online request, and yup guess what date it was requested - 29th July, so you were lying then!!! I have spent the last month since buying this car on the phone to DVLA, garages to try and asertain service history, consumer rights and trading standards, this is not what i expected after buying a car, this is stressing me out. AVOID THIS GARAGE. I hope you get your problem sorted out, and like you I am not going away!

Went to this garage as had the car, mileage, age I was looking for, agreed deal, paid deposit of £1000 be aware non refundable. Agreed price for trade in, sold as seen as they say in trade, 1800. Following week picked up car, left mine, then received texts. My trade in 20 years old car, wanted proof serviced, mot, history on line, don’t provide then we will take car back did not provide this for me asked but said it would be in the post . Wife heart condition gets all upset, never experienced any thing like this ever when buying selling car, accused of clocking 2 thousand miles when obvious a typo, in mot history.. I would not go to Formula One Car Centre or recommend it unless you like dealing with.

The worst car dealer I've ever known. Car not as described, countless faults, Pre delivery inspection nothing but a joke Zero after sales service - couldn't care less attitude. Utter cowboy outfit. Don't go anywhere near them

I was looking for a specific towing car. I bought a Kia from Formula One Car Centre. At all times the sales men were helpful, efficient and courteous. The car was serviced, a new tyre put on, new MOT and it was just what I wanted. I am really pleased with the car. My only gripe was why on earth did they not put diesel in the car, at least enough to get the 30 miles home! I was seriously worried that I would run out of gas on the motorway home. Not a good start which somewhat clouded an excellent buying experience

I put a £1000 down towards but circumstances changed ,they then told me that they had to fix stuff on there car to pass the mot And tried using that as an excuse ,and all there cars are the same in that sense sitting needing work done to them ,but they never tell you what the fixes were just used the word remedial ,I didn’t expect the whole deposit back ,but at least expect half of it back . I was made to feel if I didn’t go through with the it that the salesman would loose his job ,

I would like to add to this by saying why I always go back to Formula One for a newer car. They are very pleasant and try to give you the best deal and give you a selection of cars available to suit your requirements. They make you feel welcome and even though you may moan and dither a bit they still smile all the way through and do their very best to please you. Thank you very much boys eg Boyd and George. Hope to see you again in the future.

Totally ruined my new car experience dealing with the chancers that are supposed to be salesmen take your holding deposit by card then pay you back weeks later by cheque after constantly calling and being lied to ,,STILL-waiting on missing parts for car as well as car being taken to get repairs done at another garage STEER well clear of Formula One Car Centre ,,tell you lie after lie when you call them can't stress enough STEER WELL CLEAR."..

I bought a car 5 months ago from Formula One Car Centre, the car comes with 1 month warranty. before the warranty end I complained of a problem with the car and 5 months later I am still waiting for a phone call to solve this problem. If you can avoid this seller

I purchased my car from Formula 1 Car Centre a few weeks ago the salesperson I dealt with was Boyd. Being a second-hand car there is always something that goes wrong but its how the garage deals with it that determines if you use them again or if recommend them to others. My experience was a bit annoying, I picked up my car and it developed a noise the next day. I was asked to return the car immediately and it was fixed within 30 minutes, the noise came back the next day and again I was asked to bring it straight in, I was given a courtesy car and asked to leave it to enable them to evaluate thoroughly. This problem went on for a few days and they ended up taking it to the Jeep garage to have it thoroughly tested, it was repaired and returned to me within a few days. Not once did I get ignored, nor did they try to give me excuses not to fix the car. They dealt with the problem head-on and got it resolved so that I, the customer was satisfied with the service and outcome. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in buying another car from Formula 1. I highly recommend them for professionalism and customer satisfaction.
