I bought a used Volvo from Project Leven in early 2024, and it’s no exaggeration to say it’s been the most stressful, exhausting, and costly experience I’ve ever had with a car dealership. Within days of receiving the vehicle, I reported a serious fault with the air conditioning system. Rather than taking responsibility, Louis from Project Leven quickly became defensive, rude, and at times downright insulting, at one point even calling me stupid over the phone. It was shocking behaviour for someone in a customer-facing role, especially when I was simply trying to resolve an issue with a car I had only just bought. I was repeatedly promised things that never materialised: call-backs that didn’t happen, solutions that were “being looked into” but never followed through. Eventually, Louis stopped responding entirely. For months I was ignored, strung along, or told to chase the problem elsewhere. All the while, I was paying for a car that wasn’t working properly. His handling of the situation left me with no choice but to escalate the matter through my finance company and eventually to the Financial Ombudsman, where the process dragged on for over a year. The only reason I got any sort of resolution was because of that external intervention, absolutely no thanks to Project Leven or Louis, who washed their hands of it entirely. To anyone considering buying a car from Project Leven: think very carefully. If anything goes wrong, don’t expect aftercare, accountability, or even basic decency. My advice? Go elsewhere.

Should be called Project Lemon! Almost forced into buying a car that has cost me £1000’s since I bought it. Absolute shyster with no morals. I now have a car on my drive that I still owe £9000 on which is absolutely useless but unlike Lemon guy I would never sell this car on. This car nearly lost me my life. I implore you, do not take the risk I did!
