I saw the car advertised online so I called Marshams to get the full details about the car, the salesman described the car as in immaculate condition, fully tested with no issues on the car. The salesman told me there were a few inquiries on the car but a non refundable deposit will secure the car for me. As there were no other similar available in the market and Marshams was 70 miles away from where i was I paid the deposit trusting what I was told. So arranged to pick the car up on Saturday, it was rainy and dull day. When I saw the car it was not as immculate as described, checked the car briefly without test driving it and as it was a non refundable deposit I decided to take the car. During my drive back home I noticed a big chip on the passenger side windscreen and as the traffic was so bad I decided to call them went I got home. So called them when I got home and the salesman told me they had never noticed the chip, not sure how they could not have noticed it when I noticed it after driving a few miles. I was asked to bring the car back on Monday and they will see if they can repair the windscreen, (repair and not replace it, for a car that I had paid £23k). So on the Monday as I was driving to take the car back someone stopped me and said my rear indicators were not working, I stopped and checked and yes both rear indicators were not working. I was very lucky that nothing happend when I drove about 70 miles home with both rear indicators not working. As it was too dangerous and the car being not roadworthy to drive without the indicators I decided to not to drive back and called Marshams. To my suprise I was told I should have checked the car before driving it, ( I thought it was their duty to check all these before putting the car for sale). And there is nothing they could do and the only option I was given was to deliver the car on a carrier to them on my expenses. This I find unacceptable, yes I should have checked the car but I trusted them as being a honest and reliable dealers. As it was costing me money to hire a carrier I decided to take the car to a local garage who replaced the missing module for the rear indicators and asked a local windscreen company to check the chip who told me the chip was big and the only option was to replace the windscreen which I did. When I called Marshams to compensate me I was told it was not going to happen as I should have tested the car before driving which I find not helpful. My advice is to avoid this very unhelpful dealer.
