Chris Link advertised selling a scooter on facebook marketplace. I replied to check it had the V5C and asked how much delivery was, and then told him I wanted to buy it offering the full asking price and delivery charge. I then just got a reply with a thumbs up. When I asked for more information, he replied saying he was busy watching films. He eventually replied saying he was a shop and they would need a deposit and I could pay the remainder as cash on delivery. He did not send any information on where to send a deposit to, just asking if delivery could be during the daytime to which I replied yes, but the afternoon would be better. After hearing nothing more and sending him another two messages (first one going read but unanswered), he replied and told me he had sold the scooter that he agreed to sell to me, to someone else, and seems to think this is normal and OK. This wasted my time and also caused me to miss out on buying another scooter from someone else that was selling one.

Avoid Linkway Scooters & Motorcycles at all costs.These cowboys are worse than the trotters in terms of hookey gear they sell and as for the warranty they claim to offer this isn't worth the paper its written. on. Don't pay cash or bank transfer as you'll have real problems trying to get your money back and wont offer you payment by card as it provides you protection they don't like you having against their scheming underhand trading tactics.
Scooter developed a fault after 2 weeks, rang them and arranged collection as I couldn't drop it off. They sorted the fault, and I had my scooter back in 2 days. Good knowledgeable team.
The owner of Linkway Scooters & Motorcycles knew he sold a moped that was not fit for purpose..payed delivery .. 1 hr and half to bring bike back within the first ten days of having it . Took over three weeks despite them saying they could sort probs out within a week . Finally paid for them to bring bike back. Same ... contacted .. not interested... court .. won .. long but justice ... cried in court said he was losing his business... Dont buy or trust.

This issue was over 3 years ago. the scooter was refunded and collected only to fine the customer had cut all the loom on the scooter.. This is an issue we always want to avoid however sometimes we do get it wrong.. Not sure as to why this as appeared when it was an issue with the old company linkway scooters not linkway scooters & motorcycles
