Purchased what appeared a lovely clean vehicle but having owned the car for 13 weeks faults began to occur with the engine. Although I appreciate this is the danger of purchasing second hand my experience was tarnished heavily when attempting to resolve. I was informed that the faults appeared outside the vehicle's 3 month warranty. I asked for details of this warranty and was given details of a third party company. When contacting this company they explained to me that the vehicle had never been registered with themselves. I promptly raised this concern with the dealership who then informed me that they had recently changed their warranty companies. When I asked for these updated details I was then told that I would in fact have been given an in house warranty? I asked for evidence of this only to be told that they had no record in their file but it would have been added to the receipt. Needless to say when I checked, there was no mention of this warranty. Because the car was purchased through a finance company I said that I would take this up with them only for the dealership to say that they would undertake any required work themselves but at a cost to me. They also asked if I could bring my copy of the receipt so that they could amend it to show that a warranty had been offered. In doing this they said that they would do the repair at a discounted cost. Obviously I refused this attempt to cover their own backs from their error of not registering the car with the agreed warranty. Two independent mechanics have since confirmed that these engine faults were in fact existent from prior to my purchase and both were shocked to discover missing bolts from the engine. The Car has been off the road for 2 months and has ran up repair costs of almost £2,000. The dealership have refused to make any contribution. Needless to say I can't warn people away from these people enough. Do not expect any aftersales service from this company.
